[Q] Got Root? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As this is a Samsung and people are saying the hardware closely resembles galaxy s3 would a root exploit be a simple case of using the same way to root a Galaxy s3 with jellybean?

Welllllllllllllll, since the devices aren't even out yet, it's really hard to make any kind of guesses.
If you go by history, then yes they should be easy to root and the methods should be close to what we use for the GS3.

[Q] Newbie to Root and ROM

I'm looking for a bit of advice. I want to wait to upgrade my Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch, but I'm getting impatient waiting for Sprint. I'd also like to remove the bloatware and improve battery life.
The way I understand getting a ICS rom onto my phone is as follows:
a) Root
b) Apply ROM
Can anyone point me to a good article on rooting my phone and also what a good quality ROM would be? I jailbroke my iPhone and iPod Touch in the past and that was very easy...so this seems a little more involved and felt it best to ask for advice.
Also, if I were to root or ROM the device and wanted to go back to factory settings, what's the best way to do so? If I backup with the thick client Kies app, will it allow me to restore the device easily?
Thanks!

[Q] Should I root the Galaxy Note 2 now?

Hello all,
I was wondering if the thread --> [2012.11.08][SGH-I317/M] CF-Auto-Root v1.0 in the original android development is the only way to root the galaxy note 2 (at&t). Is it just "in the works"? is my main concern.
I know the possibility of methods being released later down the months when there is more support and development for the device.
The phone just came out so I'm not expecting a whole lot, but I was just concerned that maybe I should wait on rooting until a more stable method is released. I'm just worried that if I root I may not be able to go back to another method. Should I just root it now? Is there any benefit to rooting now vs later down the road?
Couldn't be any easier to do... Took like 1 minute from beginning to end. There is nothing unstable about it.

It's truly a matter of personal opinion whether or not to root. Some of us flashaholics can't wait and some of us are trying to hold out until at least the first official OTA unless something comes out that we just can't resist lol
There are a few apps I'm missing right now by not rooting but then again the phone does damn near everything I need/want without customization/rom flashes. I would like to experience the multi view feature but I suppose in due time it will be here.

Yeah when is that multi-view feature coming? I thought it was supposed to be built into the software already...but yeah I agree with you. It depends on personal choice. I was wondering if the current root method was stable...

Rooting is a personal thing. I'm a flashaholic to the core but I'm waiting for at&t to give us the OTA we need for split screen. I'm waiting for the right ROM to be cooked up before I even root my baby. But hey, that's just my personal preference right now.

Rooting is worth it just to do nandroids, triangle away w/ a custom kernel (reset counter) & Titanium Backup (apps).

Samsung Galaxy Axiom (SCH-R830) Root Help

Hello,
Anyone have any suggestions on how on can root the Axiom? I've done some digging on this and can't find anything substantial. It's a US variant of the S3 mini, with a different processor. There's a stock ROM over on TUSC.
As the processor is different, is there any reason to think S3 mini options will work for this phone? Is it just that it's new enough that the support isn't available yet, or is it niche and likely never to happen?
Edit: There's an ODIN flashable rom with root access in that same stock rom thread on TUSC.
easy way to root
a fast and easy way to root your Samsung axiom is use unlock root.com works fast for root and unroot

Axiom isn't even listed on that site... assuming your reply wasn't just spam.

I have rooted my Axiom. Teamuscellular.com has a root guide which works quite well. The issue though is there is no custom rom for the device so if you want to Root to get rid of Ads and have more control over what you can do it will work fine.
Can't post a link just yet here but if you go their site you will find it.
And now cricket has it as the Admire 2. The device is SCH-R830C....but from what I can tell its pretty much a duplicate of the Axiom, probably very similar to the old Admire // Vitality.
Its a screamer for the price, benching over 10k on Antutu and Vellamo's scores have it above the S3.
cricketusers.com forum have a method to root the Admire2. (fyi).

[Q] A couple questions about rooting and Multi-Window display.

I was just wondering what rooting a phone actually does? Like what are the benefits?
Sorry if that's a dumb question, just never really rooted a phone before.
As of right now I have everything I want in my Note 3, and the only thing I am wanting right now is to add more apps to my Multi-Window display
So jumping to my second question off of that last statement I was wondering if I could get any other apps on my Multi-Window display WITHOUT rooting?
I've looked at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024399 about rooting a Galaxy Note 2 with Verizon, but after following all the steps it doesn't seem to work for my T-Mobile Note 3, so I'm stuck.
I just want to know what all I can do by rooting and what the negative/positive sides of rooting your phone is? I have heard from people that rooting can "brick" your phone-or something? Idk.
I just don't want my phone to break!

You can't use the rooting procedure for the Note 2 to root Note 3. Each phone has different procedure to root. You'll need to find the procedure for the Note 3 for your carrier. I'm also currently trying to find a thread to root a Note 3 as I'm getting one today, so I'll try to edit this post with the link to the thread.
EDIT: this is the method to root the Note 3: Universal Root de la Vega. Please spend a LOT of time reading and rereading the thread as you can damage your phone if mess up
Cheers,

[Q] I finally have a Samsung Galaxy tablet

Lets start out with today I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1". Its been a few years of seeing these tablets and I finally jumped into it. I just got it today so this whole thing is all new to me but its Android and Android is Android to me. I have the HTC One through Sprint. Its all rooted and has an unofficial Beanstock rom. I really like this rom so I really would like to put it on this tablet, but I know that Samsung and HTC are different. The only thing I would like to do is root the tablet and keep all of the Samsung stuff thats on it. I see that most of the info I find is for the Samsung tab 7". Any help would be appreciated but I found a way to root any Tablet using google but would like an official word on the best way to root this one.

Why aren't you looking in the galaxy tab 3 10 development thread?
Sent from my GT-P5210 using Tapatalk
Sorry for the delay but I have it rooted already. Thank you for the replys but I ended up using Google and finding someone that had done it. I followed there instructions but when it came down to installing the root file I couldn't find it on the tablet. I ended up just removing the SD card, using my pc and transferred the file directly, remounted the SD card and installed the root file. Its rooted and I'm so happy. I was a little lery when I seen this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432467
But after doing the instruction on the page I found using Google it seamed to be the same and it works without issues.
