HTC Locations... Disappointed in Route66. - HTC One X

Hi all.
So I recently upgraded from an HTC Inc S to my shiny new One X. I bought an unlimited license for HTC Locations Navigation on my Inc S as I use navigation very often for work etc.
Yesterday I emailed [email protected] with my old and new IMEI numbers thinking that a perpetual license should be transferable to a new device. Well, that turned out to be wrong. Naieve of me to think so looking back.
They replied this morning saying that's "not possible". Bulls**t, not possible... I get their reasons, just think it's a bit greedy.
Just thought I'd let people know if they were considering a perpetual license that it's non-transferable.

it is , or at least was between several dhds that i had, i haven't got round to it for one x yet, but if they refuse ill be going after refund!

Did you try writing to htc to see if they will help?

Licence transfer is done by HTC support. Just contact them, they transferd mine (licence from a HTC Desire running a custom Rom) to my new One X without problems.

Agree with kdsone above. I transferred my perpetual licence from my DHD, through two One S' and again on to my current One X. Drop an email to HTC through their website support. Took about 48 hours to all go through from memory.

Oh, awesome! I went direct to Route 66 but will give HTC a try. Thanks for replies people.

Similar experience. I brought my device for servicing and the board was changed due to some defects and caused a change if IMEI. route66 was not being helpful and htc support immediately took action when I sent them a "complain" email..

[Q] HTC Desire not on HTC website

hey guys ive searched for htc desire on htc's official website, but i cant seem to find it. any ideas where it has gone ???
Went ages ago. It's on some. Maybe HTC Europe but not HTC UK

I think our beloved devices have reached the end of their lifespan as far as promotion and sales go. after the 2.3.3 from htc we are considered redundant.
At we have the awesome devs here at xda

This is really sad... Why did they removed from the HTC Official Website...
HTC Desire is now becoming a collector's item ..heheee
MIZO kan hmel a tha
This makes me want to think twice before buying the Sensation... I don't want my phone to be history after 1-2 years

[Q] Why is everyone so willing to use HTCDev

I'm curious as to why everyone is so willing to use HTC dev to unlock their bootloader as opposed to wait/find for third-party solutions that don't compromise your rights to solid hardware?

Because I can't wait and so far I have no problem with Htc Centre for warranty claims for both my One V and there is no problem yet for my One X to send in to Htc Centre.
Boredem?
Like anything if you change your suspension on a car it invalidates some warranty . I did it because I wanted to enjoy my new one x. Y wait if something is already there.

This way is a fair contract between HTC and the user. That´s why i prefer HTC Dev. I know about the risks. If one rom damages my device, i have to take responsibility, like for all, i´ve decided in my life. I won´t hide me behind a bush
I unlocked with htcdev because my phones insured, if anything goes wrong I'll just make a claim saying I've lost it

Well, why not right? They already gave us one free step which can also be reverted.
Typed with XDA Premium on OneX
I have a constant need to mod every thing I own.

Because my phone is from 3UK, so was only one choice to use HTC Dev and I unlocked bootloader. For me it was very easy and simple task.

hox to the one whos tempted

trying to resist the temptation to upgrade but not going well ,whos making the jump and what upgrade deals are you getting

I am really tempted to upgrade, however I keep telling myself that if I just let my 2 year contract expire, the phones that will be out in that time will be a lot better then the one.

I was really very tempted to get HOX when it got announced last year which I of course bought. Somehow I don't feel that about ONE. I guess that's because I am completely happy with my HOX, and prefer the way it looks comparing to the one. Not planning to upgrade anytime soon and the reason is not that I can't afford

Not seen it myself but I'll never get a phone with edge to edge screen again like my broken screen hox that's for sure.

Already having words with my friend that works in phones4u to see how much an early upgrade would sting me, very very tempted, is it me, or is this THE best looking android headset made to date ?

There is a developer model available, ships SIM free with bootloader unlocked, I'm not 100% sure that it will be s-off but it does say fully unlocked, no mention about warranty but it seems there trying hard to give the community they want.

I would have seriously considered it, but i feel it is going to be let down badly by the camera.
Guess i will wait & see what the inevitable refresh of the design will be. (who said One+)
No. I have the hox.
No more HTC unless they remove their crappy implementation of s-off and locking bootloaders.
The only way I'll ever go back to HTC is if they make another nexus device. Barring that....I'll stay with Samsung (I have an s3 as well, as you can see by my tapatalk sig

tempted about the One, im not a big fan of sense 5 but the phone definately looks slick... and we 'should' get s-off since it's qualcomm and not tegra.
I think that the s4 has more to offer. But my pick would be the nexus 5

apart from the battery and the camera i dont think the s4 has got that much more.. good looking device but i think the alluminium unibody of the One is nicer. and probably most of the people here prefers sense over touchwiz. indeed two top specs phones!
definitely tempted with One. Also signed up for the supposely $100 rebate from HTC. Who knows...I might buy the One to get the rebate and sell it hopefully at a higher price. :fingers-crossed:...unless I decide to keep it

It's STILL alive and kicking!
If it hadn't committed suicide off my bedside table i'd still be happily using it.
The One's so hard to resist not getting. By far the nicest Android powered device in a long time.

Htc one x s off?

I read this website and it says you can get s off for htc one x. http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...e-htc-one-xl-and-droid-dnaheres-how-to-do-it/. Has anyone tries it?
Sent from my One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Don't try it, does not work. There is no method to s-off your tegra hox. Only certain shops can provide the service but you have to pay them, pay them a visit or send your phone in !
The article is a year old, don't you think xda would not have been exploding on how to s-off the hox with all sorts of info !
Even latest methods like rum runner won't work. A bit of searching would have brought you to numerous threads about this....

Hardware batch revisions new release

I will out definitely be purchasing one of these little beauties. As I deliberately abstained from the One, waiting for the M8
However, I do have a question; is it worth waiting a few months for manufacturing to iron out any issues before buying ?
Hardware or board revisions tend to change or is this not an issue with HTC anymore ?
Cheers
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
every device/company improves manufacturing as the device ages.
Ultimately its your decision to make.
Thanks, I will wait a few months I think on my poor old one X.

Playing the waiting game on technology is always a tough call, and in the end there is always something better coming so it is just a matter of picking the time when you are ready and the device suits you. If you wait a couple months to buy the M8 there will be news of the Note 4, LG G3, iPhone 6, and possibly some new HTC's (mini/max).
Personally I go with the early order straight from AT&T, if I have any issues I walk in to a store and exchange it no biggie.
