maybe he meant 'clue'
btw i used to do symbian cooking before and there we have kitchen and have to throw in mods in 'core' and some sis extractors to integrate software directly in the cfw and removers to delete bloatware.
besides adding tweaks and stuff in hex what else do need to learn to make complex changes in firmwares?
is c and java required or its just copy, paste edit?

No. Please, just no.
Why? Is that a bad idea?
You're better off learning how to appropriately theme ROMs. Either building a theme as a flashable zip, or releasing your own ROM.
biohazrd51, it's a theme with apps from Xperia, so I don't thins it's a theme

It's too hard to make a ROM, maybe coz I work alone XD

Help with my theam.

OK so I'm trying to learn how to them but I a little stuck. OK so I opened framework. A pk then all the drawables made all my changes. I changed the dialer the text select and all of the top icons like batt status and a whole bunch of stuff. Then i made a zip. Of the framework folder and the meta.inf but it would trybtp install the ROM. So I had to re flash my ROM. Then what I did was I took the meta.inf from another theme. And made that into a zip along with my framework folder. This made some of the changes that I made but not all of them. For ex didn't change the batt colors. But it changed the dialer. Didn't change non of the toggles at the top but it changed the pop up browser... Help plzz.

But can anybody tell me why when I used the meta.inf from the ROM it would b a failed flash. Until I took the meta.inf from a another theme? Is there something in the meta.inf that I need to edit... Can you point me in the right direction.

A ROM's updater-script is a lot different than a themes. The reason it failed is because a ROM's script checks for certain files before flashing (such as the kernel, certain apps, etc...). When it saw your zip didn't have it, it aborted the flash.

Wow, didn't know I was known here lol. I accidentally came here. I meant to go to T-Mobile s2 but came to s3 lol. Glad I could help anyway. I wouldn't mod a ROM's updater-script. You're better off using someone else's theme and replacing your own files with there's. Which of course, you already did so you're on the right track.

May be. I donno, I'm not good at these stuffs. As you can see the link provided holds the ported s3 player for s2 but even it has some non-working features. I think you can try porting this thing as I've seen you do some miraculous stuffs And how well would it be, almost every touchwiz ROM coming up would be perfect with it. But as usual the choice is yours. I just wish someone could do it...!!!

Try to add custom progress horiziontal or try to remove @android:style=seekbar
Remove @android: and make @style
Then add custom valeus in styles
Or u could make a new xml with the prgreess bar
And ad a <include android:include @ layout/progressyvar
Such kind of line

Kernels - a kernel is the part of android (linux) which sits between the hardware(cpu, screen, camera etc) and the firmware(system)
A kernel is made of different parts
The two main parts are the:
InframsFS - this contains the location of the system and how to start the system, it also contains recovery menus and things to do during boot
Zimage (dont know official name) - this contains drivers and limits, it also contains information about things, for example it contains information about your CPU, it also contains how far your cpu can go, it also has safty limits, like if your phone stars overheating then it down clocks your processor to stop your phone from melting
If needed you can ask more
