UPDATE: PICTURES ADDED Slim Magnetic (Trifold) Cover Case - Galaxy Note 10.1 Accessories

UPDATE: PICTURE ADDED!
There are a total of 6 magnets on the case (as you can see in pic 1 and 2). most of you might have concerns of how the magnet will affect the tablet. i can tell you from my experience that IT DOES NOT AFFECT MY S PEN capabilities. They use the 6 magnets so that when folding the cover, it will stay together. And because of the magnet when its folded its VERY strong, not flimsy.
S Pen is also accessible shown in pic 7
Charger is accessible shown in pic 8.
Top isnt cover well, the volume and power button visible as you can see in pic 9
Overall the case is very thin, about 1.3 cm?? But it does feel like it added some weight onto the tablet.
ALSO: this case comes with a screen protector (the one that i have on, i did screw up a few times)
Lemme know if you have any questions

My only concern is if the magnet is strong enuff to affect our s-pen. i sorta did a test which i place a magnet near my screen and attempted to draw around it...had some slight issues i dunno the exact strength of the magnet that i used.

I'm curious how it will work our as well. looks like a reasonably priced, nice looking case.

ya, when i get it imma post up some pics. but the main reason why i got it was for the magnetic clip, which can be tucked/fold in when its trifolded (<=not sure if its a word)

But having any magnets next to an electronic device spells disaster.

Well they can't hurt the memory unlike if you have a hard drive in there, but my concern is that I bought a poetic case which has two magnets on each corner of the case near the speakers. At least they aren't anywhere close to the pen.

yea thats what i was somewhat worry about. there are a total of 4 magnets (as seen from vid) and when closed all 4 are pretty much around the camera area, which is also where the mobo is located as well i think...

review?
Has anyone purchased this case who can share their experience?

I sent a question to the seller to see what they had to say

I'll be all over this after a review. Looks like the magnet may be in a bad spot when standing up in landscape mode...

The company said this about the magnets
dont worry, we have tried it , no interference with the magnets

I have one. I think it's great, especially at that price. There's a little give in it when typing with it propped up in landscape (at a small angle, with the tablet "upside down") but it's very stable otherwise. Only other problem is that it doesn't close if anything's plugged in to the headphone jack.

My first thought was why did they not cover fully the back of the note, it looks like they have little wings sticking out the back on the sides. If they made a cover with the back completely covered with the same material I would definitely buy one.

Yeah it looks like they didnt cover the part that secured the tablet in place.
This is the case I have:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088I9AX4/ref=oh_details_o03_s01_i00
and I enjoy it. It covers the tablet nicely, easy access to the pen, in landscape on a table, the top is elevated about half and inch or so to give a nice little angle on the device. Also it can easily be set to sit up with 3 different angles in the landscape mode. Slim and sturdy construction as well with decent padding.

How do you feel about the case after having it for a few days? And how is the fit? Does the Note snap in tightly? I have a $7 poetic trifold, but don't like that the bezel is covered. I really like the looks of this case, but would like to hear a bit more about it.

I actually like it ALOT. when its in trifold mode, especially laying down for typing its very sturdy, it DOESNT wiggle or move at all.
and YES its a good fit for the tablet, as long as you dun hold it by the cover and wiggle it vigorously. As you know there are only 3 corners supporting the tablet, since we need the opening for s pen, but from my experience if you simply push the s pen corner (the corner that isnt cover) it can easily pop up.
lemme know if you have any other questions.
ALSO the magnets DOES NOT affect the screen for me.

I got this with my tab at the launch on the 8th in NYC. I still have not opened it because I am not sure if I want to keep it or buy the official Samsung one. They did give us the free leather pouch but I want a stand ability as well. I am so torn....
I just got my tab yesterday and got this case with it. I really do like it. It feels really good and the bit of weight it adds makes the tab feel more secure when carrying it around.
I got the soft case myself. I wanted to minimize the additional weight.

yea I was gonna wait it out for the Samsung case, but it looks like you won't be able to stand it on different angles like the Belkin. it's good to be able to prop the tab on your lap like a laptop and for watching videos.
Question to other owners of this case
does yours have a second/unnecessary cutout underneath the left speaker hole cutout? I have it on mine and I don't see the purpose of it.

Yes, probably for a SIM card or a microSD card which never happened.
I like the feel of this case but the only thing I DO NOT like about it is that it doesn't "close." There is no velcro or magnetic closure of any sort so mine is going back as soon as I find something else.

ah well like I said I havent opened it yet, I will potentially since your point about the angles is a valid point. I think you kinda can make angles with the samsung one though but in a not very sturdy way since it uses the flap to hold itself up in the back creating a "^" look
I have this one too, in the blue color. I don't understand the purpose of the cutout on the left side. Anyone have any ideas?

I just realized that you can close it. If you turn the elastic strap.. it goes over the cover flap
So far I like it. Makes it feel like a book. Don't like the extra weight it gives, but I guess that's protection etc. Looking at the Samsung book case. Might switch them out. We will see.

Its essentially the same design as the verve but not leather.
In a previous post someone linked a youtube review to the verve. In regards to the typing angle issue in that the reviewer brings up, I've gotten around that by typing on the tab with the camera side down. This allows you slide the latched section of the case beneath the tab for a great typing angle.
My only beef with the case is the charging issue which was stated in a previous post

I'd have to disagree on your point about typing angle. You can get the angle as low as the comparison case you had there. The bottom of the slide in flap is grippy, so it stays on the edge of the cover. I'm typing at that low angle now and on my lap.
Actually you can close it, there's a strap that you can flop over to hold it closed.
Think it's an excellent product with one flaw: can't use it properly (i.e. propped up) while charging the device. The charger plugs in on the bottom.

I grabbed my case using the coupon code shared in another thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138526) and wanted to share the pros and cons of the "official" case.
IT'S SOLID
It's not surviving a fall from a table, but to be thrown in a laptop bag or luggage, this thing will protect your tablet. The case is made of a hardened plastic with a textured surface. The edges turn a little bit tougher to hold your tablet in place. There's not a lot of give in the design -- if you knock on it, it's like a piece of wood, so it's not absorbing any impact if you happen to drop objects on top of it.
IT OPENS THE WRONG WAY
This may seem like picking at something small, but it seems to be a big mistake in the overall design -- Opening the cover puts the hinge at the top (camera, power button, volume buttons). This caused a few issues in my first few times of use. When closing the cover, it would inadvertently press the power button bringing up the Power Options. Also, and this is a much smaller issue, this places the front facing camera at the bottom when the case is opened and pitched for ease of use.
THE CUTOUTS ARE POINTLESS
The biggest surprise, especially after having the power button hit a few times in error, is that there's a cutout for the headphone jack and rear camera. The designers included a port to connect your headset while the case is closed, but there's no cutout or indent for the other buttons along the top. While a headphone jack may make sense while closed, a camera cutout doesn't. While this means you can use the camera while the case is opened, that also means holding your case and tablet like an open book to take a picture. Chances are, if you really want a picture that badly with your Tab, you'll remove it from the case at that point.
The lack of cutouts or indents for the power button is the only major issue with the case, but a big one, because you may open the case to find your screen wide awake for you.
IT'S CLASSY
Versus the rest of the potential cases for the 10.1, this seems to be the classiest. The case is solid, the branding puts the Galaxy Tab's logos up front but minimal and it keeps the slimline design in check.
MAGNETIC CLASP
While other cover/cases use a range of different tricks, this case keeps it minimal with a built in magnetic clasp. When you fold back the flap, it attracts to the back and holds itself closed. It's simple and keeps the weight and bulk down.
OVERALL, IT'S GOOD
It's a solid case that doesn't add bulk, protects the screen well and looks slick. The matted and textured surface doesn't show fingerprints. For a tablet that prides itself on it's slimline design, this case doesn't add much (if any) bulk in an effort to protect your slate. I'd recommend, but advise if you plan to open/close your cover often, the power button issue may become annoying.
More pics of the case at http://www.flickr.com/photos/gothamtommy/sets/72157627073508817/
I do wish it opened the other way as I have mine propped up mostly and I don't like it upside down. It also makes the camera basically unusable as you have to hold the back cover above it while video taping.
My main gripe, however, is the little flap stays loose when the case is opened. They could have added a stronger magnet there and have it stick to the back cover so it doesn't dangle around. Why didn't they do that?! Tsk tsk tsk...
thanks for sharing

didnt weight it but the whole package is 400g according to expansys and another source
seeing the tons of plastic of the package i'd say 250g or less
to me this Book cover is the best case for the tab, best thing about it is that it always stays clean (no dirt stick to it, and it doest becomes ashy even though its black)
9.389 ounces = ~266g
i recently bought this case, really nice, and i agree with all your negative points. I read somewhere else that using a screen cover/sheild will interfere with the case, is anyone using a screen protector with this case? and if so which one, thanks!

The case itself might stay clean, but the screen of the tablet, which is the most important, doesn't. I feel that having the part of the lid that makes contact with the screen as a base is just a bad idea.
i actually just got the case, and i dont midn it too much, a bit inconvenient to take pics tho and i wish it had a spot to store the stylus lol
Don't know why everyone wants screen protectors...the GalaxyTab uses Corning's GorillaGlass and should be safe against most scratching.

I'm not worrying about getting it scratched. I'm just annoyed at the dirt it collects from whatever surface it was opened on.
I have the case and I'm not super impressed. I actually ordered a pyro skin case and its on its way. I like the slim form factor of the oem, but the stand options aren't that great in some situations.
I've yet to make my mind up....maybe I'll keep both.

I really like mine. I have the leather pouch, which will work great when I travel with keyboard dock for a light mobile work station.
I then will use this case when ill be more mobile or supplementing along side my work laptop. If you don't need camera hole, I think you can simply put tab in upside down compared to the camera cutout. Then you can leave screen auto rotate off. But the nice thing about the as is fit is the port for charging is on top. So you don't have to worry about the cable and port being pressed in awkwardly against surface.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
I received the case yesterday and so far it is OK. I the best thing about it is the sleek factor. Othe than that, but like people have mentioned it will not provide any fall protection. This is mainly to keep it safe while transporting it in your backpack. One thing that really bothers me is the chose they made for which side will be up and down. Right now up is the side with the headphone jack and there is a hole there for it. Now if you have headphones plugged in, then you have to unplug the headphones before you can open the tab and vice versa you have unplug it to Close it again.
The easy solution is to flip it upside down, still very dumb design choices by Samsung
OK. I have used it more today and keep opening up to find the tablet is off. Anyone having this issue?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
This case if awful in many ways:
The orientation is wrong when in landscape (camera should be at top when standing up on table using case flap).
It is SO hard to take pics with the case on..you have to hold the device with one hand and hold the flap up so it doesn't block the cam at the same time..so stupid.
You have to constantly keep moving the flap out of the way and keep it held against the case when it is flipped open to use the Tab. Why in God's name would they make it so that the flap isn't somehow held out of the way? Like another magnet or a magnetic clasp something...
The flap used as a stand never stays against the "groove" in the case..it's always whipping back out, making it almost useless as a support...nice freakin design.
You can accidentally press the power button even when the case is closed...if you push down on the "hinge" area, it is soft enough to easily press the button underneath.
The worst though is that like someone said, when the case is closed, covering the screen..somehow that I just don't get, there is tons of white dust-like stuff making it's way under the cover, onto the screen. Every single time I close the thing and had the case and screen pefectly clean, I will reopen the case after a while and all this white dust stuff is all over the screen again. If you continue using this case I guarantee you will get more dust in the device and under the screen.
Screw this expensive case (the only thing I like is the finish/feeling of it and the size/slimness- which is too bad considering the flaws), I now use the smoke version of this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200624247046&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT and it is freakin awesome. So much better than the book case despite not having a cover.
Now I am stuck with a $60 case that I don't want and I'm too lazy to go setup a page to sell it on eBay or something or to return it to Samsung lol

Taurus Aluminium Bumper case - Fit AT&T SGII Variant?

I know there are a few (<1mm) dimensional differences between the OEM and ma bell's variant. Anyone actually try to see if it fits?
EDIT:
So, just got the case, and glad to say that it is a perfect fit, save for the top mic being slightly covered (which is fairly immaterial imo).
The fit and finish are absolutely top grade. The case does not seem to affect radio signals nor accessibility of the battery cover, headphone jack, speaker and microphone.
It's important to note that the phone with the bumper on feels nice and secure in my hands. I have 'standard-sized' hands, and found the phone alone slippery, as if it were about to jump out of my hands at any point. After adding the bumper, grasping the side of the phone makes it feel much more secure and actually easier to use. Much less awkward.
On with the pictures.

Really big box for a small package inside.
Shows where to install foam tape.
Very nice and snug fit, with zero play- before adding foam tape.
Foam tape in place now that I know the phone fits well.
Perhaps they left this bare for a wrist strap? Though, I didn't notice a slot for one on the international version. In any case (pun?), the bumper case seems to extrude far beyond the exposed part.
Not the best angle, but the loudspeaker is perfectly centered, and fully exposed.
Note the mic port (bottom of phone). Fully exposed, near-perfect alignment.
The volume and power buttons are still easily triggered, although they seem recessed within the bumper. You have to use the cushioning of the finger, as opposed to the tip however.
Standard headphone jack fits snugly, without contacting the bumper.
The tiny bump on the back of the case, part of the headphone jack surround, provides a 1mm clearance. Since the camera module slightly protrudes, the actual camera clearance, at it's lowest point, is about a 0.5mm. While this is far from sufficient on a rough surface, it is good to know that sliding it across a flat surface such as a table or desktop will not damage the camera.
A good 1mm+ of clearance on the front side.
will be good.
u can order
thanks. hope i'm not a guinea pig here
let me know how it goes for you... i'd love to use one of these.

Word of warning - I bought the case mate case with the metal back (http://www.case-mate.com/Samsung-Ga...-S-II-Barely-There-Brushed-Aluminum-Cases.asp).
Very nice case but killed GPS.
Without the case immediate fix.. with the case no fix at all. Had to get rid of.
I have a feeling all metal cases will have the same issue.
I wonder if that was just because of the metal back, or just metal in general. I hadn't read anything negative about the Taurus bumpers, in regards to GPS signal.
Worth testing though, having just come from a Captivate I'm a little sensitive about my phones GPS capabilities

With the european version and the Taurus GPS works perfect! Really a great bumper, I hope it fits for you guys!
We're talking about a .7mm difference in height as the biggest difference in size between the two devices. I know it's aluminum, but it's SO close... unless it's landing-on-the-moon precise, I feel like it's got to fit!
I hope so anyway, every other case I've seen is gigantic and really defeats the purpose of having such a slim phone.
No GPS Issues (still works indoors)
Gives a great sturdy feeling.
DOES NOT provide any clearance to the rear camera lens (stock battery).
Very very close to the same offset on the backside.
Gave me my missing Lanyard attachment point via a loop through the speaker hole.
I'm loving it in Gunmetal

Yea what do you mean with no camera clearance?. I have the generic Case mate one at the moment but would love a metallic one as that would go epic great together with my keyport.
But do you have any links to where it can be bought?

Ugh it provides no protection to the camera like the CaseMate one does. The case mate cover at least lifts the rest of the phone high enough so that the camera bit is not extending out beyond the backside and thus you avoid scratches to the lens etc.

Ahhh... Gotcha. Assuming that's the worst of it, I'm ordering one as soon as I see a picture of this case on an AT&T SGS2.

I mean, I wouldn't mind a full metal one. IF it actually covered the back as well and lifted the general phone off the deck enough for the camera "housing" to not scratch against the table etc.

Agreed. What makes me even more optimistic is the fact that if you check out some installation videos on Youtube, when applying the case, you place a rubberized seal between the bumper and the phone itself. This protects the phone from the bumper itself, and also provides a more snug fit, as opposed to a hard-on-hard surface.
I expect the case later today (10/14/11). Promise to report how it goes as soon as I get my hands on it, and will include UHQ photos of the install.
Perhaps this thread should be moved to 'AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Accessories'?
My bad.
Post your mini review with pictures in the ATT thread, with a link here. No harm, no foul!

RingkeSlim case-Original & LTE Comparison photos

Got my revised Ringke Slim case today.
Here are comparison pics of the original Ringke Slim vs the revised Ringke Slim
This is on my LTE gNex, extended battery with the battery door removed.
Note how the top end of the phone does not go all the way into the case as it's meant to.

Here is the New version meant for LTE with extended battery+battery door ON
The GSM version on my LTE phone was really nice... although it did just start developing cracks(known issue) because of the stress from the impropper fit
This new version fits perfect. It adds a hair of thickness since the hump that contours to the stock battery door hump is now filled in.
It can be seen here
Hope this helps some of you out
Is there a reason you're not using the battery door in the new case?
Thanks for the pics!
No prob.

Nice photos. Still wish the case at least offers some form of protection for placing the phone face down.
Guess I will stick to my Ultra Hybrid.
great pictures for comparison. can you tell me how it looks and fits with the standard battery on? if it's not too much trouble, maybe just one picture. if not, it's ok; words are fine. thank you very much.

It sorta does. Look at the last pic. On the left with the phone in the case, because of the subtle arc our screens have there's a small gap.

incredible photos. what kind of camera do you use? that is astounding.
Does anyone have some pics of the White or Metallic for the LTE that they could share?
good pictures and good product but this will not provide any real support if the phone falls on a hard surface and case will go fly to the other side of the room

It wont go flying, it fits VERY tightly, almost impossible to take it off actuallt. I'm more wprried aboit being able to take it off to put in a new battery then it flying off when dropped.

Thanks for pointing it out coz I was comparing it with the photos of the old case. The new one does go up all the way to the edge of the screen.
I'm probably gonna order one soon after figuring this out
Now if this somehow would fit a holster....I'd be set.

Recieved mine today to, fits so nice. 1st case that is going to make me ditch my Diztronic 3rd gen for.
Got mine today, LOVE it.
The new case will protect the front. The top and bottom portions of the case create a small lip so while face down, everything would be resting on those lips and the phone would be protected. Just the sides are open.
Perfect fit. My new case. The trusty diztronic v3 is now officially off duty.
The only downside is my pogo pings are halfway covered. I'm fine with them covered but they shoulda either left them exposed or fully concealed. The case literally covers half of each pin.

I tried the OEM smaller battery with the cover and there's really no difference. You might be able to push the back of the case in a little but the fit is still good.
Here's more photos of the new case from the back

It's an old Nikon D50. The camera really isn't so great, but as long as you have a good lens and use lighting right you get good shots

What he said. It's hard to pull this case off. I really doubt it'll come off if you drop it.

This bothers me too. My concern is when (if ) we ever get a legit car dock, how that'll effect the connection. If there's an issue I won't let it be a deal breaker. I'll hit it with a dremel to make it work
I bought the white, but after seeing these photos, I may have to go and pick up a black case too.

Any chance of some pictures of the case as it fits in the holster?
When you say "pretty good" -- is it wobbly, snug, other?
Also: how does the Ringke case do with the Seidio clip at the top of the holster? Can you pop the phone in/out of the holster with one hand, without the clip damaging the Ringke case? Also wondering if the clip will wind up scratching the case... any thoughts?
Jon
I got the metallic one as people said it most closely matched the actual phone. It's pretty close. Just a little bit darker. I wish it wasn't so glossy though - seems like it will scratch up. I might have to go with the matte black instead. Still looks pretty good I think.
Sorry for the quality of the shots, I'm no photographer.

Review of Yoobao TPU Case Stand w/pics!!!

This is a review of Yoobao Note 2 TPU Case Stand: http://www.kevikev.com/Yoobao-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II-2-N7100-360-TPU-Case-Stand-YB360TPUNOTE2.htm
Along with Yoobao Thunder external battery, I also received this very unique Yoobao case. I think it will be hard to amuse anybody with yet another N2 case since we got every variation covered already. This one is different from everything I have seen. When looking into a slim case category, usually the choice is either TPU case or a slim plastic shell/case. This one combines both into one by offering a hard plastic back fused with a TPU border/sides. The hard plastic back is made out of thick transparent material with a unique frosted matte finish. It also feels scratch resistant, I tried to scratch it with my nail - no marks at all. The TPU sides have a very nice grip around the phone with hardly any pulling at all. It also gives you a good grip to hold on to with N2 in your hand. Power and volume buttons are covered and very responsive and easy to push. All the openings are perfectly aligned. The TPU bumper wraps around the phone with an acceptable lip so there is no problem putting the phone down on it's screen. I had clearance even with my tempered glass screen protector.
And speaking of screen protector, Yoobao also included one with this case. I didn't install it, but it felt premium quality, not a typical flimsy stuff you get from ebay. It also comes with a very generous micro-fiber piece of cloth. Pretty much this is a very nice looking slim TPU/PC hybrid case that will give you a good protection for everyday basic use and also will showcase your Note 2 very nicely since the back is semi-transparent. If that's not enough, Yoobao kicked it up another notch by including a very unique rotating kickstand. The kickstand itself is flush mounted with a back of the case, so placing the case down will not make it wobble. Also, the mechanism looks more durable than average plastic kickstands. What makes it especially unique is the way how it rotates 360 degrees by allowing to place your N2 in both portrait and landscape modes. Also, once extended you can hold on to this kickstand like a trigger for an easier grip of the phone, for example when you are in bed reading or watching the movie. I do have to mention that I had no issue opening kickstand on black case, while the aqua was a little hard to open which actually be fixed by filing the sides of the stand. I think its a minor thing.
I actually like this case very much because it offers something very unique to make your phone stand out from other slim TPU or plastic cases. With addition of an integrated kickstand and a bonus screen protector for under $14 I think its a great value. It comes in two colors, black and aqua. I didn't even expect that I will like aqua color thinking its girly, but it actually looks really cool with white Note 2. Don't forget, you can still use kk001 coupon to get 10% of with $50 purchase from www.kevikev.com, and I think if you order 2 items from that store you get a free shipping. Just contact them for more details, or I will find out and update it later. Just keep in mind www.kevikev.com is the only US licensed/authorized Yoobao dealer who also honors their warranty.

Uh, good point! In addition to kickstand, you also get screen protector and less than half of cover+ price.
It isn't really holding it up in portrait is it? I mean unless you're standing right over top of it.
It's a novel idea, but they didn't really pull it off did they?

True, this is not a cradle to put the phone in a complete upright position. In the picture I took, you have a little more room for adjustment to bring the angle up, but not by too much. To be honest, I can't even of why would anybody need to use their phone in portrait mode. Most of the people need it in landscape to watch the movie anyway.

Portrait would work better for reading text, such as a recipe you are cooking from, or an ereader program with automated page turns. A stand is nice when you are doing something that makes your hands dirty.
I use portrait a lot for this forum and for my yahoo messenger app.
On the messenger app the stupid on screen keyboard covers the whole conversation if it's in landscape.
I'm usually using it like this if I'm in the bathroom getting ready to go somewhere or in the kitchen making dinner or something like that.

So can you take another pic with it in its full upright position and add it to the op? I would consider this case if it did both positions well.

One question, does the back of the kickstand come directly in contact with the battery cover?
I will take more pictures and double check if there is a contact with a battery door once I get home!
Looks good, but portrait is a joke. I only have one case that does portrait well in a mybat case. Problem with that is makes an already big phone even bigger. Almost as big as the Otterbox Defender. Works well though.
Looking for a slim line case that does both portrait and landscape well. This would do it, if portrait was better.
Appreciate your due diligence though in all these accessories and reviews. Well done yet again!
Fancy pants Note ||
To confirm, the kickstand doesn't touch the battery cover. And unfortunately 45deg angle is the best I can do with portrait kickstand position. If the kickstand would have been longer and the spinning disc closer to the middle of the case, it would have been a different story. So if you need to have it more upright - that kickstand wouldn't work. The more I look at it, the more it feels like Samsung Cover+ case with landscape kickstand, and for half the price.
Do you know where we can get these in the UK? Amazon only has one without the kickstand.
