Will it have and led notification like the s3? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just curious about this giant phone. Now that it has quad core coming to the us, it sounds like a win.

It's a safe bet that it will.. I can't wait!!!

Most likely.

I almost settled for the iphone5 and actually preordered it, but will most likely give it to my son.
*ducks*

Yup. It will. Saw it lit in review video on YouTube. Ill post it later on when I can find it.

HD Super AMOLED
2GB of internal RAM
16 GB of onboard file storage
64GB of expandable memory through a microSD card

Which version of videos look better on the Nexus?
Do you record video in 720p or 1080p and why? Personally, I thought the 720p looked better, but I haven't had the time to do intensive testing yet.
I only use 720p because there isn't a place to put my 32 gb sd card.

So basically, you would use 1080p if you had a removable SD card. So, it is a storage limitation for you.
My problem is file size not storage space (I have VZN 32GB). With 1080p the file size is huge, so I stick with 720p
1080p to be able to view it in large screen.

Yeah, I hate having to constantly transfer files to my computer. If I need to a covert a 1080 to a 720, I have the software for that, but not to convert 720 to 1080.

In that case, I'll create a software to do that and sell it to people who believe in 'upscaling'.
It's not that big.
I find that there's no major difference between filming in 720p and 1080p, so I mainly use 720p since I have no huge screen to watch them on.
I would say that 720p looks better on the Galaxy Nexus, as it fits the phones native resolution. You can't fully enjoy a 1080p masterpiece without the screen to match, granted it will still be very high quality.

No, he made a mistake: 720 is 30 fps and 1080 is 24 fps.
Not sure if the Galaxy Nexus and the Epic Touch Galaxy S2 has the same camera or not, but on my Galaxy S2 I noticed that when I record at 1080p the video looks like it is zoomed in or cropped differently from 720p which is why I use 720p on my Galaxy S2.
With 50gb on box.net I'll just upload each video there for safe keeping. until needed.

1. it's no longer box.net, it's called box now, and their address is box.com
2. u r aware that box has 100mb file limit right ?
They have different cameras. I would think that this could affect the aspect ratio and the overall quality of the shots.
Personally I don't record video so I don't have a preference.
I noticed on mine that if I'm recording video with 720p and I touch the screen to take a picture, the picture doesn't look right. It's not framed correctly due to the resolution change. What I saw on the screen is not what I get on the picture.
But when I'm recording with 1080p, the picture looks like how it did on the screen.
I'm on rooted stock 4.0.4 Verizon Nexus.

Well, I will do some testing and make a post about it. Seems like there are a lot of mixed opinions here.

Let's start speculating on the Galaxy 4

I will start first:
Maybe 5"-5.3" screen.
1080p Display
12mp camera
3mp front camera
1.8ghz quad core
2.5gigs ram
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Reallly...the gs3 is barely out
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
I don't know why they would really bother with 1080p display or anything, it is already to the point where normal people can't distinguish the difference in resolution between super high end devices.
No, I don't need a higher resolution screen, I need a more adaptable screen with brighter, realistic colors that still manage to POP. A screen that works just as well outside in the sun as inside in the dark.
Improve the technology we have rather than constantly trying to develop new ways to do what we do that aren't really much, if any, better and are even worse sometimes.
Galaxy s4 will most likely have similar specs to the Galaxy s3.

S4? Lol.
I'm still waiting for my S3.
Same screen size
1080p screen that isn't pentile, and works great in sunlight
don't mind if they stay at 8MP, just better sensors and optics(MP just means a larger image)
4000mAh battery
3MP front facing camera
32GB entry level S4
Build quality like the HTC One X or S imo

Tegra 3? Tegra 3 will be old news this time next year. Anyway, why would Samsung use Tegra 3 when it has Exynos?
the same form factor with the following improvements:
newer display tech
22nm (or better) processor tech
software
all leading to improved battery life and performance
radio speeds wont really get much better, 4g networks are still being improved next gen networks wont be up and running yet. with the same screen size, anything over 720p wont be required. focus will be on code and power efficient tech to improve battery life and os speed.
- 5" bezel-less non-pentile AMOLED
- 2GHz quad-core
- 4GB RAM
- laser beams
- pink unicorns
I want an updated camera and optics. F2.0 and beats iPhone 4gs's camera in every way. I want studder free record and playback of 1080p recording. I also want a mic with built in auto level control so no more distorted vid audio.
4.8 inch screen, super amoled plus, Dual core A15 Exynos and the new Mali Gpu ( I hope)!!! and more motion features tho I don't know what else they can add but you never know!

what camera apps (or mods) are you guys using?

well, coming from the Rezound, the nexus camera has been...quite unimpressive to say the least. comparison shots here:
http://imgur.com/a/r6EOP
the nexus camera seems less focused, less sharp and overall just more blurry. this camera really is just quite bad, IMO, compared to the rest of the phones that came out at teh time (even the motorolas, eww lol) so i'm wondering, what apps are you guys using?
i've been running JB since i got it, and although i love the cool features of the JB camera and the quick shutter speed, i feel the quality of the camera/pictures/videos is not where it should be. therefore, are there any mods to the camera that maybe make it less compressed? (we had a rezound mod that did that, and pics would go from 1.5 mb to 3.5-4 mb, and we made the audio codec encode at a higher bitrate on the videos, along with a higher video bitrate as well)
basically just looking to see what i can do to somewhat make this camera atleast equal or close to my rezound! thanks!
Subscribing. I've been unimpressed with the camera as well and have heard about different camera apps making a difference.
+1 Rezound

Hah, prepare to be disappointed.
I'm gonna guess it'll just be a minor upgrade...
1.8Ghz Tegra 4/Exynos CPU
Standard 8MP camera
2 or 3GB of RAM
4.8" or 5" 720p SAMOLED++ screen, can't say whether they'll use PenTile or not.
One thing it should have is at least 2GB ddr3 maybe even a 128GB storage model, I'm sure the iphone6 will use these parts and Sammy may as well to, since they wIll be the first to produce them in a mobile chip
It needs a usb port on the top and bottom too.
That would be awesome.

They need to do away with ex_sdcard... what's more external than dropbox? add 32 gb of internal and your good.
Well they probably will make it into quad core since the note 2 will come with the exynos chip. They finally support lte. I would still wait for the next galaxy though.
Blasphemy! A new phone coming out that's faster than my phone?! Omg

I like external storage too. They just need to find a better way to utilize it when having large internal storage as well.
Oh, and this is easily the best phone I've owned. I say that about almost every phone I get, but I was just kidding myself if I ever said it with the EVO 3D and EVO 4G. I haven't had one issue with this phone since I bought it. I would have had to already return any HTC phone for some reason or another and I did with the EVO 3D, 4G, and LTE. 3D had screen separation issues, 4G developed a random spot, and the LTE had a weird lighting problem towards the bottom that looked like a string of LEDs were at the bottom of my screen.
I have the evo lte and was thinking about switching to the sg3, I'm not really a fan of the hardware button though. I can't decide that's why I wanted your opinion, I've used your stuff since the original evo.
