S Memo for T989 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I'm using Jedi Knight V2 right now and absolutely loving it.
At first I had a few issues with it because it wasn't smooth and apps froze once in a while and I had to reboot it often. I guess that after a day of headaches it just settled down and I'm a happy man now. Thanks PTMR3 :good:
Anyway I would like to know if anyone knows where I can find and download S MEMO for my Galaxy S2. I love that app but it seems that it was only built for the S3...
Any thoughts about this?

Anyone?

Maybe check the memo forums and see if they can pull the apk for you.

Yes it's the regular one. I wanted SMemo from the Samsung Note but because of the port it doesn't work. A Dev needs to work with it and then we can all be happy.
By the way, I uninstalled this version and went back to color note

How do you push it to system/app?
I tried just instaling it like I would a normal apk but that didn't work so I'm guessing I'm missing something.
Thanks!

Installing it by the normal 'click to install' method will not always work for a system dependent app.
You can install the app via ADB while your phone is connected the computer. Using the ADB method, just type adb push name.apk system/app.
(ADB pull will do the reverse if you'd like to transfer a file to your computer).
or you can use a root capable file manager (i.e. Root Explorer, ES File Explorer, Root Browser, etc...) and just copy and paste the .apk file from your SD card to the system/app folder.
Cheers!

I would rename your current calender to .bak instead of .apk so you still have it. Then using root explorer move this apk to system/apps the long press it. Click change permissions and I believe they should be set to rw/r/r. Good luck!

It's pretty simple. However this process still did not work on my rooted SGSII. But for future reference of these types of system files here ya go.
- Use Root Explorer to place the file in the System/App folder in the directory
- If the new file is a different name then you can easily just place it in that folder ( of course you have to change Root Explorer to R/O mode instead of R/W mode ) - ( if its the same name then just rename the old file to something you can remember )
- Permissions for most apps would be RW, R, R. Just click on the file and select "Permissions". After you do that you do need to re-boot the device to save the settings.
Note: I did try this with this calendar and it did not work. We actually need a SSGSIII Calendar ported to work on an SGII. I am not smart enough to make that happen. Although I would like to be able to do such things someday. Hope this helps at least for future reference.
I'm pledging $10 towards the Dev who can get the S-Calendar ported yo the T-Mobile SGS-2. Maybe more if it is done by Monday. I know it's not a lot, but it's what I can give.

hey man, thank you very much. very helpful!!
although, I cannot install it on my nexus (i9250).
thank you anyway.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but this seemed like the most relevant place to post.
I recently put CarbonROM on my phone and, after playing around with it for a bit, realize I absolutely hate the google calendar and just want my old calendar back. I downloaded the apk provided in this thread and attempted to install it but it says I already have the app. Sure enough, if I go to Settings > Apps, it shows up as Calendar Storage, but there is no icon anywhere, such as in my app drawer, that allows me to load the program. I even tried using QuickShortcutMaker, but it can't find the calendar anywhere in the list of apps to make a shortcut. Does anybody know what I can do?
Same situation here with carbon Rom.
Anyone know how to get it working?

I am not sure, but it would seem, S Planer doesn't work on any other ROM than the Samsung Official ROM.
I don't know why... I've testing a lot of possibilities (replace the original AOKP's apk by the Samsung's apk, do a wipe Dalvik, wipe cache, modify the permissions...), a lot of apk (recovered here, recovered on an original v4.1.2 samsung's ROM, recovered on the testing v4.2.2 Samsung ROM...), and it never work on my CyanoGen Mod 10.1...
It isn't an incompatibility with an other home than TouchWiz because I've never use this home with my previous Samsung's ROM and S Planer working correctly...
I will continue to looking to do working S Planer with an other ROM, but I have little hope... :crying:

You need to make sure that you have the latest busy box installed. For me, root didn't work properly until I did that. It really is a great file explorer for the nexus, being that our screen is large and I love the drag and drop.

I can't get root access files with this file manager so its fairly useless but it looks pretty I guess just not practical, went back to root explorer an es file explorer an yes I have latest busybox as most root apps need it :screwy:
Best looking file explorer app, but depending on the ROM I'm running I can't get root access because the ROM is using a custom busybox. This is the only app I ever have this issue with unfortunately.

http://d-h.st/PkM
Here is what the Readme file says from the link above:
By TweakerL
By no mean I take credit for any files in this package. All I have done is put everything in a single place and write these instructions.
Please read all these instructions before proceeding, failing to do so will most likely result in stupid questions, in which case I'll have to make fun of you.
1. Every app can be installed, i.e. you don't have to copy them to /system/app.
2. In order for Google Now/Google Seach to work properly you MUST copy libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so to /system/lib, replacing the original when asked.
3. In order for the Camera to work properly (namely the photosphere) you must copy libjni_filtershow_filters.so, libjni_mosaic.so and liblightcycle.so to /system/lib.
4. Some of the apps depend on Google Services 4 in order to work. Because of this I highly suggest that you install PrebuiltGmsCore.apk before installing any of the other apps.
5. You may not be able to install Maps.apk until you uninstall the one already present in your device.
6. Anything that requires adding/replace lib files requires that you be rooted. No way around it.
7. Before replacing/uninstalling anything that's already installed on your device, I suggest you perform a backup of the original in case anything should go wrong. You've been warned!
Thanks bro!! When I have some spare time I will check this out.

I installed yesterday from a completely different perspective. Downloaded 3 separate files, home, velvet, and prebuiltcore. Click installed velvet, copied home.apk to system/app then rebooted phone. Ran fix for Google search found on phandroid. For some reason, my phone has no use for the prebuiltgmscore.apk. previous attempts renaming to gmscore and copy pasting into system/app failed for me. "Internet" app from Note 2 [SOLVED]

Hello.
Can someone please port "Interent" app from Note 2? My understanding that app is "official" android's browser, what we got on N3 is something else...
Not only it slow, but many websites don't display properly and zoom doesn't work.
For example http://500px.com/photo/53047668 on N2 I could zoom in on the photo, on N3 I can't.
N3: com.sec.android.app.sbrowser v1.5
N2: com.sec.android.browser v4.3
I've tried restore this app with Tib, but obviously it failed.
Thank you.
[EDIT]
For these who's looking for the same solution:
1) delete|move or rename /system/app/BrowserProviderProxy.apk
2) copy View attachment SecBrowser.apk into /system/app/
3) set permission on it to rw-r-r (chmod 644)
4) optional if you want get rid of samsung's version of "Internet" app: delete|move|rename SBrowser.apk and SBrowser.odex in /system/app

I've wondered this too as the zoom doesn't quite work like on the N2. I noticed it first off with the XDA website.
However, rotate to landscape mode and it looks more like it should. Give it a try.
It might be the knox as well .. I know that using the same internet app you aint able to watch videos from certain sites. This phone has been nothing but security issues out the box .

So far the only weird thing I've noticed is that when it gives you a chose in which browser open a link, both browsers shows as their package name, instead of "internet" is it used to be. And in android's browser instead "search on page" in menu it says "discourage automatic dev..."
