Ecell Gold Battery 2680 Mah BA750..!! Is it real ?? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys, I found a seller on ebay india selling a ecell Gold battery of 2680 Mah capacity and it's not even so thick like other high capacity batteries!!
The following is the link:
http://www.ebay.in/itm/Ecell-GOLD-2...?pt=IN_Mobile_Accessories&hash=item3f1c9344fa
I wanted to know if this is for real or some scamster company manufacturing cheap unhealthy batteries....

If you search google, you will know they are fake! Just divide the figure by 2 and it is about right! If it is not expensive, you can try one, it won't explode if used properly!!!!

Momax 2700mAh isn't fake. The thing with those batteries is wrong reading, on Momax you stay on 0% for hours and don't know how much is left but it's still double length battery life.

A simple Kernel patch can solve the wrong reading (need unlock bootloader and custom kernel). I allready had done this before for testing purposes.

Oh, I thought it didn't work .

most definitely fake. I purchased one of these before and they were exactly the same as the one that came with the phone

Keep in mind that 99% of aftermarket batteries are Li-Ion, whereas the original battery that comes with the phone is Li-Po.
If you're looking for a Li-Ion replacement battery, you'd want to get one that's higher than 1500mAh as to get a comparable/better battery life compared to the original battery.
With these super high capacity batteries, as stated, you'd need a kernel patch and/or battery recalibration to really get the most out of them. I haven't done this with the Arc (yet), but I have with my previous phones. If you're willing to give up the thin-ness of the Arc, you could potentially have a really decent long-range media device (etc).

Try checking ecell reviews over Amazon, they have very few buyers and ratings varies with each product..
I once bought a smartphone cover from e_cell on ebay, then i found a much cheaper alternative of the exact same case from chinese seller on ebay and dealextreme. I believe these batteries are generic and probably the dudes over e_cell just import chinese toys and sell them at a higher pricetag.. If not mistaken, i think i bought some replacement battery from e_cell for my psp slim, the results does not reflect the printings on the battery at all.

I have used Momax 1200mAh batt fo almost 3 months now, works perfectly but ofcourse lesser battery life. If BA750 can lasts for 12 hours, Momax probably lasts 9-10 hours with the same usage. Also, the batt level reading is not accurate after 9%,from 9% will do down to 1% in about 4-5 minutes usage, whereas BA750 will take about 20 minutes. Very recommended.

Your second and third links have nothing to do with Mugen.
As for the first one, one site claiming Mugen rip people off hardly compares to the huge number of extremely satisfied customers they have - companies don't get good reputations for no reason.
Also, if anyone does order from http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/ here's a 10% discount code: 123VC
For those who may not be aware, Momax are one of the more well-known accessory brands in HK.
I have an X-Level battery rated at 1500mAh which I was using for about a year in my X10 until I lost that phone (with the original BST-41 in it, no less.) Didn't notice any difference from the original battery in endurance.
I have a friend using the Momax EXPOWER extended battery with stand for his Galaxy S who is pretty satisfied with it. He says it gives him about 12-15 hours more endurance, which is pretty much par for the course considering its 2700mAh capacity. The kickstand in that battery is somewhat flimsy, though.
While we're talking about Mugen, I'll share my experience: I've also noticed worse performance than the original battery - despite a higher rating. The HLI-DesireHDSL, while completely usable, was USD50 I thoroughly regret spending. In fact, I noticed no difference from a SCUD (little-known China brand) battery that was gifted by a friend...

Gold 2450mAh battery from ebay

Just wanted to report in with my experience of these large capacity batteries.
I purchased 2 of them along with a generic external charger and they are far better than the stock ones.
Currently been going for 48 hours and still at 25%. I was struggling to get 12 hours out of the stock battery.
They seem like reasonable quality and for around 10AUD each they are decent value. They fit under the stock cover too which is a bonus.
Anyone else using these?

Thanks for this info ! Would you post some pictures of the battery itself and some of usage stats , please ?
Most likely it is fake. Recently I bought 'gold' battery for my old SE K800 from ebay. Printed capacity on label was almost double than original battery but in fact real capacity was half of original. So, returned to seller and lost shipping costs only.
Unfortunately physics is in full force for batteries: at the moment larger capacity can be achieved only by more or larger sells!!!
I'm actually MORE than happy with original Samsung 2000MAh battery. I would NEVER put a fake or low quality battery close to my face.

Well that confirms all these uprated batteries are in fact rubbish with the exception of the much larger 3500mah one and even that was nowhere near the stated 3500mah rating
The gold batteries from Ebay are all fake. Don't waste your time. Peel off the gold cover, under it, you'll find an under powered rating.this batteries have already been discussed at xda over and over with picture evidences to show they are fake. Go buy a jaguar for 10 bucks and tell me it's real.

I just bought one from ebay too. A gold 2450 mAh battery.
After I received it I put it in the mobile and battery snap from the market tells me the same remaining time as the stock 1650 mAh battery.. Then I peeled off the gold wrapper and underneath I found this inprint "HD504655AR 11K08NF1650".. 1650 ?? Strange coincidence ...
I opend a case with ebay requesting my money back because this looks like a fraud. I'll have to wait several days for it to close, but I will tell you how it ended...
I can only tell you that I should have read the posts here about the "gold" batteries.. Damn fakes!
Ok, so can anyone tell me how to identify a genuine Samsung battery?
My phone came with a battery that looks almost identical to eBay item 110825200405, except that mine says "Finished in Vietnam" and the recycle symbol is a bit different.
The supposedly genuine batteries on eBay (e.g. eBay item 140704498924) look quite different.
I got my phone from Orange/Partner in Israel and I'm wondering if they are using cheap aftermarket batteries to save money. Anyway, I want to buy a spare but I want to make sure that I'm getting my moneys worth for a battery that has the actual marked capacity and that will last.
Thanks.
Glad to trade abt the gold batteries here. I was abt to use a pair for myself
"Gold Batteries"
Bump.
I was about to post a big thing with a battery log that I kept for the first 5 charges of my new "Gold" battery along with how unimpressed I was and that it didnt seem any better than my stock 1250mAh. The new battery was supposedly 2450mAh. after reading the post 2 posts above mine I decided to remove the gold foil to look at the stamps on mine. I see nothing to indicate the mAh capacity on mine but after using it for a month I can say for sure that it is no better than my stock battery. I am not going to file it with ebay or anything but it sure seems like there are a lot of fakes out there. Mine came from Ghuang Dong china or something like that... lol. Anyway I only paid 6.99$ with no shipping and have a functional spare battery now so, oh well. Lesson learned. Figured I'd give my 2 cents.
---------- Post added at 01:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:14 AM ----------
Oops. Just realixed this is for samsungs. Mine was for HTC Inspire. Probably all the same though... My bad.
my 2 bits worth
Just got the ebay GOLD (haha) battery as well but paid like 4 bux for it - FWIW it seems to hold a charge longer though it charges lightning fast which leads me to believe that it is indeed not 2450mah
After having done a bit of research, mah is a tricky thing to verify - can be done with a multimeter BUT there is a device called a battery-analyzer that does the trick. So these ppl that sell the possibly fraud batteries have tapped a great market: people (mostly) without the gear or know-how to check the quality of the goods!
regardless i needed a second battery so no loss for me. Now if it explodes or something I will report here first and I will not leave my 5star feedback for the "gold battery people" just yet
UPDATE
***so the gold battery performance is incredibly poor - last less and less time with each charge***
I'd advise anyone to absolutely not bother with one of these

I bought a case for my Xperia play from them and it's seriously the best £2.50 I've spent in a long time. I've tried 4 cases ranging from the obscenely expensive to the acceptably cheap and their case is by far the best. Easy clip on, easy take off (though it wont ever come off by accident) and it feels/looks very nice.
Cannot recommend it enough, especially after seeing all the negative reviews for every other case in existence for the play.
HOWEVER - this was my first experience buying from Ecell and all was well and good. Unfortunately, hundreds other people have had DREADFUL experiences with them, ranging from fake sd cards to tampered/used/busted phones being delivered and even negligence towards contemporary buyer/seller code and morals.
http://fotios.org/node/2173
I suggest you visit that link and consider carefully before purchasing the battery. I too was thinking of buying that battery but was turned off by the comments in that link.
If you do decide to buy it, let me know if it's worth it please!
EDIT: LOL jgregoryj1 beat me to it
E-Cell are a bit hit and miss, had some good and bad experiences with them, Looked at that exact battery for my play but just looks too good to be true in my opinion
Brought a case from them and it arrived in 2 days. Great case for the play too
But then again once brought a Motorola Milestone from them which took 3 weeks to arrive and came all in chinese. So like I said, the companies very hit and miss. So you take the chance with anything you buy with them
Saying that, Unlike some other people, I think the stock battery on the play is bloody marvellous. Really appreciate it after the crappy 1230mAH battery I had in my last phone - the HD7. You were lucky to get half a day out of that.

I agree. I love the battery on mine. I can get a full day using whatever I want on whatever brightness I want, using whatever connection utility i want and still have some left over by the time I get to bed. I use tunein radio on it when I go to sleep so it's plugged in all night anyway!
yeah i actually found this link "http://fotios.org/node/2173" whilst looking for other vendors selling that battery after i saw the posts about it in the battery thread. They seem fine with cheap items and bad with anything +100 dollars from what people are saying on that forum.
I ended up getting the mugen 3600 myself, but i thought id post up the link so people here could make their own informed decisions, if anyone does buy it, please post and let us know how it goes, i think alot of people would be keen for a bigger stock battery at that bargain price(if it works).
seems like a gold phone bomb atm to me though

Nice, and it has an extended cover. I heard I other threads that there wasn't a extended cover. Anyone here tried the e-cell 3600mAh and the cover? Also, is the mAh increase picked up by the phone automatically, or will I have to tweak a build prop?

i have also an 3600mha battery for my r800i and the duration icreased to about 50%.
The extended cover is really nice and fits perfectly. the only problem with the extended cover is, that it squeaks.
The extended cover also improve the gameplay with the xperia play because with the thicker back you can play really good with the gamepad.

[Q] Regarding 3500mAh battery!

Hey guys I just saw a 3500mAh battery for SGS2 on ebay. Is it safe to use such battery? I mean it won't harm the phone, will it? :O
Probably won't harm the phone, no.
I bought a 3500mAh obscurely branded Chinese battery in mid-December. Tried it out for almost two weeks, a bunch of charge/discharge cycles & estimated its real capacity was around 1900mAh. It also used to heat up a lot on recharge (mid-high 40's Celsius, which isn't normal when the phone isn't being used whilst charging).
I took it back, got a refund & bought an original Samsung 2000mAh battery. Hasn't missed a beat, is obviously close to its advertised capacity given I get around 20% more use out of a charge than I do with a 1600mAh battery.
Obviously your mileage may vary if you buy one of these (you might have a better experience than I did), just thought I'd let you know about my experience.

Battery Life
I am still using the 1650 mAh battery (stock) for my S2.
I am really facing some battery issues. Its charging almost all day !

Any tips might help

well i an getting with the original battery 24H of usage.
with the 3500mah i am getting 60H of usage... so my 3500 is truly 3500mah!
the language is hebrew.
i use congnition rom 1.51 and siyah kernel.
So, where can I see a trustful review on batteries for SGS2? What is the most extended one?
It's really frustrating that my current stock battery is only enough for 2 hd video view (4-5 hours).
Also, the higher the mAh value the more battery lifetime is, right?
I would really want to buy 3500 mAh, but it costs so little.
And the official Samsung variant that offers the longest lifetime of a battery for SGS2 is this one, maybe Mugen 3500 mAh is the best choice out there?

What is the model name of the battery? Is it being overheated in comparison to stock one?
why should it overheat?
it is lithium ... same same
Yes, it's special lithium from China extracted under full moon and blessed by a thousand virgins
Really now, if it was possible to manufacture a battery having more than double the capacity of the stock battery while taking up the same volume, don't you think the megacorporate Samsung would buy that technology immediately in order to use it themselves ? "Too cheap to be true" is valid even here; most knock-off batteries either are fake ("9999 mAH SUPER EXTRA" sticker over the original rating), or will degrade quickly in time leaving you with a dud.
Since there are already fake electronic components...
... why not fake and cheap batteries too, certainly seems to be a high demand for them.
a. it is not the same volume! in is twice as much as the original.
b. the i9100 has a circuit that allows a slow stable charge rate so i dont think it will damage the battery.
As well as being made of inferior materials, not being subjected to the same QC, not having the fuel gauge chip present in original Samsung batteries, you pretty much get what you pay for.
My advice would be to avoid non-original batteries altogether, and given a 2000mAh original battery will cost around the same as one of these 3000mAh+ batteries with all their problems & poor life, it's a no brainer.
Stick with Samsung batteries.
fuel gauge chip?
i would like to see that chip in an any cellphone battery please.
If you're not aware of/don't know about the fuel gauge chip in original SGS2 batteries, you've probably been living under a rock since the phone was released

[q] gold 2430mah battery for samsung i9000 galaxy s

Code:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GOLD-2430MAH-BATTERY-SAMSUNG-I9000-GALAXY-S-/190645284732?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c63582f7c#ht_2892wt_1270
Has anyone come across this before? Any reviews? Is this the Slim one?
I have never heard of this, but it looks amazing! Thank you. I'm gonna ask the seller. Seeming that the description claims it to be a Lithium Polymer battery it is very likely that it is normal sized. In the past I searched around and never found a lithium polymer battery for the Galaxy phones. It would be really nice if all phones had high capacity lithium polymer batteries.
My question is that something for the 19000 battery wise is the same size as all other Galaxy 1 variants correct?

Yes, you are right. After some more research @Wikipedia, LiPoly Batteries can have high capacity and can be used safely provided that you use the original chargers and not the cheap Chinese crap. BLE is not needed for them . I might buy one soon, If i do, will update this thread. Wish me luck.

Oh wow. Thanks a lot. Much cheaper. Now I have to test. Just search for i9000 or Galaxy S 2450mah or 2430mah and find the correct one. This looks legit

Well ebay says he's got positive feedback so just keeping my fingers crossed.
Hi !
Any feedback about this battery ?
Did you received it in time ?
Is it really better than the 1500 or 1800mAh ?
Thank you
To good to be true I think
I'd also love a battery which claims what this one does at this price, but It seems to good to be true. A bit of Googling shows a review for this battery with 2/2 "average" reviews which show it did not perform as promised (but it did work). There are also some other review sites which say pretty much the same thing. (I'd love to post the URL but can't because I'm a noob. A search for B005O8S4V0 on amazon.co.uk will find this.
Also, I think that if this technology was legit Samsung would have shipped it with the unit itself !!
Pity, I was really hoping it would work. I hate it that all the aftermarket batteries I have purchased sucked compared to the original.
DG
Yep i've finally bought a 1800mAh PolaCell battery. It seemed more secured to me.
Maybe i'm wrong (I hope for those who bought it) but as you said the 2430mha chinese one is too cheap to be true.
Lithium Ion is different to Lithium Polymer, the one on the link is a Lithium Polymer
More Details here
Code:
http://jartiuch.wordpress.com/2007/11/01/nimh-or-li-ion-or-li-polymer-what-to-consider%E2%80%A6/
Basically, Lithium Polymer batteries can have the same size but higher capacity, so there is a good chance that the battery is real.
But again I haven't still bought it cause I am running on a tight budget, but I am planning to buy one when I am selling my phone so that I can buy an Galaxy S3.
That doesn't look like it could be a Li-Ion Polymer cell due to the rounded edge. Only a square edge or foil pack would mean it's a true prismatic cell which is the casing for Li-Ion Poly cells.
The 3.7V vs 3.6V already shows that most of these are using a technology better than just standard Li-Ion, so it wouldn't really be much of an improvement.
Different manufacturer use different materials for anode, cathode, and electrolyte and these Chinese companies use the cheapest ones. So you're either getting what you pay for or getting ripped off depending on how you look at the false advertising.
I heard this battery(same label/producer on other handsets) is very bad.
I think I grabbed the wrong one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/28086765575...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_3124wt_1163
It does look the same, but 2450. Interestingly it is made in Japan, not China. Here's the weight, plus the OEMs that I have for comparison:
32.3g OEM Captivate 1500mAh
34.3g Japan "Gold" 2450mAh
36.65g OEM Epic 1800mAh
So I was expecting it to come out around 1650mAh, but it gave me 1910 the first time. I'll use it for a few weeks and run another test. Not really sure what to expect though.
Edit: This battery is crap. 2nd run at 200mAh it failed at 4 hours, about 850mAh drained. Now it's hovering just over 3.5v, right over where the phone would shut down. Trying to get the rest out so I can cycle it again, but I think it will be getting a funeral tomorrow.
Been running the "2430mAh battery" for about a week now with Battery Monitor Widget. Estimated rating is ~1300 mAh. Not great, but still gets me through the day with light-moderate usage.
For $10 it was worth a shot. At least the battery isn't COMPLETE garbage. :S
I already have an 1800mah anker and it is working fine for around $10....I am getting an oem epic battery tomorrow hopefully and I just ordered this
http://www.amazon.com/Mugen-Extende...Z9TQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1338532343&sr=8-2
If they send a real mugen battery that works than I will be ecstatic.

Don't buy from that seller, seller1on1 did not ship a real mugen battery instead he shipped a cheap ass 3500mah chinese battery and door you can get on ebay for $8.
This has been the strangest battery. After the second cycle I got 2300mAh out of it, but the phone was randomly shutting off. It started behaving after that though.
From what I understand some of these no name batteries come from good manufacturers' fail bins. They sell them off cheap instead of dumping them in landfill. So if that is the case, it's kind of a gamble.

Hello,
I buy my gold battery from the webstore pixinf.com they are cheaper than ebay and have fast shipping. The battery work more than 2 times than original one.
They give 2 years warranty and the battery is made on japan. :victory:
Regards
I just got the gold battery from eBay. 2430MAH along with the battery charger for charging the battery externally. It was about $8.50 and comes within a week. Just search i9000 gold battery. I'm pretty sure I've got it calibrated. With light use I get up to 13 hours so far and up to 10 hours approximately with heavier use. Amazing buy so far
