Yellowish tint by default? anyway to fix the color? - HTC One X

This is apparently NOT a problem. However, I would like to have some color fix on this.
I don't know if anyone knows what I meant
The One X screen compares to S3 or any other phone side by side, the one x had a slight warmer color tone, in other words, it's kinda yellowish.
it's truely visible on white screen.
I find this very disturbing, is there a way to fix this? I prefer a more natural and realistic color tone.
If you're gonna recommend an color fix app, can you tell me the input for primary color values to correctly fix it? I'm too lazy to fix it little by little lol.

It is going to be a colour fix app, but everybody has their own settings my cooler temp colour may be to warm for you or to cold. So you have to fiddle with it ti find your own settings that you like.
Give this one a try and see how it works: My Settings are alpha set to 8 and blue set to around 80ish or so.

It will go as the day pass

[APP/EXPERIMENT] Yellow tint test

Ok so I just wanted some1 to test something for me. I want to know if the yellow tint can be cancelled with a gradient overlay. So done an little app to test this.
Need some1 who has this yellow tint really bad and can see it very easily.
Again this is just a test and may amount to nothing, I need volunteers as I don't have this defect enough to see it accurately at 20% brightness.
The app is safe as there is no burn in mode yet. Just the ability to custom create a 3 point gradient from left to right with variable pixel widths for each segment.
So if anyone can test that has this really bad, that would be great.
IMPORTANT:
This little app has no burn in method yet so completely safe.
THIS IS NOT A THREAD TO ***** OR COMPLAIN AT SAMSUNG!!!
All I want to know is does this cancelling gradient help.
Start, Mid, End buttons set the settings panel to control the points (LEFT to RIGHT)
P = position
R = red
G = green
B = blue
A = alpha
So if you have a yellow tint, then you want to start with blue and alpha etc!
Updated the app to default all 3 points to 119,119,119 a 255 so the starting points are the same col as the bg
UPDATED
Not ment to be that user friendly at the moment
If it does actually do something, then I will probably have nice sliders and ability to save setting etc. Just cant be arsed doing that if it's a none starter.

Mine has the yellow tint on the left side but I'm having trouble figuring out how to use this app. It does seem to be changing gradients.
I should have made the gradients to default to gray, will alter and put new version up later today, may do a little vid on how to use also

Cool app. Seems to help if you tweak it right. What exactly does the "BURN" button do?

Well, if some1 can manage to do an inverse gradient to their yellow tint, then I would enable saving in the app, and enable burn-in, that does just that, full brightness pixel values for extended periods of time to tint the display inversely to the yellow tint, thus attempting to lessen the effect.
Ideally I want some1 with a bad example tint who also has no way to return their phone to try it

[REQ] App to tweak Saturation in SGS2

Hello to all!!.. is possible to find an application to tweak the saturation of the SGS2 screen!!?... it has the worst color rendition I saw in a cellular screen, I work in photography I can not even show the pictures in my telephone!!... I like this phone but with the screen of the iphone, miles away better.
Best regards!

Thanks for your feedback, the only problem is the Saturation slider, it does not work on my SGS2 and that slider is the most important
Besides that, that application is not done in good way, the RGB sliders has to modify de levels of color not the levels of brightness as the application do.
Moving all the sliders to the left has to decrease saturation not brightness as it does in a wrong way.
Regards!
I`m disappointed too with the screen colours.If I take a picture of white walls it seems to have a white-green colour.In my old HTC HD2 with HyperDroid-CM7-2.3.7,the white was brilliant white.If I put the same picture that I taked with the HTC in my SGSII,the white looks a lot greener.Is there a fix for that problem?

The colors of SGS2 are pure crap, I dont understand why there are lot of people interested in develop a firmware but they forget this part that is really important, you pay lot of money for a phone that gives you crap colors, totally biased and has no possibility to calibrate them.
Totally agree...My old HD2 with 5MP camera takes a lot better photos than SGSII.The problem is RGB calibration of the screen,not the camera.

Yes, I refer to the color rendition of the screen.
+1 for this... couldn't find any screen tuner/gamma adjuster/saturation adjuster or whatsoever for i9100 that work in ICS...
And my screen is way too blueish... and color is washed....

The gamma should not be modified, if some app is modifying the gamma is doing the wrong thing, it should modify RGB values or saturation remaining the brightness constant.
Hmmm, i thought it was gamma thing also... since I hate the blueish tint... I prefer warmer color.... >,<

What you are looking for is the Kelvin temperature to change, changing the gamma curve will change the behavior of brightness and color and that is not the way.
The controls that should have the telephone are real RGB controls without modifying the brightness, Temperature and Saturation, even better Contrast (but it should not change the colors), with that controls you could calibrate the screen the way best fit to you.
Maybe that's the control that included in CM9...

Why can't the settings menu and other UI be in black instead of white?

Is there any way to change this? I mean having a white background on phone contact when dialing or when going to change some setting or whatever isn't exactly 'battery friendly'.
I remember the very old HTC UI back in the Diamond days being black, why cant we have it in black today? Or at least the option to change it to black.
If there is an obvious way to do this already then I apologize ahead.
Cheers

Didnt think of that, but still I think alot of the Sense stuff are on the One X are unecessary.
Will check it out, thanks!
white is acctualy more battery friendly on a LCD screen.
With much black you need to increase brightness to have higher contrast, making battery life worse.
What you are saying are correct - if you have a oled screen like the one on one S or sgs2. But the specific color on one x doesn't affect battery, the brightness does.

[Q] LED weird colours

is it normal that my LED colours seem to have multiple colours in them.. like example if i set the notification ligth to be orange ( with paranoid rom, but did the same on stock with lightflow) the light will be half light red and the other half will be yellow.. or green and blue if i want light blue.. it seems i have to mess around with the colours value (RGB) to get just one solid colour and not a mix of multiple colours..
this is hard to explain.. so if you know what i mean please let me know.. if not i can take a picture and upload them here!
Thanks
It's my understanding that although it IS an RGB LED, that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be able to recreate every color you could dream of. There's actually another thread here in the S3 section (Forget which part) where people are compiling a list of different Hex values of colors that turn out really well.

thing is is that im using ParanoidAndroid rom, and i dont see the option to add a hex value.. i can only pick a hue and slide the colour around ..
Well, in my experience with that, it seems to have a better color output for the LED if you don't have the saturation all the way up..... Say if you were shooting for a pure red color, have the slider down just a bit from as bright as it can get. Seemed like whenever i tried using that to set LED colors, if i had it all the way up, it had something else mixed in.... generally i think a bit more of a white color to it.

Tiny contrasting/sharpening outline around text & icons on new D852?

So i just picked up a G3 today and there's one thing that is bothering me.
All the outlines of icons / text seem to have a minuscule but detectable contrasting outline around them. It's hard to describe and kind of nitpicking, but my eyes do see it especially with text overlayed on a color or image background. It's almost like a tiny oversharpening effect and I've never seen it on other phones before. What is this? Is it due the layout of the subpixels? Also I noticed the color balance is somewhat yellowish. Is there a way to fix these problems? perhaps through custom roms? Would scaling down the resolution to 1080p make a difference.
Detailed example: I put my new G3 and Asus zenfone 2 side by side, and looked at their chrome icons (the exact same icons) through a magnifying glass. On the zenfone's display the line separating green and red in the icon transitions smoothly and normally- from green to red. But sure enough, on the G3, the magnifying glass reveals a tiny whitish line between the green and red areas! Therefore the change in color does not transition smoothly, which is what my eyes are picking up on. How to fix this problem?
If this is just inherent to the display itself I may consider picking up a Oneplus X instead, as it is somewhat irritating for my eyes especially when reading text.
This phone has a problem with oversharpening most custom roms have it fixed a lot of people complained about it u can reduce screen to 1080 but then u take away from the beuty of the screen if u decide to keep it root it then use a cust rom and itll be all good
If u have custom recovery then u can flash oversharpning fix mod.
