[Q] Messaging problem after Jelly Bean update - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hoping someone can help me out, because I haven't seen something similar posted yet...
I just updated to Jelly Bean this morning. Everything about the install seemed ok, with no errors. However, when I went to open a message in Handcent, it didn't load and I got a "force close" prompt. I tried the same in the native Messaging app, and got a similar lock-up and "force close". After uninstalling Handcent, I still have a problem.
Now, when I open the native app for the first time after booting the phone, my list of messages will show, but when I go to open one, nothing will load and I am unable to send a message. If I push back to get to the screen with all my messages, I get a "Loading Conversations." screen, that doesn't seem to be doing anything (I've left it on for about 20 mins now with no change).
I've tried this in safe mode as well to no avail. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem too, just with chompsms but having the exact same problem with the native app.

Cyanogenmod 6 messaging app force close

I am running the new Cyanogen and just recently when I got home, my text messages won't open. I can get to the list of people, but when I try to open them to see the thread of messages, it force closes. I have rebooted quite a few times and still doesnt work.
Does anyone have a apk i can run to fix this, or just anyway that I might be able to fix this?
It is still doing this after I flashed the new nightly build.
Very frustrating.
Some people have fixed messaging issues by using the Handcent app

Quick Command Not Working

Anyone having issues with Quick Command Not Working?? I've cleared cache & cleared data. I've even tried the demo model @ At&t & it works there. I'm able to open it but no matter what I write it doesn’t do anything.. It'll even force close if I start pressing on the buttons a few times. I'm thinking my phone may be defective & I'm thinking of returning it & getting a new one. Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks.

Yeah I'm having a similar issue. I can pull up Quick Command but when I try to add a new command, and select applications for the list of apps to pop up, QC crashes after scrolling down to messages or maps. Meaning I am not selecting messages or maps but I can only scroll down to the apps that begin with M before QC freezes and force closes. I've tried scrolling quickly and very slowly, but still QC crashes and I cannot scroll through my entire list of apps. I have been able to add commmands for apps that I can access before it crashes like Dolphin, Calendar. I am running stock and root but no roms.
**** UPDATE ****
Well, after applying the new multiwindow update, I now am unable to create a new Quick Command for an application. When I select the application option, Quick Command just hangs, the screen goes black, and I get an error that quick command has stopped working and it force closes. I can still access it and the preinstalled/created quick commands, but I just can't create a new one for an application. I tried wiping my cache and cleared data for it but still does not work.
So nobody else has had this issue? I did a google search and found some info and fixes tied to the contacts or language input but neither worked for me.

downloading images problem browser and email JB

Heya all,
I have this issue with the stock samsung browser and email apps on my ace 2, running jelly bean, where it sometimes completely freezes up and then closes itself without giving any message about it (as in no message saying "com.android.secbrowser has stopped working" or anything like that.)
This happens incidentally only, but when it does happen for a webpage or e-mail, it will happen for that page or e-mail every time i retry.
I have tried many things and found that in both the email and browser apps this has to do with the downloading of images. Since turning that off in their settings removes the problem for both apps and then manually downloading images will cause the crash again.
Has anyone else got this problem? or does anyone have an idea on how to resolve it?
Perhas any apps/permissions/libs needed to make it work?
Need help on this one, as it's annoying, and I like both apps too much to give up on em and switch to market variants over it.

once "android.process.acore" error triggered - phone is wasted

installed 200 aps -entered passwords and made the phone ready for business use :fingers-crossed:
then i started....
PAYPAL triggered the nasty "ANDROIDROCESS:ACORE HAS STOPPED" error
the error prevents the complete use of phonecalling function and email and hangouts
other programs that trigger the error on lolipop 5.0 - v20f on D855 are
facebook/ outlook / messenger /
this bug makes the phone unusable. even lg support team have no solution
help ?
I am having the exact same error and the only thing that gets the error to stop popping up is if I disable "contacts storage" and of course then the phone isn't much use. I was able to download a 3rd party dialer and make a phone call but that's not a fix. I am using cm12 on a tmobile note 4 and have completely reset and wiped the device multiple times with this issue and it is only happening in the last few days and so far only when I use a cm12 rom (no error on a touchwiz rom yet). If I reset the phone it works fine and I can load up all the apps that I want and it will work sometimes for minutes or sometimes hours but once I get that error randomly it's all done and I have to eventually reset. I have searched and searched but the solutions that I have found are not fixing this issue for me. So far I have
1. complete reset and installed apps one by one to see if any caused the issue
2. cleared data settings, apps, contacts, contacts storage, dialer, google contacts sync, and the only one that did anything was disabling contacts storage. It seems to stop the issue completely but I cant use contacts or dialer then.
I have tried using PA stock gapps package and gapps-lp-20141109 package and both have this issue on nightlies from 2/3, 2/1, and 2/4. I even went through my gmail contacts online with my PC and cleared most of the info there to no success. I do not think this is an issue with the ROM but just frustrated as I want to us cm12 and can't because of this.
i found out that deinstalling facebook solves the isue completely and before deinstall the programm that triggered the error
so the efforts are much less
and if you need Facebook, you can install Facebook Lite.

All you can do is use Titanium Backup to backup all APK+Data and restore it to a freshly wiped device
Its a pain but its better than having to reinstall and reconfigure most of it again
I had the exact same problem but I figured a way to resolve it quickly. I have a Samsung Galaxy s4 and to cancel the error I just opened settings>application manager and by pressing the menu button on the bottom left hand corner of my phone the option "reset app preferences" appeared and as soon as I clicked it the error had stopped for good
My LG MS330 has same error in a loop

also: android.process.media I can't access nothing it's on an unnendeing loop telling me music has sttoped, gallery has stopped, android.process.acore has stopped and android.process.media has stopped. and the phone is not even a month old, can anyone help out pretty pretty please

android.process.acore has stopped

I have a Verizon LG G3 running stock/rooted 4.4.2.
Today, for the 2nd time, I started receiving the unfortunately, the android.process.acore has stopped error It pretty much just constantly pops up, non stop.
Last time a few months back, I fixed it with a factory reset (annoying).
Today, it started again. I tried clearing contacts and contacts storage and google service framework, but none of that helped.
Wound up doing another factory reset.
This time, it was working fine until I added an exchange account to sync calendar and email and then I started getting the error again. I don't think that was the trigger though because of what else I figured out.
It appears as if I uninstall facebook, the error goes away. I tried uninstalling facebook, clearing contacts and contacts storage and then reinstalling, but it starts again once it gets reinstalled.
I've done this back and forth enough times now that it's clearly being caused by the facebook install. It starts as soon as I log into facebook after I install it.
I guess at least it's nice to know I can uninstall facebook and I'm good, but I want to use the facebook app still.
So now what?
I have the same problem but it's with WeChat.
Here's something you can try.
I went into Phone --> Settings and select only to display contacts from Gmail. It stopped error.
