I recently purchased a couple of "Samsung" batteries from eBay:

They came packaged only in thin plastic sleeves. These seemed to have a tighter fit than the one that came with the phone and the labels look different. The model number is different. I assume these are for the international version of the phone. So I could believe the difference in labels is due to this and maybe a difference in thickness of the label would account for the different fit. I don't have a second device to test if the NFC antenna works.
But what made me think these are counterfeit immediately was that on the front of the label both have identical serial numbers. Still, I wanted to hope maybe this could be legit and these serial numbers are not unique but are really lot numbers.
Just now, I scanned the QR codes on the same label.
The one on the original battery reads: GH43-03702A+EB-L1G6LLA
I'm not sure what most of the digits mean, but the last part, "EB-L1G6LLA" is the model number.
The batteries I got from eBay have a QR code that reads: 12345678
Another sign is that the + and - symbols don't appear to align perfectly to the contacts the way the original does. I read this is one of the signs of a counterfeit.
I've attached photos of the battery below. The original one is always on the far left.
Is my assessment correct? Is there any chance these are actually real?
They were only $10 a piece. It's possible, whatever they are they're perfectly adequate batteries. But the fact that they're being sold as counterfeits rather than 3rd party batteries makes me very wary about putting these in my phone. I don't trust counterfeiters to care much about quality control or even putting in functional charging circuitry.
I'd also be grateful for any advice on how to deal with this. Should I report to eBay and/or Paypal or maybe Canada Post (as these are supposedly shipped from Canada there may be Federal Postal Fraud laws that apply).
Finally, any good place to buy genuine Samsung batteries at a reasonable price?

Under the s/n number the "Fakes" have a date which i have never seen on OEM samsung batteries sold. 2nd picture the borders for the black box are not even straight, box size is wrong, and font is different. 3rd picture its missing the water mark thingy. Definitely fakes. I myself am like you. If they made counterfeits they wouldn't care about the quality of the battery so I would be hesitant on putting it in my phone.
I have one of these fakes as well. I bought it from an individual (not a store) on Ebay that claimed that it was a new OEM battery. I have been using the battery and it seems to work ok, although I have not been able to test the NFC capability yet.
I've used "counterfeit" batteries in a couple of other phones I've owned. I only had a problem with one out of the four batteries, and that one wouldn't hold a charge for more than 5 hours on standby. Other than that battery, they've worked fine for me. I only paid around $5 for the junk battery, since it came in a two-pack for $10, which included a charger.
You get what you pay for. Verizon has official OEM batteries for sale for about $30 each. You probably won't find a legit battery for much less than that.

I think most of the information you have provided are incorrect, some batteries does have dates, others don't, and not all samsung batteries have the waterproof sticker.
the font and the uneven line will depends on the country of manufacture.
I've seen all these and had some, all straight out of the box from a unit from a local authorised store.
I do not have a problem with a battery that is not manufactured/endorsed by the manufacturer of my phone, as long as the batteries are represented that way. I have used 3rd party batteries in my Evo 4G and they completely met my expectations. I would not call those counterfeit batteries.
If a battery is being presented as an OEM Samsung battery I expect it do be exactly that. When I bought my battery I probably paid a few $ more than I would have for a 3rd party battery because I thought I was buying the real OEM battery. After I received the battery I suspected that he battery was not truly an OEM battery. I noticed the same things that the OP noted. I also had a feeling (not proven) that the battery life is not quite to the level of my original battery. I looked at the battery after seeing this post and mine is identical to the fakes in the OP (down to the date and the serial number).

I do agree with what you say, but many people who buys batteries that not a OEM will just call it a fake, whether it's a fake or a third party one.
A fake battery and a third party brand battery are two different thing, third party batteries are not fakes.

Why do you put quotes around "counterfeit"? Are you talking about counterfeit or third party batteries? As others have noted correctly, third party batteries sold legitimately, under their own brand name (or without a brand name) that do not attempt to be passed off as OEM batteries are not fake or counterfeit. They're just third party batteries. Whether they are any good is largely a crap shoot. But at least their is no misrepresentation and you know what you are buying.
A third party battery with a wrapper attempting duplicate or resemble the OEM battery and sold as an OEM battery is a counterfeit.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of the third party batteries are manufactured at the same plant and are of the same quality. But with the OEM you're getting an assurance of a minimal performance level from QA. With third party batteries of an unproven brand you don't really know. With counterfeit batteries, the seller has already shown that he has no ethical standard and so I'd suspect these are more likely to be defective/returned/poor quality products being resold for profit.
Was I naive to think I could get an OEM battery at this price? Probably. However, it's not outside the realm of plausibility. I don't believe for a minute that the real cost of an OEM battery is anywhere near $40 and I could believe that purchased in bulk or in other countries OEM batteries could be obtained at a much lower price. Even on Amazon I've seen OEM batteries for as little as $20 (but they won't ship to Canada). I'm more inclined to believe that the ones on Amazon are real.
In any case, I've started the process at eBay to get my money back. If they were just crap batteries I wouldn't care as they weren't very expensive, but being sold fakes just rubs me the wrong way...
I've learned my lesson though. No more batteries (and probably memory cards should be added to the list) from eBay. I'll just shell out the money and buy a real OEM locally.

eb-l1g6llu vs eb-l1g6lla----- im going thru the same thing and this is what ive found out/learned,, the eb-l1g6llu is a crappy "replacement" sure it fits and chargers and powers up but the battery life is nowhere near what our original batteries give us,, in 43 minutes i was down to 70% left! see pic-- i also felt a difference in weight so i weighed them both and the eb-l1g6llu actually weighs less so im sure would be another reason for the sucky life,, im currently sending my eb-l1g6llu back to the seller for a full refund since they are horrible,, also you will notice that the eb-l1g6llu has chinese writing on it-see pic- hints another reason it sucks,, they are just cheaper batteries that are the same size but not same weight and the 2100mah written on it is a total lie, my original battery is the one on the left on both pics,, im currently messaging a different seller on ebay where ive explained all this,, he is selliing the EB-L1G6LLZ which comes in the verizon s3 but will work in all sg3's but he also mentioned that the EB-L1G6LLA is any "original battery" and its just different cause of the carrier,, but again the eb-l1g6llu is just a flat out fake cheap battery people are selling just to rip you off,, when i get the EB-L1G6LLZ from him if it works properly with "real" battery life like the ones that came with our s3's then ill come back and reply with his link so hopefully nobody else will get screwed over,, thanks for reading ,.,.

Definitely read reviews first if you buy from amazon. I bought a "genuine" Samsung battery that wouldn't charge past 80% and was delivered in a simple plastic bag, no official packaging like the picture in the ad. Amazon seems like its now riddled with fakes of all kinds, I also bought a fake lifeproof case from there as well but was lucky and got my money back.

I can verify this as well. I have a Verizon GS3 and an AT&T GS3. My Verizon GS3 came with the battery on the left, the EB-L1G6LLZ. My AT&T GS3 came with the battery on the right, the EB-L1G6LLA. Something I find weird is that the Verizon battery has a date on it; 06-17-2012. I also find it strange that the batteries were made in two different countries; the Verizon one in Korea and the AT&T one in Japan.
Just an afterthought:
Could the "Z" in the Verizon battery stand for veriZon while the "A" in the AT&T one stand for At&t? If that was true than couldn't the "U" stand for Us cellular? This is just a guess but it seems like a weird coincidence.
I have recently bought a battery which had as title : New 2100mah OEM EB-L1G6LLU NFC Battery For I9300
The battery was shipped from HK. As i received the battery, i inserted it in my phone and there was about 57% battery left. In the span of 5 hours, with 45 mins of screen used on wifi (not even 3G) the battery was at 1%. I charged the battery in the phone itself using the supplied samsung charger and it took roughly 3 hours. As the green charging light came on, i unplugged the charger and to my great surprise the battery instantly dropped to 91%. I decided to give it another chance but the battery never fully charges. Although the battery had functioning NFC, the battery life was bad.
My advise would be, if you want a spare battery, get a genuine one or reputed brands such as Anker or Momax (although some may not have NFC).

Id like to get an extra official Samsung battery but after some bad amazon experiences with "official" batteries for my HTC evos I'm nervous about amazon.

If you want to make sure it's genuine either go to sprint or Samsung,
Stop trying to be cheap. You get what you pay for and the odds of your finding a genuine on amazon or ebay for $10 bucks is the same as me beating Tiger Woods in golf.

i had a great experience with both of these ebayers:
extra stock battery ($19) from this seller
wall charger ($4.89) from this seller
shipping for each was free, and i received both items within a week, in excellent condition. both the battery & charger work great. i have read many reviews about the seidio extended battery, and i don't think it is worth $50 (plus another $5-8 for a charger)
That's about right for the charger. But if you aren't in a hurry, you can get 3 batteries and a wall charger here for $12.
It just takes 2-3 weeks to get here. I used them (same type) for my DInc and already have a set for my Bolt and they work the same as stock.
i saw lots of multiple battery deals on ebay, but i don't trust cheap knockoffs. i got a cheap generic battery for my nexus one and it lasted about 2/3 as long the stock battery

Cheap battery: $2.75 (ish)
By your 2/3 estimate, you would pay up to $12.67 for a knock off battery, so by buying these cheap knock-offs, you are saving almost $10 for each battery.
perhaps so, but i wanted a battery that would last at least as long as the stock battery. i didn't want my phone to get low during the day, replace it with the knockoff, and wake up late for work the next day because the knockoff died during the night. i value having a single, consistent OEM battery more than getting a group of low capacity batteries at the lowest possible price
if you are better served with multiple cheap knockoff batteries, then by all means get what suits you best. i just wanted to share my ebay experience with anyone looking for a reliable seller of OEM batteries, because there are tons of shysters selling worthless crap online

Oh, you mean capacity wise? I find mine to be right on par with the stock battery. I thought you meant that they'll die in 9 months rather than a year (which I am fine with).

i bought generic ones off ebay for my gf's droidx. a week later the phone ran extremely hot on generic's. i'm guessing the chip in the generic batteries didn't work.
i paid full retail for my phone, im not going to try to save a few bucks on something as essential as a battery. $20 for something that will power your phone for another 10 hours EVERYDAY? worth it.

$95+ now... I asked a question to see if it's a typo or not. (I basically asked what makes his $90 more valuable than other ones on eBay...)
I got a charger, but mine came from Hong Kong and took about 20 days to get to me. I wouldn't have cared to pay a couple of extra bucks to get one in 2 days instead, but $90 bucks is a different story!

i noticed that both of these sellers are located in brooklyn, ny... seems like a verrry odd coincidence that both of the sellers you recommended are located in the same borough (the usa is a huge place!). also seemed strange that you linked to the sellers' profiles, instead of the actual items.
so tell us, are you the seller? or are you just friends with the person who runs both of these ebay accounts?
either way, i bought em both. mainly because i live in brooklyn too, so the shipping shouldn't take too long.

Just to follow-up here. I bought one of this guy's batteries and am not happy with what I got. I believe it's not an OEM battery but a counterfeit battery (the void sticker is wrong, and other things aren't identical to my OEM battery). Additionally, it's somewhat defective. Once it hits ~30%, it dies and cannot power the phone any longer. I've gone on multiple charge cycles now and it's predictable that my phone will just randomly die somewhere between 30-34% battery left. If I try to turn it back on, it doesn't even attempt. After charging it for ~30-45 seconds, then I'm able to turn it back on and it immediately reports ~30-34% battery but will die if I pull the charger off of it. It's fine between 35%-100% though.
All-in-all, I have pretty much paid $20 for a mostly-useless battery. I've sent the guy a message - we'll see if he fixes the situation. But at this time, I definitely cannot recommend this guy and, in fact, I somewhat dis-recommend him. I see absolutely no reason to go with him over the $9 for 2 batteries + charger people.

They've responded to me and are offering either a replacement or a refund. Of course I have to ship the defective one back on my own dime (that's not right imo - if they ship me a defective product, it should be their dime that fixes the problem).
So they're at least doing most of what they should do in this scenario. Not a "bad" buyer in all regards, but bad in that 1) they sent me a counterfeit product while claiming it's OEM and 2) they won't cover return shipping the defective/counterfeit product that they sent me. I'll never shop with them again but rather than advising others to not shop with them, I'll simply advise them that the one product I bought from them was a counterfeit while it was advertised as OEM, so be informed if you buy from them.
EDIT:
I noticed in their return policy that they say they'll charge a 15% restocking fee for any refunded item. I asked and they will NOT be charging me this fee. So they're doing right in this aspect.
I've bought a a replacement battery on eBay. It looks exactly like the original which came with the phone, except for the white stick at the top (in my HTC HD2 days, the white stick was a sign of fake - or the other way round).
Thing is: with my normal usage: calls, video, SMS, WiFi etc. it is lasting around 9hr. The original is lasting more. Not amazingly more, but 20%-30% more, and % metering of remaining battery look way more reliable in the original.
Also, a very strange thing happens in the new battery: if I turn off the phone with say 33% of battery, when I turn it on again it may go to 7%. Then it INCREASES up to 13% or more, and then back down again.
This may be a fake battery? A defective battery?

Meaning, it is good enough to use (better than the unbranded ones), but I can't expect it to behave and last like the real original one?

ebay has been overrun with "genuine fakes". Although they are not technically BAD, the voltage detection is almost always WAY off and very problematic, which leads me to believe the battery could harm devices with long term use. I bought three batteries for my HD2, one which I knew was a non genuine, two which I thought were genuine and only one turned out to be, but it was purchased from a US seller who sold them as genuine or full refund, taken from actual HTC phones.
I even bought a battery for my samsung digital camera on ebay once, guy said "GENUINE, NOT FAKE, SAMSUNG OFFICIAL", even sent an original (see genuine fake) box for proof. Popped in the battery and lo and behold: FAKE! Guy offered a full refund and said to ship battery back. Which I never did, because shipping back to China costs twice as much as the item you buy.
You reaaaaally have to be careful buying batteries, flash memory or any electronic for that matter off ebay. Crooks everywhere. Especially when they ship from China!

I've bought batteries off eBay that shipped from Hong Kong for my other phone in the past that turned out to be real. At least they worked and lasted just the same as a real one. To this day those batteries still work perfectly fine. They even looked exactly the same so well just have to see

thanks for this! they look good to me and for 12.99 you cant really go wrong. i have some batteries around from my og epic still and I rarely if ever have to use them because my battery life is great now. nut, this does look like a good buyt to me. im tempted to get it just for the charger. i lost mine and cant find it. i have a 4 and a 2 year old boy so theres no telling where it ended up. probably at the dump now...

For anyone that may be interested in batteries that are exclusively Samsung OEM: don't purchase these. They are generic. This posting is rather misleading.
Just a few points of thought: Nowhere in the listing does it say they are stock OEM Samsung batteries. The picture is there to throw you off, which has apparently done its job. lol The price and logic don't warrant it being OEM. For the same price as 3 generic batteries, you can get 3 OEM Samsung batteries? Course not, just think about it. Also, it would be illogical of the seller to sell an OEM product so low. The Chinese are known for a lot of things, stupidity is not one of them. lol Lastly, if the batteries end up looking like the picture, does that mean they're OEM? No, because of the above reasons, which are logic and price. The Chinese already produce a legitimate version and/or knockoff version of almost everything one can think of...do you think they aren't capable of copying and creating the same simple logo and sticker onto the generic batteries as there are on the OEM batteries? Of course they can. With ease.
That being said, the generic batteries aren't exactly garbage. They're just fine and have the potential of working just as good as OEM batteries. Though there are some lemons here and there that don't work up to par, and some that don't work at all. I just wouldn't expect to get a Samsung OEM product.
Coincidentally, I myself bought another set of 3 generic 1800mAh batteries + 1 battery wall charger from eBay today for $9.99 + free shipping and should have them in less than a week thanks to buying from a U.S. seller.

Sorry, but I gotta vent (and inform) about this...there's a seller from China on eBay with a poor feedback rating selling the highly popular Samsung 32GB MicroSD Class 10 cards for roughly $15 each (they normally sell for between $50 to $75 and still have counterfeits among them), and some moe-rons snatched up about 400 of them in about 3 days time. Really, people? With the ridiculous, rampant amount of fake microSD cards on the internet market, you're actually going to believe a Chinese seller with a poor feedback rating selling "OEM" Samsung newest generation microSD cards for $15?? Common sense isn't so common. Bottomline: you get what you pay for. OK I'm done venting.
i ended up picking up a set of 3 1800 mah batteries and a charger for 13 bucks. tethering 4g really does a number on my battery (guess its the wifi + wimax being on at the same time) and it would be nice to swap these out when needed.
One thing im concerned about, do these batteries heat up with constant use? ive felt the stock battery go up to 42 degrees and i think any warmer than this may end up damaging my phone.
I would bet my middle testicle that those things are as fake as a chola's eyebrows.

dont really care about them being fake, just dont want these Chinese?? cells overheating and damaging my phone.
for thirteen bucks shipped i didnt really expect oem batteries, just something to use/drain/swap while tethering
I bought these.. 3 and external charger. I don't regret it one bit. I could careless about battery drain now. I can now use my phone and enjoy full usage without having to worry. I highly recommend it. Although it will take a month to come in. If you are even slightly considering it, I say go for it.

I'm gonna order some from HK because I can't find any in the US.
I switch between the 4 all the time (1 OEM and 3 generic). The three generics are numbered so I can keep track of them. I've had them since mid November, and I haven't noticed any difference in battery life relative to the stock battery.
I haven't had an overheating issues with any of the batteries either.
i have generic batteries as well and at first thought they were the same capacity as the OEM stock battery but that's only from 100 down to 40%. with the generic batteries, once i get to 40% if i reboot the phone it'll drop down DRASTICALLY to ~10%.
well, the seller in the ebay link, has almost 11000 sales, and a 99.4% positive reviews, so I would think its safe to buy from him..I am sure they are not "real" samsung batteries but, hell, for 13 bucks for 3 batteries and a charger, who cares!
China makes the best lipo batteries on earth. They also probably make the worst. It's a tossup. Luckily there is a good way to tell sometimes. The Chinese are more capitalist than we are now, so if a company in China makes good batteries they will put their name on them. If they make good product and only sell good product, they will gain notoriety and get to increase their prices to cash in on it.
So on these no-name batteries, either take the chance or buy Korean from a trusted retailer. Wot wah!
Had nothing but bad experiences buying batteries from Ebay, then again last time I did it was for my oldschool Motorola RAZR.
Just wanted to report back on the ebay batteries. So far so good, though they are definitely not as good as my stock battery. Good for swapping out when tethering etc. They do heat up with use, the max i saw while tethering is 47c. At these temps its unlikely they will last long, but for ~4 bucks each i guess they are replaceable.
The bundled charger puts out 5.2v at 800mah though it does have an annoying blue led that's always on while plugged in(black duct tape took care of this for me). Would have been nice if they bundled a usb cable, the one i had laying around works just fine.
Overall I had a great experience with the ebay seller who shipped China post->USPS, took about 10 business days.

I miss when it was just stuff that fell off the back of a truck and people selling their used stuff. Now it's just chinese people dropshipping stuff that takes them two weeks to locate before they actually ship it. *fart*
Review after 30 days of rotated use:
These batteries are cheap. Very cheap, at best I would estimate 1500mAh, and they only go downhill from there. Now I'm lucky to last 7 hours with streaming radio. I would estimate I'm down to 1-1200mAh after less than 10 charge cycles.
I also broke the tabs on the charger inserting a battery too forcibly, but easily fixed with ABS cement.
However, I only bought them for streaming, tethering and to keep cycle count on OEM battery down, but it may not be worth it to you given the terrible life cycle.

I used it for one week now. With stock battery i am getting 7 hours with light browsing and phone call. With QCell battery i'm getting around 8 hours.

These batteries are quite good. The charger is very handy in charging up the spares. Highly recommend this

I've bought a bunch of 3rd party batteries for my previous phones (Nexus One, Sensation), and have found that they're pretty much all crap and any perceived gains are simply psychological. Actual batteries mAh ratings are often significantly exaggerated on the product labeling, this can easily be determined by peeling off the label and looking for serial and model numbers printed on the metal battery casing. Googleing these numbers brings up product data sheets from manufacturers in China with the actual mAh rating.
I now only buy OEM batteries as I think it's the only way of ensuring your getting what you think you are. Think of it this way, if Samsung could pack more mAh into a specific size, they probably would. The size of a battery is limited by the battery technology, so if you calculate the mAh/gram density of the OEM battery I would use that as a guideline. 3rd party batteries advertising densities higher than that are probably exaggerating the actual capacity.
Jim, completely agree, and have usually found non-OEM batteries to be total crap, however it's possible to find some that aren't. I bought some PowerGen batteries for my Nexus One about a year ago and they've given me performance on par with the OEM battery. I made that purchase based on positive reviews and since they only cost about $10 (IIRC), way cheaper than OEM, it was a good risk and deal. Worked for me. I'm hoping the QCell batteries will be the same, but haven't seen enough positive reviews to know yet...

I don't want to come off as a completely cynic (which I will), but the two people talking about these QCell batteries are named "ckang008" and "awong12." The latter of the two has 3 total posts on XDA, and "ckang" has a handful of posts since registering this past January (55 total) talking up these QCell batteries for all different devices. Again, they could both be very real people, but this thread to me seems like a bit of a hoax.
But if this thread in fact legit, I do agree with Jim and GPSRider as I have similar experiences with OEM vs non-OEM batteries in the past.
Any updates? I've bought 3rd party batteries before, for my HTC Sensation. Something similar, 2x1900mAh + charger, but theose were Anker, and they were pretty good. Lasted longer than the stock one.
I'm considering trying these as I find it very comfortable to have spare batteries and a battery charger.

I can understand your skepticism. I am one hell of skeptical person too. But I do owe these Qcell batteries (I bought a pair with a charger) and have had them for 4/5 months now. No problems absolutely.
Take the 2050mah for granted. They are not any higher than stock. But the build quality is very good at least for me.
I've had great experience with my 2100 vzw extended battery but that's made by Samsung.

I've just picked up a refurbed H910 and want to add at least 2 spare batteries, but as the phone was never released here in the UK AND it's 2 years old, finding batteries that aren't rubbish "ebay knock-offs" really isn't easy. Does anyone over here have any suggestions? Ideally I'd like to keep the phone for 12-18 months but I'm not wanting to spend the earth having units sent direct from LG. For my Samsung phones, I used to buy Anker or RavPower batteries and they were great. I'd happily get some from the US if I can sort out a way of getting them out to me.
Also, finding the genuine external charging cradle is proving to be a nightmare - the phone has only cost me £155, so spending £50 on a charger seems crazy! If anyone has an old one they're not using and fancies selling it to me, just let me know (I'd pay to ship from the US).
Fingers crossed I can get something and get myself a great set up!

bear in mind that LG is going to charge you over 40 quid for that battery, with the excuse that it's an imported item.
the best solution I found was buying a Perfine 3200mah battery on amazon. Perfine boys have a good reputation with their batteries, virtually there's no difference from the original battery, it lasts just the same, I couldn't be happier.

Using a perfine 6400 extended battery is a worthy upgrade, I was against extended batteries as ienjoued the slim profile but this thing is a beast, 2 days heavy usage and I can always switch to the OEM battery for parties etc when I need a slim giant 5.7' device to fit in my jeans.
The battery cradle and OEM spare (last time I checked) are available on eBay from sellers like chiangiairport etc. For around £30-£40 I'll check when I get back home for you. But honestly the extended batteries are awesome.

Thanks but I really can't see me going down the extended battery route - I had one on my first ever smartphone and rarely used it, I'd rather pick up 2 spare batteries.

I'm looking into rooting my H910 today but it looks like quite the minefield! It was a LOT more straightforward with the Samsung's I had - only one or 2 methods and it was easy to see which was currently working!

Possibly. Turns out the V20 uses the same size battery as the Stylo 3 aka the Stylus 3 which as i understand DID get released in the UK. Ask LG UK about a spare battery for the Stylus 3 ?

Charger is a tricky one. The V20 was released in India. Unfortunately LG India didn't release the charger here like they did with the G4 & G5. So i had to import mine from the US and it worked out around 75 quid OEM with a battery as well. This was last Nov. Likely harder to find now a days
Lg uk wont help at all even for the stylo 3 battery there useless and refer you to the horrror centre that is sbe ltd that tell you to call lg hahabthe vest way around it was to use replacebase battery

Can you do me a favour and let me know how you get on with this? I might have a look around online and see if someone's posted any info how you check the difference between the fakes and genuine units and get back to you, if that's ok?
I bought one of these a few weeks ago and it's performing around the same as the factory battery. I'm a little disappointed to only be getting around 4 hours SOT, but it'll have to do - this is the last top phone I can see that'll have removable batteries (a must have for my travels) so I'd rather swap it out once a day if need be than potentially have 7+ with my Xiaomi Note 5 but get caught out having to charge mid way through the day when I'm on the road.

The batteries supplied by Replace Base are all guaranteed genuine OEM items, there's no need to research if you buy from them. The LG battery is only a quid more (including postage) than the grey item you purchased from Amazon.
I use two mains chargers:
- dodocool QC 3.0 18Watt, purchased two years ago from Amazon
- kit QC 2.0, purchased from Asda two months ago
Both work fine and charge at the faster rates.
I also have the LG BCK-5200 charging kit.
The 'charger' you linked is a pos, I'd not entertain anything like that... the appearance and price tell you a lot.

I've seen a lot of "genuine" OEM accessories over the years and have come across quite a few sites and sellers who claim their stock to be genuine, but I prefer to check than to take their word for it. I've had zero dealings with the site you mention and have never had the name come up before so I'm obviously dubious. I'm not sure what you said the battery I linked was "grey" as it's not a parallel import, it's just a third party unit, but it does come with an 18 month warranty and through Amazon. I've read about some of the genuine LG V20 batteries being old stock and not performing well. But if you're happy with the one(s) you've received then that's great.
Mains chargers aren't an issue (though personally I've no desire to use QC as it's likely to degrade the batteries quicker than a regular charge), it's only the external that I'm looking for. LG BCK-5200 are like hens teeth, I've been looking for one in this country for around 2 months, the cheapest I can find is through ebay from Israel for £35 which is way too much for a plastic charging cradle! I've had similar ones from Samsung and they performed no differently from a cheap third party unit I had for my last HTC which is actually similar to the "pos" one that I linked. I'm hoping to find an LG one but refuse to pay £35 plus £12+ per battery for a phone that cost me £155 a month ago - that's crazy. Surely someone out there must have a dead V20 and want rid of theirs?!
