Been following this gamepad since hearing about it a few months ago called the Playpad from Nyko. It's getting released on the 1st of October for $40 on Amazon. The Playpad is Bluetooth connectable, looks really slick coming in black or white, and comes with a carrying case which holds the controller along with a nice dock they give you with it. It features "dual analog stick, d-pad, 4 face buttons, left and right dual shoulder/trigger buttons". They also provide a free application in the Play Store that gives a list of great titles to use the Playpad with.

From the website...
For expanded compatibility, the PlayPad works with Nyko’s free Android app, called Playground, to provide backwards compatibility for the PlayPad Pro with legacy tablet titles, including those that currently utilize keyboard mapping, touch mapping and mouse support. Playground provides profile management for customized control schemes, as well as pre-set profiles for top selling and popular games. The PlayPad Pro works with any Android 3.0 device or higher with Bluetooth.

Can't wait to get my hands on one of these but can't find anywhere to pre-order it in the UK apart from Sainsburys and it's ridiculously overpriced at £39.99

Is there like a way to mount the phone to this? If not then I see no real benefit of using this over a PS3 controller.

I got mine in a bit early and wrote a quick summation of my thoughts here:

Yes you can use with emulators

Wii Classic Controller WIP

So I can't post pics yet, but I am working on combining a Power A mini wiimote into a classic controller pro. It is the same thing MOG has been working on, and he has done some great stuff.
So Key points so far.
The mini wiimote does work with the Droid X at least, and it does connect to the classic controller pro.
I can't cut the wiimote pcb, because there are just too many connections all over the board, unlike the typical wiimote where the top half can be cut.
Next step is to solder the wires correctly for the wiimote and the classic controller.
Stay posted if interested. If it goes well, I plan to add a dock like MOG did, but also USB power and what not, depending how much I like it. Kind of just combining multiple things I've seen on the net.
So the soldering went well, but for some reason the player indicator lights keep flashing.
It actually didn't take long, now i just need something to glue it together. I'll post pics once I get to 8 posts.

Wicked
That is totally wicked! I have been using a Wiimote to play GBA and SNES games quite a bit lately (ordered a classic controller online waiting for shipping). I love being able to not use the on screen controls.

I did something similar to this, but did not cut the controller I used an adapter and glued it. And modded a case to attach the phone to the controller.
Looks awesome
I've made 2 and will make my 3rd soon. Here's the idea for my 3rd.
-must use classic controller (not pro version) this gives u a flat back surface
-wiimote will be horizontal on the back of the CC (put the trigger on the back left side) gives u a nice trigger for shooter games!
Still need to see exactly how ill mount the phone but I really want a trigger like the n64 controller.
Just found this thread while searching for advise. I want to do something like this, but I want to mount the Power A board INSIDE the CC or CC Pro shell. Has anyone tried this, will it fit? I'd like a switch on it that tells the buttons to work as CC buttons or Wiimote buttons, and add a rechargable battery and charging port. Basically I want to make a copy of the Wii U branded Interworks Pro Controller that does exactly this. I would buy one, but I hear they don't work all that well. (bad dpad, shuts off, etc).
I hear the datel retro controller works. It looks just like the classic but its wireless.

[Q] Bluetooth keyboard?

So, I've been looking for a way to use my Cappy to take notes in classes, instead of my laptop. Searching on Google brought up a Youtube video of a Apple bluetooth keyboard working with the Samsung Vibrant (still newbie, can't post links).
Does anyone how or if this is possible with the Captivate? If not, does anyone know of a good alternative for under $50?
xda>captivate>accessories (aka where this post is) look down a few posts... theres already a few.

I would think it works. Bluetooth is a pretty universal technology and as far as I know, the Vibrant and Captivate are near identical. I know there will be some internal changes for the different frequencies and some exterior styling differences, but fundamentally the same.
Yeah, I should have mentioned in the OP that the Dinovo mini keyboard and similars are not really what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for something closer to a netbook-size keyboard.
ebay search : "mini bluetooth keyboard" theres all sorts of sizes
Ok, thanks, do you (or anyone else) know if the bluetooth keyboard being sold for Ipad (it's being sold as 'Slim Wireless Mini Bluetooth Keyboard for iPad Mac PC') will work with the Captivate?
Seems like a great option, given the price and portability.
I've used my desktop Bluetooth keyboard with my phone without any issues. I would wager that ANY Bluetooth keyboard would work. I also used a Bluetooth mouse. That was cool, a mouse pointer shows up on the screen.
There must be literally hundreds of options for Bluetooth keyboards. Just check out Amazon, or Google shopper.
Just like memory is universal I bet Bluetooth accessories are universal. People slap compatibility on anything, "micro SD card for Captivate", "AC to USB adapter for iPod", etc. I bet the iPad keyboard would work fine.

So, I bought the keyboard I mentioned and it works great.
Only problem is I can't use the keyboard's accents (tilde, for example). Is there any key mapping app I can use?
Sent from my Cappy using kickass FireFly 2.9, oc/uv Onix 2.0.5 and xda premium app.
the red accents? hold FN while pushing other buttons. its not a toggle its a hold+
shift gives you CAPS and blue accents

There's an option to view prices in Euros because they ship some products to other countries but not everything...

I've heard you can connect a keyboard or a mouse to the dock. Makes it REALLY nice for emailing etc!
USB OTG(On The Go) - LiveDock™ is prepared for USB OTG devices. If your phone has support for USB OTG (available in Android 2.3) then you will be able to turn your LiveDock™ to a mini PC being able to connect USB devices such as gamepad, keyboard and mouse to LiveDock™.
will this dock work on my X10?
@Khaki
unfortunetly cant be lol ! hehehe i want that thing ... but nothing here in middle east ..
i'd rather have this dock

im not interested
After I get my Arc S I'm thinking of buying one.
did you tried it?
IMHO the make or break feature will be whether or not games can 'see' this controller as an Xperia Play pad. I know some games developers are now supporting some USB gamepads, but compared with the optimized Play titles these will always be relatively few and far between.
Fructel have taken the approach of contacting games developers and asking them to support their pad. In my view, this is a mistake (unless of course the Gametel REALLY takes off, and there are as many out there as Xperia Play owners). What they should have done is taken the Play's controller interface as a de-facto standard, and simply made theirs compatible with it. I'm still hoping this might become possible with 3rd party tools.
Anyone tried this?? Its still only available in UK !!!

But then you have the problem of not being able to install "Play only" games.
I think it's a lot better to use a PS3 sixaxis controller. (Cheaper and better control!)
Search for sixaxis in market and download the app. Root is required though!

Question NFC chip / Mifare Classic support

Hi,
Does anyone know if the Oneplus 9 [Pro] has an NFC chip supporting Mifare Classic? That usually means a chip from NXP. I have checked
MCT COMPATIBLE_DEVICES (and INCOMP.) and
ShopNFC NFC-list but they are not listed (and actually the shopnfc list has Pro 7 listed as not classic compatible, but the MCT document says the opposite, so even if someone know that 9 [pro] has the same chip I am not really convinced).
If you have a 9 [Pro] and a Mifare Classic card (quite a lot of travelling/bus cards and access cards/keyfobs using that variant) and want to help,
download MCT from F-droid or Google Play and see if the phone recognizes a card (should give a pop-up with something alike "New tag found").
Would help a lot in my decision of buying a new phone. Currently using Oneplus 6.
Thanks
It seems to detect my bus card which is migrate classic. It only take a long time to make a dump, don't know if that is normal..

Ohh thank you!! Perfect. That is a 4k card, so takes quite some time to read. I assume that you have a 9 Pro, the screenshot resolution seems correct also.
I only wish it had a 3,5mm connector as well, then it would be a no-brainer. (Hm, maybe I should start a new thread to hear if there are any usb-c splitters that supports fast charging...)
I have the 9 pro indeed.
Maybe this adapter is what you are looking for....

Good.
Yes I've seen those, but I'm afraid that it will not support fast charging, especially since Oneplus requires an original cable *and* an original charger. But will probably give it a try.
For future reference, I also got an answer from Oneplus:
"We would like to inform you that both OnePlus 8 Pro and 9 Pro comes with SN100T NFC Chipset which is manufactured by NXP."
