ISO text to speech app to use from context menu - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Anyone know of something? Thanks
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

No one? I've found text to speech apps but too much work from a document/Web page to the translator. Just wish there was one that was built into the context menu.

I'm not sure what you're looking for, but take a look at AVX here:

Thanks, tried it, but I could be wrong but I don't think it can do what I'm trying to do. And it was kinda big and bulky.
I want to be able to select text from within any browser or pdf viewer and tap to select such text to be read back to me.

I was wondering if there has been any updates regarding this. I'm also looking for a context menu driven option for text to voice. Quote surprised I haven't ram across one yet, and not for lack of trying. But then, I'm not a programmer so maybe there's some restriction that's preventing its development?
Thanks in advance!

How do you send mass text on galaxy nexus?

Hey guys I really can figure this out. Can anybody help out?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
You have to use another SMS app like Go SMS or something.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
+1, definitely in GoSMS, where you add recipients in compose new message you can select entire groups or all contacts...
You can add a bunch of people to the recipient list just by tapping it

I use hand cent because it has a cleaner look and less childish...

Amen to that, I can't use any of their stuff

GroupText it's in the market.
You can type multiple names in the stock msging app. Just tap on the address bar and keep inputing names.
Mind you, it cant email a group but it can mass text.

What bug? Read posts above yours.
After you enter the first recipient, tap in the TO: field enter another one, then keep adding to your hearts content.

That is a pain in the ass though. Read the report I filed to see why it is.
Not only is it a pain in the ass, but there's also a limit to how many people you can add when using that method.
I can't believe Google still hasn't given us a built-in option to see a list of all contacts with tick boxes next to their names for easy selection. My Symbian phones from 2004 could do that.

New gmail layout..any way to multi select/delete inbox

I know this is a general question but it applies to any Android device but since im on a s4 ill ask here.
Since the new Gmail update with the new Colorful interface look, which I find useless.... is there a way to multi select all emails in the in box ,to delete instead of long pressing one by one?

Clicking on the colored letter / picture will select the email (as if it were a checkbox).
You can also disable the new look by unchecking 'Sender image' in settings.

:thumbup:Nice, that partly resolves the lengthy one by one delete process, but I sorta meant like a multi select/select all at once, then after just uncheck each one you want to keep.
But I guess only way is to check each email one by one .
Thanks though

Ah, yeah the app doesn't have a 'select all' feature. I suppose the app is designed to cater to users who keep more e-mail than delete.
You can long press on one email then select many.... It will highlight all and you can then delete several at a time.

Anyone have the Google Talk APK (Hangouts blows)

Wouldn't it auto update anyway? Why you hate hangouts? Its pretty much everything talk was plus tons more...

I was able to find the Talk Apk. Auto-update is easily preventable by setting it not to do so.
Talk is far, far more visually appealing and navigable. When chatting with someone, I find it impossible to side swipe to the user list screen for some reason. Hangouts is just another example of trying to "fix" something that wasn't broken. What is the "tons" more you refer to? It still hasn't merged SMS, which would actually have been useful.
I bet you like the new Maps too and the loss of layer functionality?

Perhaps to you. I do like the new maps it seems to lock quicker. No need for the attitude... I find the navigation much easier with the swiping and I love the look of the application. Its far easier to add people from your contacts as well as the different levels of navigation within the application. Love how easy it is overall versus talk. The new maps application lost a feature I don't use... Not saying its alright for all but your attitude sucks...

Could anyone using this tell me what version of Talk this is? Also the best way to remove Hangouts would be to delete it via TiBu?

You can remove this by TB. Will work fine.
But as @cstrife999 mentioned, I also just remove apk from system/app/ folder.

Titanium backup says it's version 4.2.2-612687 (330)
just uninstall hangouts, and it should revert to talk. that's been my experience.
hangouts sucks. i still can't easily see who's online and who isn't, that's a huge PITA.

With the new update you should be able to see who is online. I know I can.
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using xda app-developers app
I just checked and I still think they need to improve on that. I'd like it if they showed the online status in the opened hangouts window instead of just the new hangouts window.
If they did that then it's worth switching to, but as it stands, talk is still superior in online chat in my opinion.

Yep, that's what I did on my N7 (2013). However, I backed it up first just in case and THEN delete it.
One thing I hate about Hangout is that BY DEFAULT, ALL conversation are recorded. I can disable this, but only per conversation instead of the default option. So I have to disable this for EVERY single chat windows, both old and new ones.
Hangouts irritated the hell out of me as well. After using Talk for a couple of years, the update to Hangouts drove me straight to WhatsApp.

Does talk work on 4.4?
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hangout is a bit quirky, as I've yet to figure out how to send an SMS directly through the app, but it's much more feature packed than Talk I think.
Can someone point me in the right direction? I basically have to go into my Contacts and just choose to send a message. There's got to be a way to do it through Hangout itself though, right?

How to open and annotate pdf i s note?

Been playing around with s note for a while, and noticed that I'm failing to find how to open and edit pdf in s note. I've seen several people mention it but l can't seem to find where and how.
Help.

Not true. Here's how to import a pdf into the new S-note. However, I suggest picking another app, such as ezpdf.
open s-note and navigate to "All Notes" section by tapping the top left corner.
tap the menu softkey on the device
select import
If you don't see the import option, you're not in "all notes" you're in "recent."
Cool thx !
Btw any recommendations regarding pdf apps. Tested ezpdf, but find it a bit bulky and cumbersome. ..

Note7 won't stop blocking Offensive words...

I have it unchecked in google but it won't stop?
Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk
Are you trying to block it in the voice search, or keyboard?
Also I feel like the easiest solution would be to not use offensive words. What words are you even using?
The problem I'm having is even mild words like damn get blocked out and yes sometimes I would like to use more aggressive language in text messages the problem seems to live with Samsung's voice input if I switch over to the Google keyboard which utilizes Google voice input I don't have this problem. And I cannot find a setting in Samsung voice input to turn off the blocking of offensive words.

Couldn't you just type it out? Don't use S Voice much so I'm not much help, lol
I checked earlier and you're right. There's literally no option that I can see, sorry I can't help more.
Yeah that's what I kind of was seeing myself as much as I do like the Samsung keyboard I will just have to use the Google keyboard which allows me to use the Google voice input

Found that setting easy it's the same one that's in the Google app setting the problem is the Samsung voice to text that the Samsung keyboard uses doesn't have a setting to turn off the filtering

I'm dropping 800 on a communication device. Regardless of what others think (" I feel like the easiest solution would be to not use offensive words. " )- If I want to insert an obscenity, I should not be restricted in doing so. To the initial post -- yes, I am seeing this as well. It's sad that something so trivial irritates me. If this was something from Fischer Price, perhaps it would be warranted, but the fact remains, it is not and if I want to call somebody a *insert derogatory term* smoker or "Mother ******", I should be able to.
Solution -- download the Google Keyboard. I did it and this ridiculous scenario goes away. Next thing would be to find out a work around to the Live wallpapers. *sigh*
