If it is under warranty, go to your nearest VZW store. They should hook you up with a replacement.

ya im heading there tonight.

If they say no, then replacing it yourself is really easy. It took me 10 mins including reassembly.
I mean it didn't solve the problem, my phone still won't charge but it was an easy install.

Let me know what Verizon says I have the same issue

They'll say no, guys. You didn't buy it from Verizon, and they know it, they will obviously look at your account.
I tried.

I have the same problem. Luckily Verizon is sending me a new one under warranty. Seems this phone is more easily susceptible to that than my moto phones I had.

Sent my Nexus to Samsung :(

So out of nowhere this weekend my nexus's power button was wacky and only working 70% of the times i pressed it. I sent it out to samsung with an RMA number today, and am using my girl's old droid pro for the time being.
Do you get a new phone with an RMA? How long does it typically take? Is it possible theyll say its not broken you just have to start pressing it harder?
Thanks guys.

Sending phone into Samsung, advice?

Hello everyone, my GS2 is hard bricked because I accidentally flashed an I1900 international ROM on my T989 and I chatted with Samsung and they emailed a shipping label and such since it's under warranty. Is there anything I should do to give me added security to them not finding out that my phone was rooted and flashed or can they see that since my phone is hard bricked?

If you can't get into recovery or Download mode, there's not much you can do. If you can, I would flash the "Download Reset" to reset the download counter to 0 and make it seem marginally less like you've modified it.
Thanks for the quick reply, I can't get the phone to do ANYTHING at all no matter what I tried even a jig didn't get a single response from the phone. I have read on here that people have done something very similar to what I did and Samsung repaired it for free and someone from Samsung told them not to flash roms on it lol.

Yeah, if you can't access it at all, there's not much you can actually do to make it any less obvious. Maybe tape a $20 to the inside of the battery compartment. Lol.
ahahaha well hopefully if they find out and decide to not repair it under warranty they will tell me instead of repairing it and forcing me to pay.

As what I know, they dont care if you installed a custom rom on it or not. I think you will be ok. Do they charge you shipping fee? I request a warranty exchange from Tmobile, and they charge me 20$.

Help! Phone not turning on

Hey guys,
I am having an issue with my phone. I had CM10-M2 running on my phone and I didnt like it that much because I missed some of the stock features so I decided I would flash the foxhound 1.3 rom that just came out. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1708371 that one.
I followed the instructions and did everything that was recommended.
The phone turned off and now won't even go into recovery or anything. Just a black screen.
Please help!
ps the phone is on Rogers and is an i747ma
Thanks,
Zach
Edit: I dont know what this means but when I take the battery out and plug it in the red light comes on but still nothing else

Welp ****. I took it to Rogers but since I bought it off of kijiji they couldnt do anything. It was bought on October 2nd and they said I couldnt even send it for repair because it wasnt registered to me.
I called Samsung and they said to ship it for a repair but even if they can't repair it, they couldnt replace it. The lady said she would have to tell Rogers to replace it but Rogers already said they wouldnt.

Seems like you should research more before flashing roms. If you find out how to fix your phone be more careful next time. If you aren't sure always ask in the Q&A section. A comment from a user can save your phone.

Using Sprint Insurance.. Please help!

So, my phone fell out of my pocket the other day, and the screen cracked and spidered and the touch is no longer working. I was going to have it replaced through the insurance. The phone is rooted, unlocked, and I was wondering do I need to return it to stock before sending it back, and was wondering how to do this? I've been looking through threads and haven't seen anything about relocking and returning to stock. With the screen not working I'm not sure it is an issue, but I want to be sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help.
Sorry to hear about it.
Look under Android Development. There is a thread that will help you get lgog back to stock.
Hint: it's the very first one.
Or just return it as is. If the touch screen doesn't function due too crack, i doubt they'll make a fuss about rooted or not.

i went through the EXACT same situation last week, my phones screen broke and no longer registered touches. Asurion is out of stock for the LGOG, they are going to try and offer you a GSIII, tell them no, explain to them the specs are nowhere near comparable and demand at least a Galaxy Note 2, or make them find you a LGOG, they said it wasnt in stock but once i made a complaint with the BBB they just happened to "find" one. They can make it happen but you have to be firm with them.
I gave a copy of Sprint's service policy to xda and the other sites some time ago. I'm surprised that rumor of Sprint not servicing rooted phones keeps coming up.
You will be fine sending it in as is. If it is severely damaged, Asurion will just salvage it for parts to rebuild another LG.

Refurbished

Hi guys, after having a faulty Note 3 for about a month I have requested a new phone from Tmobile.
They have promised me a "Like New" device, not refurbished.
But I do not really trust them, I have a feeling like even my phone is not new.
I know that there must be a way to check if my phone is new or refurbished. I have 4.3 android installed.
All the standard codes do not work ... ##786# etc .... can anyone help? Maybe point me to some app?
P.S.
Nova launcher did not help either.
Thank you.
after a month, yes you're getting a refurbished device. new exchange is 14 days or less, everyone knows that. stop worrying if its refurbished, if it works better than your last one then all is fine... just focus on testing the replacement and make sure that it works for you. if it works fine then move on. its a refurbished replacement. its replacing your damaged device.
it'll be fine

My whole question is how to test the new device ....
Just regular check ... ? Or maybe there is some kind of an app.
And I do not think its fair that I should get a refurbished device if I received a bad one since day one.
No app can test a phone like fully. It is under warranty. Plus you won't have it long enough. Just enjoy it

I wonder if I got a refurb when I bought my note from mobile. I had an issue with the phone not wanting to boot after pulling the battery and replacing. I didn't notice this until months after. I recently left tmobile for straight talk so I couldn't take it back to them. So I decided to send into Samsung even though I tripped Knox. They fixed it (according to the service website) and its on its way back. I'll test out out to make sure, then sell it.

Ill keep that in mind.... Want to have phone that is not refurbished.. I bought this one for $700 refurbished is half price.
WTF they steal 50% of the value for nothing?
Another point: Refurbished phones are 90 days warranty while normal ones 1 year...
