[Q] Flash MODEM in Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 i8160 - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone, I have a question.
I have the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and I want to change the radio (modem) because it gives me some reception problems.
Can I flash the radio part of a ROM (for example the XXLD8 Germany or Poland) on my H3G Italy ROM (with PDA: NELG2), to improve reception?
Should I take the file "modem.bin.md5" which is located in ".tar.md5"?
The most important question is: anyone know how to flash the file modem.bin.md5 with odin?
Thank you very much!

I had already tried, with the result of soft brick.
The problem is that the extension of the modem is .bin.md5, and it doesn't work whit odin.

Ok. But why wont You use german/polish software all together and then rooot it and made it custom as You wish ??

Maybe this?

Willl the one that has been used on the Galaxy S 1900 work with the Nexus S GT-I9020.

This Is very important as it may help a couple hundred people restore there IMEI numbers and un-brick there phones.
If not can someone point me in the right direction as to where I can get the correct .pit file for the Nexus S GT-I9020 - 3G
Thanks in advance
How did this happened? What ROM did you flash?

The NexusSense v03 its re-wrote around 100 people's IMEI numbers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034130&page=85
have you got any ideas on how we can fix this, I was hoping to flash back to stok with Odin re-formating, but I need the correct .pit file and can't find one anywhere.
Thanks
I've read the not even replacing that file will do the trick mate...I'm looking in to this issue as we speak.

Thanks mate, its really appreciated.
I was looking to trade for a Nexus S and got offered one with this issue and another one that installed the earlier build of this ROM. Did this issue occur with earlier versions of that NexusSense ROM or just build 0.3?
Have any of you guys tried to get in contact with Samsung to see if a warranty would work in that case?

Do you think it's do-able ??
This apk looks promising and it installs OK, but doesn't resolve it. It has all the rite commands but it was written for the Galaxy S. Could it not be adapted for the Nexus S ??
Gallaxy unlock tool .apk, with built in signal problems tool = erase efs, restore original IMEI and product code, make bin file.
Just what we need but for the Nexus S.
Well...after gathering the Android eggheads and geeks it was decided that there is nothing we can do about this issue but we did find out that it only affects Nexus S devices.
Sorry mate

Thanks for trying, if it could be done I'm sure xda would have fixed it or certainly be on there way to a fix. Anyway thanks again for looking into it for us all.
Well to add an epilogue........... aren't' you supposed to use the pit831 file ? the 512pit file is not for this device..........
....... you know........... just asking........

TNX for offering your help ...
.. and for posting links to ready2use images!
Now, I read here an article about how to make a custom root without increase the binary counter.
I'll try this way first, because I perfer it, to do those things by myself.
And ... if it doesn't work ... I'm the guilty one!

Thanks in advance!

Are you sure that you flashed the correct FW according to your Phone Model (8160 / 8160P / 8160L)?

I tried the first method and it did not work, maybe I did not state clearly in my first post but I went to sammobile and downloaded the official jellybean and used odin to flash it to my device, and not through kies, going to try the 3 parted thing tomorrow.
Thanks for the reply!

Help Downgrading R810 to chance CSC

Hello All, i just acquired a SM-R810 from another country and i need to change de CSC, i aalready saw that, since my tizen is on 4.0.0.7 I can't do the ODB shell commands but I have to use a combined firmware and ODIN, so I would please ask your guys to help me out finding the firmwares. I could find only the combined for a very old on ASA and i don't know if it would work.
So i ask please, please, can anyone post a combined and a stock firmware for SM-R810 so i can change the SCS?
I already tried on sammobile but they don't have any available, also I don't know where else to look.
Thank you a lot.
Forget Combination Firmware... GWA2 user need this... not GW like SM-R810...
You only need downgrade to older Firmware...
Check this for instance:

Adfree, since you are being such a gentlmen and helping me, tell me, can i Update the firmware after changing the CSC?
Thank you !
FOTA update process is funny jungle...
Inside OXA package are 50 + CSC / Sales Codes...
I only know that DSL1 is for all CSC released...
As you not told me from ... to ... change.
My Crystal Ball is out of Order, so i can not answer if Link I gave you is still valid for your future CSC...
But if not, we con add Link to DSL1... so after CSC change you can jump back to DSL1 with netOdin...
