[ROM][CM10-UNOFFICIAL][Nightly] - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey everyone!
Compiled from straight from CM source. If I find anything useful/worth checking out in review system, I'll cherry-pick and include it.
SODs/RRs seem fixed. I am testing each build before it gets uploaded.
Installation: (the usual)
1. If coming from roms other than CM (wipe!), if not it's up to you. Of course wiping is recommended.
2. Install Rom
3. Install Gapps.
4. Enjoy!
Changelog:
- The usual cm changes: http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#hercules/cm10/next
- Few open cherry-picks from http://review.cyanogenmod.com

To be honest screen flicker is a simple fix with plenty of information accessible via google. Here is a link to the fix. Please thank the OP and here are the changes to be made. I have been running this on stock cm10 or AOKP with no issue. If you are capable of downloading and flashing a rom making these changes should be no problem.
Fixes for build.prop
a) debug.mdpcomp.maxlayer = 1 or 2
b) debug.composition.type = gpu
c) debug.sf.hw = 1
d) debug.egl.hw = 1

I don't want to seem like the pot calling the kettle black, but erikwill posts nightly builds. If you are going to cherry pick mention it in the title. The changes you cherry picked will be part of a normal nightly soon.
Options are great, but in curious what your motivation is?

Just trying things out before they get released. And first and for most tired of SODs and RRs. I plan on adding some more of my own stuff in the future as well. There's always that first time

I've been running this for about an hour and a half and I must say it's very smooth, quick , and responsive. I realize it's too early to comment on RR's and SOD's so I won't. I will say I cannot get gps to lock on my position. I've tried the agps patch, Faster fix , and GPS Status. All to no avail. Other than that, nice job OP. So far so good!
EDIT: Bluetooth phone audio AND bluetooth music work with this build!

Will probably do both. More or less I know what goes where, but I'm starting so it will be a learning curve.

Why does every thread have to be filled with aholes with their only intent to bash the OP, call out duplicate, or refer them to the correct forum. If you have any of these three types of comments, then you sir, are a non contributing ahole. now STFU and go make yourself a cheeseburger and leave the rest of us alone to try out the roms that someone so nicely took the time to download and compile, why not say thank you every once in a while you whiny little aholes.

I feel like the thread is getting derailed, so this is the last I will say...I don't I was the only person wondering if he was going to develop or simply compile. (Which is all I do btw do I'm not hating)

Well, let me get this thread back on track then.
The latest 05 build is already built at http://goo.im/devs/kojot1234/cm-10-20121005-UNOFFICIAL-hercules.zip
So while the rest of the devs were asleep, this man was building 10-05 for us, so enjoy.
One note, I did this morning get a SOD after trying to unlock the screen to view an sms notification.
I am flashing to 10-05 next, and If I get any SOD I will provide kmsg next time.

I am planning on giving this a go in a little bit. First, can I have some feedback? Also, SOD'S? RR'S?

I dont believe its racers rom, at a glance of course, havent flashed yet, but Racer's rom is 356mb and this one is 337mb. Unless he modified some things and took it upon himself to release the rom with his name on it. Dont know and not pointing fingers just yet...

Screen rotation is the only bug I've found, and I've been using it all day, setting it up just how I like it.
edit: I also don't have the home button problem people have been having, the No SIM Card issue comes up after a reboot sometimes, rebooting again fixes it though.
Data is working, rotation is still screwy and this looks to indeed be racing's build... Thank you

[ROM][OFFCIAL][NIGHTLIES] Vanilla RootBox [Feb, 21st, 2013]

As you know, Bajee11 has decided to close his thread due to amount of immaturity in his thread, and I support his decision.
I do however, believe his ROM is 110% amazing, so I've downloaded the source for RootBox and built it.
3 things to make a note of before I begin this thread...
1. If Bajee isn't comfortable with this thread at any point and time, I will close it.
2. Flaming will not be tolerated, I will report you, there are greatful users and they shouldn't suffer for foolishness.
3. I will not build every night, it depends on progress. But once a week for sure. If Bajee11 decides to reopen his thread, this will close.

Upon further inspection, I synced maybe right before this was said. Also, I don't think he has pushed it yet. When he does, I'll sync again and release the next nightly. (Unless of course he wishes to release it)
Pretty cool to do all this and release it for public, but may I ask why you don't ask before you release?

I messaged him. Normally source is available because its supposed to be used and most devs are cool if you link to sources, and give credit (I'm not kanging or anything). If there is a problem with anything, he will let me know via PM and this thread will be gone in an instant. I'm not modifying any of the files, leaving them directly as I got them from the repo, just trying to do my part. This ROM was too good to let die because of some flamers, I hope you understand.

Kernel by Faux123

Just wanted to give everyone notice that there is a new kernel available for our phone even though a thread hasn't been created yet. This is in no way my work just wanted to give everyone the download location of where to get it from till Faux123 decides to create a thread in our forum.
Here's the link:

Why when it is open source if you read the news article all that's needed is a git cherry pick and build. Then its done.

Things are rarely that simple, not because cherry picks don't work, but because some people are in different circumstances than your own. My current phone is a HTC One running a stock kernel, and without more sources custom kernels and ROMs are something of a tricky business right now. I prefer stock when possible, so an Xposed-style framework patch is a good way of "cherry picking" what I would like in a workable manner.
Great that you're sharing the news, but you posted in every thread already and now opened a thread in dev section =/
+1 for good intentions though

That's true, I know that it works for all aosp Roms. Who know maybe someone will figure it out for your phone.

Surely you realize posting in 5 other threads and creating this one aren't every one right? Anyway it can be deleted for all I care, I put this up so developers could have ready access top the info they needed, wasnt just an empty post, but thanks for your support

I didn't make anything, I knew full well someone would have something to say about me putting this here, I even say so in the first post. Obviously you guys are friends and you decided to take up for your Buddy which is fine with me they can pull this anytime they please.. It was only done to benefit all toro+ ROMs I'm not even mad about what he said he has a right to have an opinion and speak it freely... I'm not going to speak on it anymore.. I don't want to receive sn infraction for making more out of something than necessary... If it costs nothing to pass over this post and live your life.. I will be doing the same.. Again this was only made to give allr necessary links to compile.

My two cents...I know goast from the forums, and he is an advanced user and a great resource to me. He's obviously pumped up about halo, and rightly so (it's a pretty amazing innovation by PA team). I'm not attacking anyone, but I like to stay informed about new things, so I appreciated his blast out. Many devs here work demanding jobs, and donate their personal time to development, so this info may help them in this fragmented crazy fast paced world. I just wanted to thank goast for the info, and impart some positive energy here. I'm not a dev, nor am I an expert, but I share goast's passion for android and desire to learn more about it. To me, that's why I love xda...I have a commercially dead device that is still extremely viable thanks to all of the great work here. Ok, I'm done...everybody enjoy halo!
