Sorry for my bad english (i'm italian).
I bought this phone 2 months ago.
This is an Eclair 2.1 Updates 1, but in Asia the firmware is 2.2 froyo.
there are a method for install it on my phone? the Garmin-Asus IT don't show the new firmware and i can't download it.

As it says on the link, the Europe version of 2.2 for Defy is rolled out. I didn't download it and tried it yet. Did anyone ?

You can use Motorola Software Update to check if your phone is ready to update. French Froyo version is already out, German is coming soon, and waiting for CEE version.

In this case you have to wait for official Froyo for your region.
I just checked with MotoUpdtSoftware, there is no update for region : Motorola Europe Operators...

I'm guessing Motorola will release Android 2.2.2 update for the UK after they launched Atrix throughout the country. Currently Orange is the only carrier offering Atrix and others expecting it sometime in June.

There's nothing in Spain yet either... I did get a message a few weeks ago (13th May) saying the "people" application will stop being available on my phone in 30 days and to not lose my contacts follow the instructions that arrive to the same app (translated roughly from Spanish...)
What I think that means is the update will roll out on/around 13th June.
There also seems to be some hinting on the Motorola Europe Facebook page that 2.3 will rollout for the Defy (and other devices) before the end of the year with unlocked bootloader (depending on the operator acceptance)

Well, as it says in post in my quote ,its directly from our provider VIP -out of box 2.2.2 (and we can get this in my country just by sending the phone to the repair service,technicians will upgrade it for free ) . I dont have sbf because i dont know how to extract it from the phone . Someone should show me the thread/guide for that.
P.S. And you cant get this update by the OTA update!
