[Q] What is the best ICS? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I really need WIFI tether so I am going back to ICS. WHat is your favorite ICS and why???? I am on Frosty now, and I like it alot.

I just returned from FrostyJB4.1.1-V3 to Gigajoule because of the speed, battery, ability to use WIFI Tether and connect with my MAC. There are some minors things that I don't like though. For one, it's not stock, it's AOSP. Secondly, some tweak likes the Center Clock and some annoying linda voice (sometime it's not cute any more, she's old. :lol

I have tried most ICS roms in the dev section and have found them all to be pretty rock solid. It really comes down to features and personal preference. Maybe flashing roms left and right is not your thing but the best way to find out is to make a nandroid, try a new rom, and see which one you really like.
That being said, both FrostyICS and Xquizit have my vote, but thats just my personal preference. Both are stable and have great batt life.

I am very impressed with the battery life on gigajoule coming from li8

I think the Gigajoule OP states that its a modified version of stock UVALH2, not AOSP.

Maybe, but I saw AOSP at the initial start up. Unless those running script is just an animation. At the same time, the toggle setting on the pulldown menu does not really looks like stock to me.

When people say stock they're usually referring to touchwiz. Any modifications is not considered aosp, main focal is uhhh ROM base (tw/aosp)

You could always change them by replacing the /system/media/audio/ui for whatever sounds you want (probably charger_connection.ogg and unlock/lock)

[Q] Dell Streak Stage UI

Anybody porting it to the Incredible? Perhaps IncDoes?
He already did, just have to look past xda. Check his twitter it has a link.

The Dell Streak is receiving its Android 2.2 update sometime soon. The UI is called Stage. It looks similar to Sense IMHO. Check Engadget, there is a post about it. Someone has already ported it to the EVO.
Mehhh....Dell's Stage UI is okay. Nothing special. I flashed it on the inc but think sense especially the new sense in the z port is significantly better and much more refined.

I would definitely agree. I love the new sense. I was running that up until recently. I could be mistaken, but didn't ID say that in the coming release, the camera would be fixed? I think I saw something about it on his Twitter. Not sure. That is the only thing keeping me away full-time. Went back to SkyRaider for the time being. Missed my cam too much. haha.

For ICS ROMs, is there a way to get the AOSP dialer working if it came with TouchWiz?

I'm running Darkside Evolution 2.
I'm really not digging the Touchwiz Dialer, which inexplicably leaves off the contacts tab.
Is there a way to replace the dialer with AOSP, or is this one of those things that pretty much needs to be baked into the ROM?

It's possible. There was a zip somewhere that was posted on the Skyrocket forum. I can't find it, so I decided to upload it. Not taking credit for it, just can't remember where it came from: AOSP Patch.zip
Edit: Was having problems before, but reflashed from scratch, now all is well.
Just as a warning, if you flash the zip above, you well also be theeming your market and contracts etc. Also it's a darker version of the dialer without the blue accents.

[MOD] Remove the annoying ongoing WiFi Connected notification

Another I'm not sure why in the hell AT&T or Samsung did this. Its pretty annoying, I'm pretty sure we know that we are wifi, and you guys do not need inform us the ENTIRE TIME...anyway...
Flash in recovery. I have tried to test every aspect of the Settings since decompiling to make sure there are no FC's so If you encounter any please let me know.
This should work with or without being de-odedex. However please delete the "SecSettings.odex" file in /system/app after flashing.

On the stock ROM it didn't work until I deleted the secsecurity.odex file. Works like a charm now - thanks so much for solving one of the most irritating minor annoyances on this phone!

QuickPulldown on Sense?

There's an option on most AOSP roms i've used where pulling down on the status bar from the left or right directly opens the quick settings (pulling down normally reveals notifications). i've seen the setting called "Quick Pulldown" in most custom ROMs
Is there a way to get this functionality (xmod etc.) in Sense based roms?
EDIT: here's an xposed mod i found that adds this behavior

I was messing with Sense Toolbox, and even some of those Mods made Bonestock start jittering up a bit. I clean installed and decided that I'm not going to keep noodling around for no reason. Sense 5 as tweaked by Andy is perfect.

yeah exactly. instead of all-in-one packs i've been trying to install specific xmods for the few features i want/am missing.
I like Andy's flashable zips to add things on. All I really needed extra was the long press back to kill. I can't stand idling programs even if Android's memory management and battery efficiency has improved.
