[Q] any magic or non magic way of removing minor screen scratches? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Title pretty much explains it. I have a few minor scratches from putting the phone in and out of my pocket. I know people say use a screen cover but this phone is beautiful naked. I'll try and get a picture of what I'm dealing with.

Short of replacing the display I think you're stuck with those. The only two methods I know of for refinishing glass are not friendly to electronics. Takes a really strong acid or wet sanding.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen some products on the Internet for these kinds of things but wasn't sure if they really work. I'm usually pretty ocd about stuff like this but I knew it would eventually happen with out using a cover. So I guess I'll deal unless someone else has some advice.

I know it's not the answer you are looking for, but XO claims their screen protector covers/hides the scratches. I'm not a big fan of screen protectors either, but I couldn't deal with the scratches...

I know there are product for this kind of thing. Some fluids to apply or whatever it is but I have no idea if it works or not. Guess it doesn't hurt trying if it's not too expensive.

Get yourself a soft case and cover up her flaws. You should check ebay. When I cracked the screen on my evo (I realize you didn't crack your screen) they had all the parts I needed, including the screen for $25

Guide to changing the faceplate

Hey guys I need to replace my face plate (see picture) and was looking for a guide on how to do it. All the ones that I found are for changing the whole screen, or is it more or less the same thing as doing that? Thanks

You are going to have a super tough time doing this (I'm not even sure if it is possible). The display is physically bonded to the faceplate.

Well that sucks.. can anyone else confirm this?
That's how it was on the SGS2, so it wouldn't surprise me.
For the first time ever, I cracked my phones screen. Sucks it was my damn SGS3. I need to replace mine.

That sucks man, I just got some paint peeling off at the bottom of mine, bothering the hell out of me. Would hate to spend 200$ just to fix that.
Yes the screen is glued to faceplate which is glued to the digitizer, this is my understanding at least. Good luck Bro.

Yeah it's a pain. I'd rather use insurance to fix this one. It's the same price and I get a brand new phone.

Tempered Glass screen protectors?

Has anyone tried one of these screen protectors? I've already cracked my glass once, and I'm not about to crack it again after replacing it.

Have a friend that has that for their S4, looks pretty nice and does its job. Moshi also sells something similar that's a few bucks less.

I've had one on my phone for a few weeks and for the most part am smitten with it. I can't imagine not having it on my phone. I do feel the need to point out a couple of shortcomings though.
1. I get a rainbow effect in the center of the screen but rarely notice it unless I'm looking for it but I really wish it wasn't there.
2. There are little dots on the bottom of the glass, I am almost completely oblivious to them but some people can't stand them so I thought I should mention them.
If/when something happens to this protector I'll surely purchase another.

Perfect case for me!

I bought a case from eBay and want to make everybody aware of it. I'm always buying cases and this is my favourite by far!
Has a very nice feel to it, perfect fit, very strong material and looks great.
It came from Hong Kong so took about 2 weeks to come to me in Northern Ireland bit it was well worth the wait.

Is that the soft jacket xpose case? Capdase makes decent cases, I've owned their cases for my iPod and iPhone and look great too is it hard enough to scratch the corners while taking off and putting back on?
Looks really similar to the cruzerlite cases.

I'm sure this case looks and feels great, but I seriously would not want to drop my phone while using that.
I don't worry about dropping it, never dropped a phone before.
I have it on and off on a daily basis and no scratches at all or else I wouldn't use it.

Looks ugly imo. Sorry case manufacturers, I don't want to see your name from your $10 case on my $450 phone.
the last picture is very bad photoshopped!

Anyone tried the Seidio Convert case?

Planning on getting a nexus 5 in a few weeks and wanted to know if anyone had tried this case, and what you thought of it. Couldn't find a YouTube review even, but It looks nice.

I've been using it for a few days now and I'm still not sure if I'll keep it. It is a great case just a wee bit more bulky than anticipated. But I suppose I should have expected it to be since I recently jumped from an iPhone to a real phone.

Actually I have this case and love it very much , I add on the extra protection when going out and love that it also protects my camera lense .

How easy can you get the cover off the camera? I saw somewhere it was kind of difficult?
