[Q] One-handed use in real life - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have read many reviews on the Note 2 and most say it can’t be easily used with one hand, although there are few that say it can. These reviews do not go into any detail about what kind of activities you can do one handed and which require two hands. For instance; can you scroll through email messages and open them to read with just one hand, but perhaps not easily type a reply? I do understand the size of your hands has a great deal to do with this.
My current phone is an HTC One X, prior to that an iphone 4S, and before that a BB Bold. Moving up in size to the One X prevented me from doing some of the one handed activities I did with my previous 2 phones, but there are many things I still do one handed with the One X. Launch apps, read messages, browse the web, scroll screens, check notifications, etc. The main thing I find myself needing two hands for is typing. I can still send out a very short message one handed, but it’s slow and I usually make a mistake or two. I should point out that I have relatively small hands and a lot of the time I’m using the HTC one handed I have it resting in my palm and I’ll maneuver it up or down slightly to reach the function I want. I know this could cause me to drop the phone, but I haven’t yet and I’m willing to risk it. I’m wondering if the increased size of the Note 2 would eliminate most of the one handed use I currently enjoy on the HTC One X
So, my question is, for those of you that have the Note 2 can you share what some of your experiences have been using it one handed. What kind of activities and functions can you perform on the Note 2 with one hand, what kind of tasks always require two hands?
It’s tough for me to believe you must have two hands on the phone at all times; as some of the reviews have suggested.

I reckon it'll still be the same as the HOX but a bit more fumbling it around. I've played extensively with the original note as my cousin has one and wasn't too much of an issue.
With typing I can use Swiftkey perfectly one handed with my HOX although Swype is useful for one handed operation.
Like you I tend to jiggle the HOX around now and then. With the Note 2 being less wide it shouldn't pose too many problems compared to the original.

Was tje first tjing i notice when i got my note2, on note1 i sometimes had litle hard witj "A" with my thumb and one hand. But one note2 it feels mutch more easy write all letters on the keyboard..
And i like use my devices witj one hand most of tge time, i dont text like many with 2 hands.

Well, I imagine that it really depends on how large your hands are. Certainly someone with smaller mits would have a harder time handling the device with one hand than an individual with lager ones. I'd suggest try and get your own hands on one and try it out for yourself, because second hand advice doesn't help too much since hand sizes differ from person to person.

No way note 2 can be use with one hand. For typing one need two hands and so was on my S3 and 4S before so nothing much has changed. One hand use is just a myth. Gone are the days of one handed use. Smart phones are no longer for one handed use. Even iPhone has back button located on top left corner and with one handed use thumb can not reach there comfortable. It is just a myth now and there is no real one handed use on most new smart phones.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium

Actually, one-handed use is not a myth.
On the GN2, Samsung added an option in the settings called One-Handed operation. You can have the phone setup to have the keyboard or dial pad on the left or right side of the screen.
Plus, the back button on the iPhone isn't the only way to get out of the program. There's a home button for that too right? And most people can use one hand on the phone to operate it. I've used the Gnexus, Xperia Arc S, Nexus S as well as the EVO 4G with one hand no problem and I have small asian hands
I've attached a screen shot...

It seems quite silly to suggest that using a cell phone one handed is a myth. In my original post I asked specifically what kinds of things you could use the Note 2 for with only one hand. It’s clear you can’t do everything one handed, but certainly you can do some things. For instance, you would be able to pick the phone up and unlock it with one hand, right?

Oh yes you can pick it up and unlock it with one hand, no problem. I have small girly hands though and I really don't handle my Note II onehanded like at all. Mostly because it feels very unstable for me to handle it onehanded, I'm afraid I'll drop it.
I'd say if onehanded use IS important to you, you should look at some other phone, that's my view.
For example, I find it mighty cumbersome to pull down the notification bar and then slide it back up using one hand. I CAN do it, it's a matter of sliding the whole device up and down in my hand, but it certainly feels unsafe and wobbly.
Actually I am sure I will drop this phone at some point, and usually I don't drop my phones ever. With the Note II I really feel it's inevitable.

I just got the note 2 and I still have my one x.
I can do most of my navigating one handed. I can type one handed but for safety I use two hands.
It doesnt feel like too big of a difference to the hox, but if you foubd the one x to be a bit big in the hand, you may not be able to do a lot one handed on note 2.
But honestly, battery life alone is a reason to upgrade. Plus I love usong the s pen lol

I found it the same as you did it's not that much bigger compared to the HOX when I had a play with it.
As you have both how do you find the Gn2 screen compared to the HOX? For example on websites, general brightness and sharpness of text. I know how AMOLED displays are but generally speaking.

The HOX screen is crisper and brighter, but the gn2 screen does really well for an amoled. I find that the difference is only really noticeable when you zoom in on text in the browser for example.
The screen brightness is pretty good on the gn2, havent had any issues so far but I will see today now that the sun is out. Yesterday was a bit cloudy so I couldnt test outdoor screen visibility.

Oh bull..ive use ever phone ive owned one handed...but then again ive only got one hand...really your talking if you can hold in one hand and drive/type with same hand thumb..that is dictated by hand size vs phone size ....nothing more..

I could use my old note and a friend's "Galaxy Note 2" one-handed, but it never felt secure.

....so umm, what's your hand doing?

I drive and txt on my note 2 with one hand! With ease, Then again I don't have girl hands lol
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2

I can pretty much do everything with the gn2 one handed except type. But svoice and google voice typing seem to be pretty accurate in recognizing my words so I techically dont have to use my fingers to type. Just hit the send key. Fyi I posted this using google voice typing.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2

I don't have particularly big hands. But, I can manage to use the GN2 with one hand on majority of my day-to-day usage of the phone but with some modified gestures, eg. swipe down to bring the notification bar, double-tap to bring apps drawer, and with the already built-in Öne handed Operation mode typying is made easier with the Samsung 'swype-like' keyboard.
But as some of the other posters pointed out already, it really depends on the size of your hand.

First time I saw a 60 year old guy with the Note 2 on the tube today he was using the stylus to play solitaire didn't look that big at all. Usually you'd see the size and be shocked I was quite in awe actually. Looked really good!
I'm comfortable using the HOX one handed, hmm tempted to order off Amazon and give it a test run.

Size too big?

Like many of you here ive been drooling over the GN since day one but the biggest phone ive had is my current one-the tmobile g2.. considering that this is the biggest phone out there, apart from the mini tablets like the note, are you guys really fine with having such a huge device in your hands day in day out? (no TWSS implied). sure i can see it being perfect for media but as an everyday device? would like some specific input, preferably from GN owners. thanks
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Check out the comparison shots and reviews. The phone's footprint is not much bigger than most 4.3" phones out there. Its very thin and the bezel is very small.
i was slightly worried .... i dont have big hands....
. But the size is fine !
Couldnt handle much bigger tho
I came from an HD2 which is heavier but the same width and about 10mm shorter. Nexus feels perfectly fine in the hand, its 30g lighter than my HD2 so its much more comfortable to hold for longder periods and its also easier to use as the grip feels secure when using 1 handed. Dont be worried its a great phone and a fantastic screen.
Mark.
Thanks guys.
I also had the same concerns like spovat, because I also have small hands but still could manage a Desire HD.
You can see for yourself at: www.phone-size.com
To be honest i think i just hold it differently to my desire and my average thumb stretches across just fine
I don't have a problem with the size, I find it very comfortable to hold, type and call with.
Though it does make my Blackberry torch seem like a toy now
i find that its just about fit my hands (i came from nexus one -> nexus S -> G Nexus).
i can still operate with one hands with no problem, however, the phone seems to be sitting/lying on my fingers most of the time instead of my fingers grabbing it.
what i am trying to say here is, when i operate it, if someone accidently bump (lighly) into me, the phone is highly chance to drop out of my hands. but i do like the size...

In addition to using a phone size visualizer, do a search on flickr for the Galaxy Nexus. I found pics of the G2 sitting next to the Galaxy Nexus as a size comparison. Also, since the G2 is similar in size to the iPhone, you can use that as a visual as well. The G2 however is very thick, the Nexus will be much thinner for you.

[Q] How much time does it take to get used to sucj size and weight?

I've been using Galaxy Nexus for 1 year and really loved its size and weight wich is just perfect for me. But I was dissappointed with the battery life and performance, so I read a lot of articles and bought Note II 1 week ago. First two days I really enjoyed it but now I feel that my right arm hurts because of many tries of using Note II with one hand. So disappointed with that Even now thinking about getting Nexus 4 or Ativ S, their size and weight are much better....

Maybe you should change phones. If your arm is hurting due to the size and weight then you won't last.
Especially seeing as the note 2 is by no means a heavy phone. I don't think the note 2 is designed to be used one handed (I can, but I have large-ish hands).
I adapted to the size straight away with no issues

I had the same issue when I bought HTC Desire HD 2 years ago. It felt heavy for me, so my arm started hurting. Probably there is something wrong with my arm becasue of years of playing court tennis so it hurts because of heavy phones...

Sounds like it because I just asked my brother who is an exercise physiologist and he says that the weight of a phone shouldnt cause pain in the arm. Most likely an underlying problem. Is it in both arms or one in particular?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
If you try to reach across the whole screen with your thumb one handed, of course there could be some muscle strain unless you have giant hands.
I found that I put shortcuts I need one handed on the right side of the screen and lock screen, so I can make calls and simple tasks this way, and write messages with the one handed Samsung keyboard if I need to.
That said, I got used to the size the second day, seriously, my wife's galaxy s2 seems so incredibly tiny now!

It might also happen not because of the weight but because the screen is wide. I don't have such problem with the left hand holding it for a long time. By the way, I have arms much bigger than average, so it is quite possible for me to use Note II with one hand but the result is the hurt :crying:
So probably the injury from the past causes the problem and wide phone phones are not for me

Converting from smaller phones?

Hey all! So basically, I have a HTC incredible s at the moment and i really want to get the note 2 once I'm out of contract in a couple months. How did you guys with phones of about 4-4.3 inches go when you got the monstrous 5.5? Thanks

I went from an X10 to a One X for a little bit then to the Note 2 and it was the best choice I ever made lol.
The size feels odd for about a day, but after that it feels perfect. Makes you wonder how you lived with a small(er) screened phone for so long
Same here, I went from a Desire HD to Note 2 and whilst it did feel odd for a few days, I'm totally used to it now and it just seems normal.
I did try one out in a shop first though, as I really was dubious at first.
Thanks for the helpful comments guys!

Honestly I am not so positive about the size as other posters above.
I switched from a Galaxy S3 and even after 2 weeks I still have some problems with the size (and I doubt I will ever solve them).
Of course when using the N2 for any activity other than a phone, the size is much better and if sometime I look at the S3 screen (I gave it to my wife now) it feels so small.
My main problems are:
1) when holding it with one hand during phone calls > 5 mins, I start to feel uncomfortable on my hand. And the longer the call, the bigger the discomfort.
Of course this depends simply on the size of you hands (or if you use a headset mostly)... mine are average at least.
2) when holding the phone with one hand while standing on the bus/train/etc... almost impossible to use it with just one hand unless you set up your home screen with your most used apps near the area your thumb can reach.
Also if I try to reach further with my finger it increases the chance to let it fall down as the grip is unstable.
3) most of my trousers side pockets can barely fit it, but still need to pay attention how I move if I try to step up on something high. (of course depends mostly on what kind of trousers you usually wear)
So in the end nothing really terrible but still a bit bothering me.
Went from desire z to this and wouldn't go back. Need two hands for some things (though not for writing this) but still loving it.

Most reviews I read online said that you wouldn't be able to use the phone with one hand but I can easily type with one hand and do everything one handed as easy as I could with my one x. Makes me think I've got very big hands or they've just got small hands?

I would recommend getting a case with a good grip pattern for your hand strains while in calls. Made the phone feel lighter and actually smaller to me, when I got a light tpu case with incredible skin friction.
Regarding 2, for me it's just practice, didn't think I'd get this good at handling the phone one handed with my relatively small hands. I can't write one handed very effectively since I use SwiftKey, but if it's important it's easy to set up one handed usage in the options with stock keyboard. Again, a case with good grip helps.

I'm delighted of it's size and possibilities but as people before me said the size has it's prize. It's not really comfortable to carry it in your pocket ( especially if you're not a huge person). I'm jogging with endomondo only with my sgs+, I even don't take it to the partys because its really easy to damage such a big thing in you pocket. Besides that the phone is super fast and confortable to use in your home for internet/games/movies. It's a real monstet but not really mobile

Trading Note II for HTC One?

as the title says, anyone with a Note II thinking about ditching it for a One? don't get me wrong, i love my N2, but it's something about it that i don't like. maybe its the size, and coming from a G2, the plastic annoys me also. I'm just not sure if I want to give up the screen real estate, and the powerful battery.
On the other hand, the one is GORGEOUS, the camera is better, and i dont mind giving up the LED display for a 468(?)ppi display. Plus, i prefer Sense over any other version of android. its much more polished.
any thoughts?
Think you answered your own question here really. It's simply a better quality device. Win factor!

I just sold my Sprint Note 2 for $550, with the HTC One in mind. I figured I'll sell now while the phone could feach a pretty penny.
I too love the N2 but its size does somewhat get annoying. I figured I could try the HTC One and if I don't like it I could resell that and by then the GS4 will be announced.
Its basically a never ending cycle of phone for me.

I'll be selling mine as well. I'm not a huge HTC or Sense fan, but this phone is too sexy to pass up.
I'm thinking about it. I am expecting the screen on the One to be the best you can find on the market judging by the HTC One X's Super LCD 2 is the best that I have used so far. So I am likely to switch over, the only thing that's making it difficult is a great battery and I actually enjoy the screen size.
The Note 2 I had already went to my dad A long time ago. I still use my old DHD
Why? I just hate the plastic feel.
The WORST part of the Note 2 was that it would take 2 seconds to turn on the screen... I couldn't stand it after 2 weeks and gave it to him.
Why do Samsung devices take so long to wake? It is for that reason I am hesitant to buy the GS4.
There are only two reasons anyone should consider the N2 in the first place:
- They are heavy productivity users and get a lot of use out of S Pen, S Note, multiview, airview, etc.
- They want the 5.5" display to try and have a single device double as a phone and a tablet.
Since OP didn't mention either of those two things he probably should have gotten a high-end smartphone and not have had to deal with the N2's enormous size. The N2 was never meant to compete with the likes of the SGS3, One X, and Optimus G and neither the One nor SGS4 will have the productivity features of the N2 so they aren't real competitors either. A lot of people bought the N2 only because it was "shiny and new" rather than for what it could do. They are the ones that create threads like this. So, OP, get the One as it’s probably a lot more suited to your needs than the N2 ever would be.
As for "plastic." Samsung's devices are as well built and durable as HTC's. To allow for the removable battery a lot of people still consider important they have paper thin plastic back covers that peel off to allow access to the battery. It's a design choice to accommodate function. The design's been that way since the SGS2 came out. With ten times more SGS3's sold than One X's (an admittedly more handsome device) the public would seem to be OK with it. And the N2's internals are made of magnesium (item 3 below) which is an expensive (but light) alloy to work with.

yeah, i didn't get it for the TW features. after a few weeks i put paranoid on it. but i did get it to double as a phone and tablet. if i do get the one, i'll have to get used to a normal sized phone not running phablet mode. but i didn't get it because it's "shiny and new". like i said , i needed something that doubles as a phone and tablet. but on a day to day thing, it gets uncomfortable sometimes.
but samsung devices are not as durable as most HTC phones, plastic just can't stand up to metal/aluminum. imo, the galaxy s iii outsold the one x because it was on 5 different carriers (and of course samsungs amazing marketing). the one x being exclusively on AT&T is the reason i didn't get it. & it doesn't too much matter what the inside of your phone is made of when you drop it and the cheap material on the outside can't protect the phone from damage.

Based on what? There were as many One X/L/+'s with displays cracked from drops as there were SGS3's and N2's. HTC had tons of issues with the Teg3 One X including public acknowledgment that the design caused Wi-Fi issues on some devices because of tolerances not met in the production process. And most of HTC's recent phones have been plastic too. Here's what happens to the matte finish on the One X(s) and DNA/Butterfly when exposed to any kind of abrasion. So I totally get that people like HTC's designs better (I do too) but that doesn't make them more durable.
And here's what happens to aluminum-backed devices with wear.

HTC took the best deal they could get. I'm sure if VZW and T-Mobile (Sprint did sort of) wanted to sell the One X they wouldn't have ended up in an AT&T exclusive. The One X was a beautiful device with a fantastic display cursed with an undersized battery and laughable storage on the XL and adequate storage on the One X. HTC's 2012 with the One's was their worst in history in terms of revenue, margin, and market share and that takes in to account worldwide sales not just what happened here in the U.S. I'm sure that wasn't what they were planning on when the One's were in R&D. Any how or why Samsung outsells them is less important than the fact HTC will be out of business soon if they don't come up with a formula to drastically improve sales. Let’s hope the One is a step in that direction.

A uni-body design (One X/One) can't distribute impact as well as a modular design. You'll see the battery cover fly off a Samsung device in most drop tests. That's a by-product of the energy of the impact being dissapated. Here's a N2 that survived a drop from 5'.
And here's a Samsung device being torture tested.
I was a very happy Teg3 One X owner and wouldn't hesitate to buy another HTC device if it met my needs. I'm using an N2 now and happy with it too but that doesn't mean I've suddenly become a Samsung fan-boy. Every device and the manufacturers that build them have strengths and weaknesses and it's not blasphemy to talk about them.

yay welcome, really liked the stock slim rom that you made for the note 2!
Well, I just bought myself a Note 2 and love it wouldn't ditch it for a htc one!
hmmm... now I looked at the pictures from the camera... damn
I must say they are pretty different!
Note 2 is a 5.5'' while One is 4.7'' so it's a big difference in screen size
Note 2 is all plastic a la samsung meaning c.r.a.p. while the One is premium aluminum body
So if you don't like huge screen smartphones but prefer a 1080p delicious screen with Terminator build phone switch the damn phone
Seeing that this phone was not intended to go up against htc one, it sure is holding it own. Most post I reading only problem with the note is the material it made from. I say isn't this the reason we have insurance and for all those that are prone to dropping their phone..get a good case. Why do I need a phone that is waterproof? How many times are you going to drop it into the toilet? I got my note because I want phone and tablet and the note has lived up to that. I like the spec's of the one and if I was to cross over it would be because I want a new toy. Not because of some lame excuse the phone is aluminum.

Driving a BMW 7 series with full option is the same as driving a kia picanto?
All the luxury and refined material make the BMW make you love to use it,the One is the same, just feel the aluminum body in your hand and the playschool samsung in the other and you will understand
I'm thinking about switching to the one it has great spec but not sure about the battery life. Note 2 has awesome battery life lasts.

Currently using note 2 as well. I am selling in the coming days. That $$$ will go to my htc one.
I love the size of the note 2. I've always been partial to htc. I've had the opportunity to play with them side by side and I will have to adjust to a smaller screen. Yes, 4.7 is quite small after using the note 2.

Like I said this argument would be valid if we were comparing to same things. I would argue about beats headphones vs Boise. I wouldn't argue a BMW (luxury car) vs an economy car. The consumer is buying for different reasons. BMW consumers has money and therefore it looks and feel pretty is okay. Economy consumers are on a budget therefore the question for them is can it get me from point a to point b.

Wow. I've been using HyperDroid ROMs on my Note2 and I'm very happy to see you here!
And to the topic: my feelings with Note2 are absolutely same as OP. I hate the plastic and I never use s-pen. Its going to be my first HTC Android phone (had Titan 'bout year ago).
I'm seriously considering it, as much as I love the note 2 it feels too big in my hands. The One has a beautiful design, great screen, high ppi and those dual speakers are all things that attract me to it. But I'm waiting for the SGS4 reveal and user experience before making any decisions, I want to know how good the battery life is and if the gpu throttling is going to ruin the gaming experience on the device. If the phone holds up and the rumored specs of the SGS4 turns out to be true, I'm more than likely getting the One in black. But I will miss the expandable memory and amazing battery life of the Note though. Only time will tell

Note 2 size

I have been using note since the original note cane out and people start mocking it's size. And I had this issue since the note.. I am just wondering whether anyone else feels the same..
When you are watching a movie, playing a game, browsing the Web, or taking notes. Thank god for the more then palm size phone.
When you are on the train standing trying to balance and text or browse or even temple run, when you are taking a picture with one hand or trying to text or make a call while holding groceries or shopping stuff. God the big screen is so damn retarded and hard to manoeuvre.. Take note my palm is quite huge. To use the phone one handed it rest on my fingers for my thumb to reach the end of the screen where q is on the keyboard. And this is always frustrating as I feel as though the phone would drop if anyone bangs into me which happens alot in singapore..

Never had a problem with the Note 2 size. It really fits very good to me, I'm 6'2" and the phone feels really good to me, but when other people use it I realize how big it is in other peoples hands. Sometimes it makes me chuckle hahaha.
Use it for 2 hours. Each and every other phone would look extremely tiny to you.
As for the mobility never had a problem.

True story, for example, iPhone 4S and 5, they look so small for me, almost like a cereal box toy. I hardly think I can go back to phones with -5" screens.

I have small hands and the size is not an issue for me. I need to have a slim case on it to improve the grip but it's fine with that.

Like many others I do not think about it being large until I pick up my old SGSI or see it in a shop next to other phones. Regarding one handed use I think the problem is caused by pourly designed interfaces than the size of the phone. Developers imo are still stuck in the world of Windows and insist on putting most command icons at the top of the screen when they should all really be at the bottom. This is especially true now that the average phone is 5" It's even a chore to do a lot of browsing with two hands the way things look today. Compare browsing with many tabs on BoatBrowser, with customizable icons on the bottom, to Chrome where everthing is at the top. Tiring!!
One last rant. If you must use it with one hand. Get a good case. Phones are not cheap, nor is insurance.
If you need to type one handed I can warmly recommend "messagease" keyboard which makes writing with the thumb a breeze.
i get greif at work mostly all the time about its size ...BUT ive never had a bad call and when i watch video i can actually see it even if i want to have subtitles
the irony is i remember getting greif when i bought a t28 by erricsson cos it was so small ...times they are a changing!
as a side note ...when i have to borrow the handed down 4s that i gave the wife when i !upgraded! it seems so damn small and almost impossible to use now
There is two kinds of people..
1, people who have a Note 2
2, people who don't have a Note 2 but want a Note 2
Why do you care what other people think? The Galaxy Note 2 is by far, the best handset on the market for my needs. I don't need a tablet anymore, hell; I have a £1350 computer just collecting dust.
Movies, games, music, drawing, browsing the internet etc is significantly better with a larger screen.

I do not care what others think. I care how I can use my phone more efficiently. By efficient I mean using it without risk of dropping.
I'm outta here. You fan boys who just jumped the bandwagon are too much for me to handle.
Have a nice day

Wtf? Why ask for other people's opinions if you're just going to get angry when they disagree with you? Some people.

Are u serious? Fan boys? People are giving their opinions. And, by the way, ergonomics are great on Note 2. I'm 6'2'' and it fits me perfectly. Of course I owned a Note 1 before.

For my one year of using note 1 I have not seen someone with big enough hands to COMFORTABLY use the phone one handed on the train or even walking. Thus, I call you guys fan boys for claiming size of the phone is just nice.
Of course I live in singapore where the average height is 1. 7metres so there may well really be people who can comfortably use the phone in one hand without risk of dropping. But whenever I use mine one handed it would be quite taxing on the heart as it can easily drop, especially when using cases which are smooth to the touch.
I apologise for coming across as being angered but I assure you I am not.

I always thought it was ridiculously big for a phone but when the Note 1 became on sale and I needed a tablet anyway I thought wth I'll give it a try. Just of a couple of days with it and I can't imagine going back to anything smaller. I use MessagEase for one-handed texting btw. Now I have a Note 2 and it's great although sometimes I'm thinking of switching to an S3. Size has never been an issue for me but sometimes the weight is.
Coming from Dell streak 5, makes me not an early adaptor, I felt that the Note 2 was perfect for my hand, I had to skip the Note 1 bcs I found it not very comfortable in grip and did not look at it was a real upgrade. Note 2 was very different, I remember the first time I hold it and had the wow effect on me. As for the Note 3 I don't know if it will be a real upgrade compare to this device or not, hope they don't go crazy with this screen size wars, but if 3 will have the same size as 2 but with bigger screen and smaller bezel and no physical button I might go for it, as for 8 core, I don't really care much since for what I use the device even 4 core is overkill for me.
Oh I almost forgot, the only thing that might make me switch from Note 2 to 3 is , battery, if they manage to put a 6500 mA for the same thickness they got my money in advance.

After more than 1yr with note1, now after 5th day of use of n2 i must say it is not good for me. I hate the aspect ratio - screen is bad. N2 is fluid like water and i wish i could replace n2s motherboard into original n1 body.
I use tablet layout on n1 so swype notifications from bottom right corner is not a problem while holding one hand....ability to press back button while holding in left hand....
So i really need to find quick tablet ui for n2 and give it a try as first impressions from stock are negative - only to aspect ratio and too much over saturated screen. and feels blurry to me.

I much prefer the note 2 body. Slimmer more manoeuvrable although not by much. Tablet UI how about the famous hybrid rom? Cm10 though.
On note 1 the cm10 was much faster then the stock samsung skinned. However on the note 2 with jellybeans stock skinned.. Cm10 seemed slower to me.
On topic, do you guys who are comfortable with the size use the phone naked?

note1 naked....also looks like that right now...silver finish is worn out.
I have a slim cover for n2 and feels the same as n1 but higher. Without cover it is perfect but i am not sure if i am gonna keep n2. Maybe wait for s4, also xperia z in question only because of ip certification.
Also i feel uncomfortble not having the possibility view s notes from other sources like pc or something. This make spen for notes uselles and have to make notes on catch or evernote.
So spen nice feature but personally stopped using it much. So then s4 is smaller and 0,5 inches diff in screen not much.
