They dont have any device. Btw this is the reason why people choose non japanese games today. They never listen to costumers. First they destroy the FF franchising game by making ffxi, ffxii, ffxiii to be feministic, linear and boring games. Then they making a jrpg game that looks promising to work only on non rooted devices. Square what are you thinking?

Got it to work on my Galaxy Note. Found this in the apk, so figured you just need to hide your superuser app. Renamed "superuser.apk" in my /system/app folder, then I could start the game fine. Once done playing, I renamed superuser.apk.bak to superuser.apk and all is well.
Code:
String[] packagename = new String[] {
decode(activity, "55E3819E6925E350523567266666667627776777") , //eu.chainfire.supersu

So you renamed the superuser.apk file only or you have to insert/modify the code in the apk file?

Nope, no tinkering with the CR apk needed, just rename the superuser.apk in /system/app (well I suppose YMMV, but it worked for me). Got a script you can run with Script Manager to hide/unhide Superuser.apk in the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1932078

Holy macarony. It actually work, I uninstalled the game first, and then rename the superuser.apk to superuser.apk.bak and then install the game again. Working like a charm.

.adk source for AllShare app?

I have a Samsung TV (like many here) and curious to know if the AllShare app bundled in the new Samsung Galaxy S can be used on my HTC EVO. Does anyone know if AllShare is a separate app all together or is it tied into the custom ROM?
EDIT: Long day.. The title should read "apk source for AllShare app?"
Would be interesting to see this .apk ripped .... it is class !
AllShare is wicked-- I'm using it to stream videos and music from my NAS Server to my Galaxy S It has limited functionality though, you can only pause the video (no seek) or go to the next/previous item in your playlist. You also cannot set aspect ratio of the video (always play full screen 16:9).

I can confirm this working on A70S running Uruk 1.0 from internal memory. To help others, I used a terminal to gain root ($su), made a backup copy of the build.prop (#cp /system/build.prop /system/build.prop.bak), then copied the build.prop to / and changed the name to build.txt (#cp /system/build.prop /build.txt). Then I changed the permissions to make it writable (#chmod 666 /build.txt). Personally, I hate vi. So, I used astro file manager to open the build.txt file and edit it with the above changes. Then back in terminal copied the edited build.txt back to where it belongs (#cp /build.txt /system/build.prop) and restored the proper settings (#chmod 644 /system/build.prop) and then rebooted via holding down power and selecting reboot.
I only played with the streaming for a few minutes before work this morning. Seems decent. I am really looking forward to getting into it tonight. Thanks for the file changes!
UPDATE: I got a chance to compare the netflix app on my A70S compared to endgadget's walkthrough video on the Nexus S. The app runs, in my opinion, a little slow both loading the first time and in changing tabs or viewing information on a movie/show. But when I loaded my app while watching the Nexus S on the video load, they took about the same time. Same thing with everything else - very comparable times to switch between tabs or get information on a movie/show. As far as quality goes, I have not watched any video completely start to finish yet. But I have noticed some variance in quality. An episode from Season 2 of the Office looked a little pixelated but Austin Powers Goldmember looked nice. Both we very watchable though. The initial buffer took a few seconds longer than I would like but when skipping forward in the video, the video played rather quickly. Overall I am happy the app is out, and will use the crap out of it, but there is definitely some room for improvement.
Do we absolutely need root to edit the build.prop?
I know I can get the file to my PC to edit. I don't know if I need root to get it back...and I did the firmware update.

Sprint Direct Connect Now APK Released

Sprint made a formal announcement today about the new Sprint Direct Connect Now App in the android market which can be found here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qualcomm.qchat.dlc&feature=search_result
Anyone seen this APK floating around online? I would love to give this a whirl on my device and see if its possible to get it working on our devices.
I couldn't find anything but I will keep an eye on it and if I find it I will post it if someone didn't already.

Yeah ive been scouring google for anything pertaining to an updated apk but everything I found just links me to old threads and the play store link. We dont have a kyocera rise in stock so I cant pull it myself.
Ill try to go into a Sprint store and see if i can download and then extract the apk file. Hope it works on our android devices =). Doesn't make any sense for Sprint to release this app only to the Kyocera Rise. It's an android app, should be compatible with all android phones. Stupid Sprint! Been waiting for this for years!

Since its a downloadable app from the market you could easily pull the apk. No need for root. Ill grab it when I get back to work around 6. Or you could pull the build.prop and change your device fingerprint to the rise to download the apk. I tried searching for a system dump for the build.prop but came up dry.

hmm so this would be free for me. i have a sprint everything plan and under my account i see:
Unltd Nationwide Direct Connect
Unlimited Group Connect
funny how it's included, but a feature i can't use.. anyone have APK working yet? wonder if you would have to keep the app always running (battery killer) for people to PTT you? hope it's not like zello where you have to be logged in and app running 24/7 rather than some type of Push service.
Sorry I was unable to get the apk today. The sprint store did not have a working display of the Kyocera rise. I will try another store tomorrow.
Im very interestes in getting this working. Hopefully someone can provide this apk asap. Thank you in advance to whomever does.

From what I've seen / read it there is something extra on the Rise and the LG that has the App. Also the SOC is restricted to the two phones so even if you got the app to load it would have no UFMI (or w/e the SDC equilivant is) to tie into, or attempt to provision on it. Thus no Go I think if it worked on other phones, it would be out
Try downloading it with appbrain

If it is a Play Store installable then it may have APK go directly to Data/App which u cannot view directly from the device. If it goes to System/App u can always browser through System/App folder and actually copy ANYTHING from the System folder to another location on the device. Pasting and editing is what u cant do inside of the System folder but copying allowed.

Netflix + Chromecast on Fire Phone

Hey guys,
As other people already noticed, the Netflix app took away the possibility to stream to a Chromecast when being used on a Fire Phone (or also Fire Tablets I think), while in other apps (like YouTube) the Chromecast streaming still works. So I checked inside the Netflix app and found some code which looks similiar to this:
Code:
boolean isDisabledDevice() {
return Build.MANUFACTURER.toLowerCase().contains("amazon");
}
So the Netflix app actually checks specifically in the build.prop, if the manufacturer string contains "amazon". If you change this value to anything else (simply not containing Amazon), the Netflix app allows you to stream to a Chromecast .
I hope this can also help some people .
Great info!! Could you please share the file name and path so we can modify it?
Thanks!
I assume you mean on stock FireOS? I was able to stream Netflix no problem on Slimkat.

The entry of ro.product.manufacturer inside the build.prop (/system/) has to be changed to anything else than Amazon. A backup and special care is advised, since a broken build.prop file will stop your phone from booting.

I am on Stock, but as long as Slimkat also states Amazon inside the ro.product.manufacturer entry, it should also be affected (just my guess here ). Did you try it on the latest Netflix App version?

I thought that you edited the Netflix app rather than the build.prop. I already have the build.prop edited as a LG nexus 5 because of the Netflix-Chromecast issue on this phone. I would prefer to use the original build.prop and modify the Netflix add instead.

Hmm, yes, that would be possible, even without recompiling, just by editing a few right Bytecodes... But not quite sure if I can do that in the next time, got other stuff on my schedule as well.

I am curious - what file did you find the Amazon "check" in on the Netflix apk? I am going to try your apk tonight and I will let you know how it works.
I am afraid it was a no go. I removed the previous version of Netflix and installed your modified APK. Netflix fired up just fine, but sill won't pick up the chromecast. My other chromecast apps on the phone seem to still work fine
Exactly you need to change on /system/build.prop these line:
from:
ro.product.manufacturer=Amazon
to:
ro.product.manufacturer=Samsung
Cheers!
