ok so after a little scrolling through the thread i found that if you take the battery out the phone and plug it in the computer the red led on the phone comes on still no boot or recovery/download mode just seeing if that helps at all

Your completely bricked. U flashed bootloaders for a different device. A jig will not help. Do a search for mobiletechvideos and jtag. Sucks but it's your only solution. Unless u send it back to Samsung

Jtag is becoming more popular, on Craigslist I found a few people locally offering the service..
Might want to check to see if you have anybody locally that can do it.

I read some where usb jigs do NOT work with the Galaxy S3 like it did with the Epic Touch.Samsung change it somehow. I don't remember where I read it though. I have a jig and when I plug it in while the phone is off its supposed to automatically take you into download mode and it doesn't.

Let me guess. International rom, and pc sees it as QHSUSB_DLOAD? sound right? Jig Is totally worthless. It's a paperweight. Jtag is ur only hope.

Can you even power on your phone? How long have you had your phone? If you are within the 14 day period and you can't power on the phone, I'd recommend that you take it back to the sprint store and get them to replace it. If you can't power it on, then they most likely won't be able to either. If you're not within the 14 days then they'll be able to ship you a new phone under the 1 year warranty. I made the mistake of accidentally flashing a kernel for my ET4G on my S3. I couldn't power my phone on. Took it in to them, they couldn't power it on either and was able to get a replacement on the spot, no questions asked. I told them that I was I was in the middle of an update when the phone restarted and then I couldn't power it back on.
Only other thing you can to is ship it out and have someone JTAG the device for you. MobileTechVideos.com has been mentioned in other threads as a JTAG service.
Hope this helps.

I'm curious as to why you guys would flash i9300 ROMs? Its a totally different device than the i747. If you flashed an i9300 ROM your device is bricked and you either need to get a warranty replacement or send it in to someone who can JTag it.

That is a link on how to unbrick a phone from flashing international image. Try getting into download mode by powering the phone on by holding the volume down key, home key, then powering it on with the power button. If nothing shows on the screen but odin is able to recognize the phone then you should be fine.

HELP! Literally Bricked S3

I have a Canadian S3 From Virgin(same as bell), I'm posting this for my friend. she rooted it fine and everything but when she booted into recovery and installed the new rom and rebooted the phone and it doesn't turn back on, im sure she installed the wrong rom, but the i've searched the web 100 times and nothing because people are saying to boot into download mode and use odin. This phone doesn't boot into odin mode, does this mean that its ultra bricked?

google samsung usb jig, you can build or buy one. should get you into download mode, but I havent tried it on the gs3 yet used it a couple times with the captivate though. plug it in power it on and even if it doesnt show up on the screen check to see if odin sees it.

Can she get into download mode? If she can then it is fixable (for the most part) through ODIN. Sounds like she may have flashed an international S3 ROM. My girlfriend did that (hey, she's new to ROMs ) and we got her up and going again through ODIN.

HARD bricked SG3/t999

Out of my own carelessness I accidentally flashed a Galaxy Note Kernel on my SG3 and it is now bricked. I can not boot into download or recovery mode the only sign of life that I get is if I remove the Battary and plug to PC the charging light turns on for about 20 sec then cuts back off. I tried to go into Download mode during that time period and no luck. I can also hear my PC sounding off alerts trying to recognize the phone as I plug it and unplug it but It will not go into download mode no matter what I do.
I was running CM10.1
Kernel I flashed by accident is from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789397&nocache=1
ANY direction would be highly appreciated, thank you.

Hey, I flashed I9300 rom on my T999 and after it turned off, it never turned back on again. It won't turn on/ download mod/ recovery mode or vibrate. If I take the battery out and plug it in the PC, it LED turns red for a short period of time only. I did a little research and it was no help. Will a usb jig work? Mine is Tmobile version 2 years contract and I got it in Dec 2012, is it still covered?
UPDATE: I saw one on ebay for half price, which is $30, is it reliable? Have anyone here used the service on ebay?

Hello,
last night i ran into this same problem with my sgh-t999. The phone will power up to the Samsung Galaxy s3 screen. I can also get into download mode and cwm. I am hoping this means that phone has been soft bricked.
As far as why my phone did this...I booted into cwm and i did a restore through the menu options. I'm not sure if i hit the wrong one, or what exactly happened at this point. Whatever it was loaded and i was unable to get past the gs3 screen.
I tried loading that .Tar file from the link provided by "Theexcel". However, in the tutorial, it says to make sure that the flash counter is set back at zero. How can i do this when my phone won't power on. I am not aware of how to reset the counter without getting an app from Playstore.
As you can see, i am new to the forum. I posted here because this seems to be a similar topic. Please let me know if you have any ideas. I tried to address what i think my be wrong with the phone and some of the steps i have done to try and repair it already. I will gladly provide answers to more specific questions.

Following these instructions below will get you back to a stock rooted phone which works perfectly.
The very best advise is to do the following, doing anything else will most likely prolong
the problems you are having or making them even more difficult to resolve.
First thing you need to do is to install the stock Tmobile T999 rooted firmware.
Here are the exact step by step instructions with the download link for the firmware.
After you have followed these instructions your phone will be working properly and if
you like you will be able to flash any custom roms made for the Tmobile T999 phone
or restore any backups unless the the backup is corrupted in some way or another.
Here is the link to the Tmobile Stock & Rooted firmware you need:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390169635556426451
After downloading it make a folder on your desktop and unzip the file
using Winzip or 7zip so the .TAR file is in the new folder you just made.
Here is a link for ODIN which is required for flashing the stock rooted firmware
(a windows app) http://d-h.st/Q14
Download and extract Odin into the same folder you made containing the TAR file.
Here is a step by step guide for you.
Download the firmware of your choosing (use the root66 version if you want root)
Run Odin by double clicking the Odin.exe within the folder you extracted
Turn off your phone and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE (Volume Down + Home + Power Hold until phone powers up, then release and press Volume Up to enter Download Mode)
Once in Download Mode, connect the USB/Charger cable to the phone and plug into the USB port on your computer.
You should now see a COM** port listed toward the top-left of Odin (under ID:COM)
Click on the PDA button in the middle-right area of Odin.
Browse to and select the FW you downloaded (TAR file)
Make sure Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options checked and that PDA is the only other thing checked.
TRIPLE CHECK your settings and that you have selected the correct firmware for your model phone and are using the correct options.
If you are using a laptop, make absolutely sure you are plugged in, or if on battery, that it is charged enough and will not go into sleep mode during flash.
Click Start to begin the flash. This will take a while, so be patient!
Once complete, in the top-left box in Odin, it will say PASS and the phone should have automatically rebooted.
You may unplug the phone and close Odin if you wish.
Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the system to boot the first time and then build its cache! (It may seem to hang during boot, this is normal and you must be patient!!!)
Good Luck!

If I send my phone in, will it cause any problems if I remove my sim card to use in another phone? I need my phone for work. Does anybody see this cause potential problems?

No actually, when you send it in they ask you to only send in your bare phone, no battery, sim/sd card just the phone itself. So yeah you can switch out to another phone while waiting.
Try searching craigslist for JTAG repair.
My buddy found a local repair shop for $60. He picked it up the next day.
A USB jig will get your phone into download mode if soft bricked and costs $3.
