On my non-rooted S3 I have both Chrome and the stock browser still installed. The only reason I still use the stock browser is because flash doesn't work in Chrome.
Is there any way to get Flash working with the Chrome Browser?

Here is the apk for the latest flash player v20

does having the flash player app on our phone does it make it vulnerable to viruses?
im trying to figure out if i need an anti-virus but ive read its unecessary
also does it run in the background processes?
lastly, does it work for all browsers?
(sorry to thread jack)

3) unless you're running JB in which case it only works with stock or aosp browser

My flash player is version 11.1. If I download the latest, can I install on a non-rooted S3?

Chrome doesn't and will never support flash, so it won't work with Chrome. Others should be good to go.

Hmm I just tried to install the 11.1 apk and the install button was disabled

Adobe Flash, works just fine on JB (TW and AOSP), its just not in the Market to download, but it can be installed if you have the APK. It will not work on Chrome, but it does work on any other browser including stock and firefox.

Same issue here. ATT stock rooted with CWM. I used the no tripping flash counter root with stock_root67.zip file if it matters. I can toggle and change settings but they have no effect. I've already changed the settings to Awesome Beats under sound.

Thanx, it worked - I also read PowerAmp can also cause this ( Settings > Audio > Adv Tweak > Disable Direct Vol ) > although it didnt make a difference it mine, basically it needs Google Music Play
EDIT: So noticed the following
1) Works with Google Play Music > Speaker and Headset
2) Bluetooth setting doesnt work however the Speaker side controls the Bluetooth headset amplification
3) Doesn't work for Online Radio ( Tune in )

Try this, this works for Galaxy Note and it also works on SGS3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749434

Flash Player APK (UPDATED)

Adobe has stopped allowing downloads for Flash Player on all devices running Jelly Bean, including the Nexus 7. This APK has been tested and works great on the Nexus 7 so far with 4.2.1.
APK File: install_flash_player_ics (1).apk - 4.49 MB
Awesome. Thanks.

couple questions...
1. so will this allow flash to be used on chrome?
1a. if it doesnt work with chrome, what's the benefit of a standalone apk versus getting a browser that can use flash?
2. do you have to be rooted for this to work?
thanks!

1. No, chrome does not support flash.
2. You need the flash apk to be able to use flash in a browser that supports flash I.e. dolphin browser
3. No, you do not. Just make sure you go to setting, security, and click the unknown sources check box before you try to install the app.

Theres no default file browser installed so get something like Astro:
These are the instructions I followed, can't remember if I used the APK linked on that site or not, so to be safe use the one linked above.
PS : This five minute spam rule is annoying. (but can see why its here).
i installed the flash apk but when i try to view a flash movie it crashes the browser (opera mini, maxthon, and dolphin hd)
thanks works awesome on my nexus 7 and on my galaxy nexus

Thanks for the apk. You can download it straight to your tablet if it was not gziped and just install it with a file manager... On another note, I didn't really see the point of putting it back on my tablet after downloading it to my PC since I already had the sdk installed.
Code:
adb install -r com.adobe.flashplayer-3f0d57a34bf0204acb2f9b310aa37ac7.apk
did the trick and installed it just fine for me..
Worked like it should!

Thanks, OP!
Now if we could get a working AOSP Browser for the N7 because I'm not too fond of Dolphin and the other 3rd party browsers.
Cheers,
Kermee
If you are using Dolphin as a Flash solution Do Not update to 8.6 which just came out. It completely removes the ability to use Flash for Jelly Bean even if you have it side loaded. It gives a message that they will no longer be supporting it for Android 4.1+

I'll be beyond disappointed if this sticks. I hate Apple and really loved working from my phones. Android isdominating the market and Apple does this? Wow
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Apple has been pressuring everyone to ditch flash for years. From what ive heard Jobs HATED Adobe which is why no apple product ever supported flash. If its not Apple tech or built specifically for and around apple, this is what they would do. Iphones dominance early on is what helped them succeed in killing flash.
If apple doesn't like something they will go to extremes to destroy it. They have to protect their one good idea per decade somehow I suppose!

[APP] Flashplayer for JB

Attached is the flashplayer.apk that works on JB...should be able to install with apk manager...if that doesn't work move to /system/app and reboot...i take no credit for this as I just found it and figured I would post for all to benefit.

Does this work for any JB based rom? or only for aosp roms? Id like to switch to touch wiz JB based roms from ICS. Flash is the only reason why ive stayed with ICS
Just our luck that when we need to find a video that requires flash for testing purposes, we can't find a one. LoL

Works for me on stock browser. If you need a testing site, try the YouTube.com desktop site from your device. It still uses flash for their videos. In browser hit menu/desktop. Thanks for posting this. It's also in the Android themes/apps section on XDA.

This flashplayer works but is there any way to stop the phone from going in to sleep mode while watching flash video? I never had this problem in ICS but when I switched to a JB rom now when the screen times out it goes off and kills the video rather than stay on the length of the video that is playing in flash. Thanks in advance for any help.

There will always be updates to Flash but due to lack of support they're no longer pushed to your device. Therefore, you can obtain the updates as they roll out on Adobe's Flash archive site.
