MIUI Camera quick help - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Hi all, I'm new to Inc 2, coming from Droid x2(fml). anyway.. im running latest miui, and cameras dont work properly.. anyone have a working camera zip that i can flash? much appreciation

Have you tried clearing the cache and Dalvik cache?
Sent from my HTC Incredible 2 using xda premium

Which MIUI build are you running? There's more than one port floating around right now that seem to be actively supported. If it's an ICS/JB build, there have been known issues with the camera in the past (I haven't kept up with it too much as MIUI builds never seem to play nicely on my device). Also, what do you mean by the camera "not working" properly? Is the camera app Force Closing, are the images saving with a green or yellow tint to them, or is there ripping or tearing on one side of the image?
Like mentioned above, try clearing the cache/dalvik cache in Recovery, as well as clearing the cache and data from in Settings->Apps.

Ill give that a try

Worked like a charm. Preciate it big homie

Well seems as if the problem is back. When I take a picture, it has yellowish green lines up and down the screen. Although they are clear when I look at them in gallery. Also, instagram has the same problem while taking photos.
I'm running miui 1.8.26
Well on miui's thread it says 1.8.26, but in my phone it says build number 112300 (1.12.30 ?)

Instagram didn't work for me either. And I realized that camera shutter bug that has those lines appear. So, it must be 'normal'.

For a gb build 1 12 9 is last stable build or you can go to the new ics build it works great also.
Sent from my HTC Incredible 2 using Tapatalk

Yes, I'd either go back to 1.12.09, which was the last stable build with data, or upgrade to the CDMA version of the ICS MIUI. That's the version I'm on, and I have almost no complaints. It is based on Sense, so the camera and ffc work great!
How are you getting data or phone on 1.12.30? People were experiencing phone force close issues with all buildbot versions past 1.12.09 of GB MIUI.

i tried this and it didn't help me for long on MIUI. I finally gave up and went back to a Sense ROM.

Works fine for me on Codename. Have not had a single problem with it.
think its a size issue cause it either f/c or says size too small ...
mine will fc whenever I go into the actual picture taking part of the app. The social parts of the app work perfect though. Running the goodness rom

I am having the same issue. When I try to take a pic, it force closes. I am running MIJJAHZ rom. Any ideas?

I have CM9 alpha 2 with the FC02 kernel and I can take the pictures fine. Where I run into problems is if I am listening to music or podcasts and snap a picture, Instagram mutes all audio until I force close it and then all my sound comes back. I'm pretty sure it is muting it for the shutter sound and then won't un-mute so it has to be killed. Anybody else getting this? Any possible fixes or workarounds?

In CM9 alpha 2 you have to keep Advanced Camera on or it will crash after you take a photo and accept it.
I actually just wiped my phone and it works fine now! Made a backup of my important apps first though : )

Sounds like the issue lies with people on ICS? I've been experiencing the same thing with calkulin's 1.3a rom.
Latest update fixed it for me!

4.2 Camera fully working!

I've gotten it to fully work on my phone. I started from scratch. Factory reset, flash ROM, install everything you want or need, except leave the gapps files off. Rebooted my phone and installed the vending.3.9.16.apk. No problems with any of it yet.
I take that back. Having FC's after opening and closing both of the a few times. Don't know what exactly it is with the gapps that's effecting it but as long as I leave it out it works perfect.
I have CM10 installed and everything thing works on this camera except the regular camera function will freeze after first shot, unless you manual focus first.

This is exactly what is happening with me as well. I got tired of it hanging so I went back to stock cm camera

I keep it installed but i just use stock camera instead. The new features all work fine, plus the new gallery is pretty slick. There will be a fix for this problem soon I am sure.

Camera FC on AOSP and AOKP ROMS

I don't know if it's just my phone or if others are experiencing it too. On every AOSP and AOKP ROM I tried, I always get an FC when i go to camcorder, choose SD 480 video quality and switch back to the camera. The message i encounter is "Unfortunately, gallery has stopped."
Happens to others as well. I suggest using another gallery.apk and replacing it. I have done this before myself a few times and it's works. Also on some roms when taking pictures the phone will just cut off if the battery is low. Some work good and some don't.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
Thank you! Do you know where I could find another gallery.apk?
Change kernel or replace with older versions.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
I've already tried changing kernels. This problem was persistent in cm10 stable, cm10.1 m3, and also on aokp build 6 and whitehawk's 4/27 nightly and on liquid smooth rc7.

Leaked 4.3 camera works perfect with our device ibcluding PHOTOSPHERE

Should work on all 4.0+ aosp ROMs. Just delete/rename gallary2.apk in system/apps then install the apk like normal
I'm posting this because I'm running it right now with zero issues on thddudes beanstalk rom
This isn't actually a leak is it. Its just the camera from the Google edition s4 isn't it?

But when it uses 25% of your battery overnight there should be something wrong. I tried it myself. Photosphere is not worth the no deep sleep new feature, lol.

I tried this running CM 10.1 and it seemed a little laggy for a while. Also, the quick settings did not match up. i.e. I would try and select one scene mode and it would actually pick another. If it was more stable I would use it. I prefer this new quick settings menu over the radial menu
Works well on stock Rom too. I also have problems with settings not matching up.

Meh... It's ok. I still prefer the MIUI camera, even if I don't have front camera support with it. IMHO, it's better than CameraZoom as well.

I am on AOKP and this only half works. It does do photosphere, but it only does 1 picture then it is fuzzy thereafter and the video is horrible and not usable. Does anyone have a .zip to flash back to stock camera and gallery? blah. i did a backup before but it was a a couple weeks ago and I am just not getting around to trying the camera.

Your best luck is to flash the ROM again without resetting data (no wipe)

This works great. It's how I restored my camera
meh
4.3 camera works fine on LG Optimus G F180k. I now have two Camera apps and two Galleries. The only flaw I encountered so far is the picture size. It only goes 8MP maxed and my camera supports 13MP so I only use it for PhotoSphere. The PhotoSphere works well, so far, haven't tried it outdoors yet. The new gallery app is a step up from the stock I had.
I froze the stock gallery and use the gallery app that came with the 4.3 camera. I didn't freeze or uninstalled the stock camera. I'll probably use'em both.
My theory here, maybe this works well with my phone because it first came out on Nexus 4, which is also a LG device and Optimus G and Nexus 4 almost have the same hardware with just a lil' variations like the camera. (N4 with 8mp while LGOG with 13mp, some models have 8mp too just like the N4)
and another thing, the 4.3 camera creates another directory inside DCIM folder. So the two cameras have two different folders inside DCIM.

Would you mind sharing the miui camera that you are using. I've tried pulling the apk files from miui ROMs but I always get a FC. It would make my miui v5 that much more complete.

Thanks. Have you ever gotten the video camera to shoot in full 720p? Not something I use much of, just wondering.
What I'm really wanting to get my hands on now after seeing some previews, is the new focal camera from CM.

It boots, but once you choose language it just jumps back to the CM boot logo and does it over and over. Maybe next build will go further.

I see. Thanks for the heads-up.
Cool, keeping my eye on this, thanks for the info.
I gave it a shot. It was able to boot into Android just fine (upgrade from CM10.1), but trying to do almost anything like going to settings or opening phone caused the UI to reload. (boot animation for 3sec or so) Also, there was no cell as it was a N7105 ROM. Doing a data wipe and installing 4.3 GApps, which I found on page 2, had the same result, only you couldn't get past the welcome screen. It's nice to know it's booting at least, even if it's unusable. (I didn't do any further reading, as I needed my phone working quickly.) I would looove to see a 10.2 with Focal for T-Mobile. Losing the touchwiz framework for the camera has been the one thing holding me back. Focal in 10.1 seems to be doing a lot better, though still not the TW results.
Build 7/31 boots and runs pretty good although there is no data so you have to connect to WiFi. One problem I did notice was when browsing the internet the screen tends to jump and the web page bar blacks out from time to time. That's the one bug I did find. I didn't really fool around with it too much. My old lady kept telling me stop playing with my damn phone.:sly: Focal is pretty cool, not sure how it really differs itself from Google and Samsung camera apps, but hey it's something new and it's from CM.

I just downloaded the latest 8/1 build and its running pretty good!
Edit: So far, everything seems to be functioning, including data. Only thing that's not working is the stock aosp keyboard, but installing a third party keyboard fixed the problem. Overall it's very nice, definitely getting closer to a daily driver.
