Simultaneous otg and hdtv adaptor - Galaxy S III Accessories

Forget about my other topic It made no sense.
If you had a cable with a micro usb connector at one end and two micro usb plugs at the other that is how you would get a hdtv adaptor and usb to work simultaneously.
There are none of these anywhere and nobody has built one so someone with skills in electronics they could make one.
Seems simple to me.
Maybe Samsung will come up with an adaptor like this.

}

Why?
It seems plausible to me as the two micro usb plugs would join to the connector going into your phone, the hdtv adaptor would still have a charge as you would be charging it through the adaptor and the otg cable would connect up to the other micro usb plug.

read the other threads about OTG, and MHL, and you will see why it wont work.

READ THE OTHER THREADS. so a search for MHL+OTG.
I didn't say that MHL+OTG would not work, i said his way of doing won't work, as is outlined in the other threads.
there are MANY threads where the exact same idea comes up, and in the end: nope the hardware each of you want to use doesn't do what you are assuming it does.

[Q] Looking for Micro USB charger pinout

I decided to build my own dock today and wired up a micro USB plug to the official specs.

All I get is car mode but no charging.
Can anyone help on this?
Tried wiring the 5th pin to GND and Vcc but no deal
I need that pinout, too ^^
Don't know if you already know it, else for others searching for this: it seems that for some phones, it's neccesary to short the D+ and D- lines to activate charging without a computer.

What do you mean by shorting? Connect D+ and D- directly or do you have to connect them to GND?
connecting D+ and D- (not to ground) activate DC charging mode.
when standard wired it should work in USB charging mode.
DC mode is not good for a PC USB port which can only handle 500mA max so, be aware, your phone can suck up to 700mA and fry your port !

Is there a dock that has usb ports? (Not looking for power block or actual dock)

Hey guys I'm currently looking for a gadget where you basically plug the dock to the wall socket.
But instead of the dock being a pin connecter like for example this:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The dock has multiple USB plug-in (2 would be nice if not one is fine) So I can charge more than one usb rechargable device such as an iPod and the phone while using them.
Is there such device?
Thanks guys
EDIT: If there is none, I'm thinking of buying a portable battery charger. If anyone has recommendations of good ones that is durable and does the job please feel free to share.
something like this?

just run usb charger in ebay, make sure its not for ipod...

No, I'm looking for a thing where that USB part of the charger is a wire and leads to a "dock" where I can place on my desk but has 2 or one USB port.

[HOW-TO] Hook up a usb-powered external hard drive to your GNex

I searched a long time for a solution and now that I've found it, I thought someone else might enjoy it as well..
So the problem was that I want to move stuff in and out of the phone while travelling. Hooking up a memory stick OTG didn't provide enough space and AC-powered external hard drives are rather huge with their power bricks. I also tried a usb-powered drive but apparently the phone does not give out enough power.. not on its own!
The solution is to use a usb-powered external hard drive, with a DOUBLE USB to mini-USB (or whatever the drive uses as a plug) cable. Plug the first USB into a USB OTG / micro-USB -adapter and then to your phone. Then plug the second USB to your phone charger! Ok so you have to carry around the charger, but its quite small and is useful on its own!
The solution might need a few pictures to clarify:

}
The mounting and file systems are then another issue and probably more phone and/or ROM-specific, but the physical concept should hopefully work for everyone. I couldnt get NTFS working with StickMount but then I tried USB OTG helper, and that did it for me!
What about hfs+ support?

He's talking about when nothing is connected to the adapter. I does not give a notification as it shouldn't. Just like if you connect a usb cable to a computer with nothing attached.

And I am saying I always DO get a notification when i plug in my otg connector . even with no device connected . ..
My OTG cable (monoprice brand) gives a "USB Connector Connected" notification when you attach it with nothing connected.
It also works fine.
So, like if I get no notification? Is it working properly?

Micro USB Type B @ USB Type C : finally it works...

Sad to hear that mate, anyways just wanted to share the shop where I bought mine, which works both ways (data/charger).
I bought one cable on Ebay, and it works perfectly.

This is not a cable, it's obvious that if u buy a Type C cable it must work.
This is an adapter for Micro USB Type B cables.
