No voicemail notifications on CM10 - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey, ever since I flashed an CM10 M2 on my phone, I don't get voicemail notifications anymore, is this normal? Is there a way I can bring this feature back on the phone?
I am running the CM10 M2 Rom, stock kernel, and I am on Bell Mobility network here in Canada.
I've missed a couple calls and never realized that I wasn't getting any voicemails.
Thanks,
JP

No one?

You have to input your carriers voicemail number in your settings

Thanks, indeed I inputted my carriers voicemail in my settings, but its the notifications that I'm not getting, when pressing 1, I am able to go into voicemail, just no notification of a voicemail when I have one.

Maybe a bug ? Are you running a nightly? Also check I'm not sure but some roms you can turn notifications off so check to see if they are enabled

if you dont know the carriers voicemail #, you can also just input *your* phone number with area code, and +1
Code:
1 (area-code) (phone-number)

Yep, that's the one I have been using, and not notifications... Will try my own personal # and see if there's any changes.

Hi JP.
Im with bell and this is a common CM issue.
Apparently in in cm7.1 they had this issue and someone created a patch that made voicemails work for bell(and others). after the CM rolled out cm9 and 10 they stopped applying the patch/fix.
For reference here's the gerrit post about the patch fix: http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/13322/
Hopefully the right person see's this and can help us Bell users.

Works well, just install as normal.
Let do it's thing and it will work, you will get that 9016 message but you can download Private SMS from play store and will solve that problem.

No need to apologize. Thanks for the info. I'm considering moving over to cm 10 but I'm a little reluctant because of some troubles I had when I had my epic phone. Vvm being one of them.
Is cm10 solid enough to be a daily driver? Crashes?

I have had it on my phone for 4 days and it works great. However, there are times when I hit the power button to turn it off and it will not wake up and I have to pull the battery out and reboot my phone. I have had it randomly reboot once, but other than that, it works great and is super fast. I'm impressed.
No need to pull the battery all you need to do is hold down the power button and it should reset

I have been flashing the dailies. Today's worked well. I did have random reboots on 8/20 nightly. Officially they will say it is experimental , but I am also using it as daily driver. Its pretty good. Its definitely the best custom rom out for the SGS3. The one thing that does suck it there is no S-BEAM in CM but its pretty clean otherwise.

I found the below on the Sprint forums. figured i would let ya'll know, if ya didn't already
While that would probably work it won't fix the issue, it just hides it from you.
There are a couple of things that can cause this. Any sort of third party messaging app can cause weird issues like this or if something becomes corrupted for some reason. The messages are normally intercepted by the voicemail app before they get to the messaging app, but if something is not working correctly the voicemail app can miss the message, so it will instead appear in messaging.
1. Open the Sprint Voicemail application
2. Press Menu and choose Compose
3. Record a message that is ~2-3 seconds long, it can be longer but doesn't need to be.
4. Send it to [email protected]
5. Within ~15 minutes your phone will re-register with the Visual Voicemail server and the messages should stop appearing.
That should fix the issue most of the time. This method is similar across all Android visual voicemail phones, and even the Samsung Instinct devices. Blackberries and iPhones have a completely different method.

I too would like to thank you as well. I downloaded it last night and what a
difference it has made all day! Stinks that MIUI has voice mail and not CM.
To answer your question @djayallday I believe that it's a trial for the visual voice to text part.
Voicemail itself should still work without a problem even after the trial period has ended.
Hope that helps

Google Wallet?

The Note II supposedly has NFC support, but the Google Wallet app from Google Play still says it can't be used.
Is there any way to use Google Wallet on the AT&T Galaxy Note II?
Came here to ask this too... I googled as well and found this
http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-...acks/216535-google-wallet-t-official-apk.html
Try THAT (changing the buildprop to a Galaxy Nexus after root)? I don't know how to root yet, so I'll let you know if I'm successful

In case anyone's confused....
Uninstall Google Wallet.
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769083
Change Build.prop lines mentioned in step 2.
Flash: SGS3-TW-US_variants-lib_nfc-fix-jellybean_4.1-1.zip
Reboot.
Install Google Wallet from market.
Add cards and follow what WarlockLord said in his thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2031127

I'm saying that Google Wallet is not working on my AT&T Note II. I did this:
1. Reboot into TWRP and install the zip provided by Warlock in linked thread
2. Reboot system
3. Start up Google Wallet, force close during setup (the screen that says "setup may take up to 5 minutes"... etc)
EDIT: I didn't install from Google Play, I thought I did... but apparently the ZIP installs it for me? I go to Google Wallet in the Play store and there is no "Uninstall" option which means it must be installed in system...

yes you have to do it over again for New ROM. Restore from TiBu not gonna work
Anyone with this done successfully wanna make a flashable zip? Would only need to grab the files in the zip in linked thread and then replace the ones in hte old zip with the ones from your file system. This would help all att users and that user also so they wouldnt have to do the mod over and over, just flash the zip.

[Q] Help with a mod for Jelly Bean ROMs?

I'm trying to remove the texting limit for Jelly Bean ROMs (RC9 LiquidSmooth)...and I haven't found a way to be able to remove it before the first boot occurs. (Like being pre-baked into the ROM)

(I'm not sure I consider this much of a question, cause I know a bit about it, just require some insight, hence why I'm in general.)

Just a quick browse but looks like you need to edit some files prior to flashing. I'd build then flash and make the mods and then build a ROM from your current ROM and use that to redistribute.

Stock? Custom rom? Custom kernel? Custom mms app? Are all the mms options properly checked/unchecked?

My experience with picture messages is that they often get "lost" in transit. Its not the phone or the ROM, they just don't come through.
I've received picture messages weeks after they were sent, and some I never received at all.

Hey Dev thanks for your hard work this rom kicks ass man! I've been using many different roms but this has been far the best stable running rom. I wish it was touchwiz based other then that it rocks man. Thanks for your hard work!
Reporting my issues
Data and wifi work just fine for me. Whenever I give lolipop a try whether it is this rom or cm12 I don't get gps, but as soon as I put liquidsmooth 4.4.4 back on gps is fine.
I got the specific version of shift kernel posted earlier working. If I try getting shift kernel linked in the rom settings i get the black screen issue.
I'm not sure if this is an issue. I was listening to pandora and it was working fine. Then I took my phone out to text someone and as soon as I opened hangouts pandora paused. So, I got out of hangouts and Pandora started working agian. I thought . . . I will figure this one out later. Then I turned the screen off and was going to put it in my pocket, but pandora paused again.
Anyways, thanks for the work you have done to keep Note 2 going. I enjoy everything you put out.

1. Gps should work from the start. Have you tried flashing the gps fix to see if it helps you.
2. Shift kernel... the only version that will work is the one I posted. The other ones are not designed for our device and wont boot.
3. Pandora... I will have to look into this one. I normally dont stream music and when I do it is via bluetooth to my car using my locally stored music.
I will be doing an update to this rom in the near future and will work on fixes for all issues (the very few yall have posted) in the next updated.

Has anyone else had a problem with hearing the person ur trying to talk at during a call? Seems like most ROM's I have tested on my device (Sprint Note II), aside from the Dirty Unicorn 4.4.4, have had this problem. I am currently trying out CyanideL version 5.0.2-RC-7.1-l900 with same low in-call volume. Everything else seems to be working well with the ROM. If there is a fix for this, or a way to increase the volume that I have not found, please let me know. This is the biggest reason I keep switching ROM's. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Streaming Music
Hey jlmancuso,
I don't know if I can quote you because I have less than 10 posts. Streaming music seems to be fine right now. There are a couple variables at play:
First I started over. I wiped and reflashed. I have no idea if I did anything differently from the first time I wiped and flashed . . . so can't say if this is it or not.
Don't know enough about messing with kernels, but I have been playing around with the shift kernel. Originally I was using shift tools, but saw that you were saying that is a work in progress. I was using shift tools before I reflashed. Now, I am using STweaks after reflashing. With the current kernel settings I am not having any issues. . .
Is it possible that kernel settings could effect the music streaming issue I had?

Most users who have streaming or music playing with screen off issues are able to fix it with kernel settings.

You accepting any beta testers on your new rom? I'd love to try it, from what you were saying that's the exact type of rom I'm looking for! Let me know I'd love to give the rom a try and I know there is a chance it won't be supported.

Hey Dev thanks for your hard work this rom kicks ass man! I've been using many different roms but this has been far the best stable running rom. I wish it was touchwiz based other then that it rocks man. Thanks for your hard work!

I just came off CM12. There has been a glitch, that is widespread and never resolved. You have to turn the volume down a notch, and then back up. When doing this, it fixes the issue. You have to do it on ever call.
Don't have to on Bluetooth, but when holding to your ear. I can't remember if its a factor on speaker.
Down, then up. On the volume. Each call.

As far as beta testing I have got my testers line
out already (they have been testers for me for awhile). I am glad your liking this rom.

I can't figure out how to save pictures in a text. I can't forward the PIC either. It was the same on cm12
For in call volume flash the aosp fix from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57026975 not only does it fix the volume issue it also enables a stereo audio output.
Now the pic stuff is related to cm's mms.apk. A third party app is the best way around it.

Ya know. I don't use Google drive. I have it turned off. I think if I turned it on, it would back up the text pics and then I could share / download. Anyone doing this, have any experience?

This ROM has been smooth and reliable. Put it on the list to try.
I went to do a video today and it didn't work. Anyone have any fix or share this issue?

If you haven't done it yet flash the shift kernel. It is the only kernel I have used with the rom and didn't have camera issues.
