[ROM][JB] Team EOS 3 *JELLYBEAN* Nightlies - Nexus S 4G Android Development

Team EOSJB 4.1.2 Crespo4gNIGHTLIES
Continuing on from the success of the EOS ICS roms, we present to you EOS3, based on JELLYBEAN!
It is the goal of Team EOS to develop and maintain the highest performing and most stable AOSP based rom for an array of platforms. For the latest news on Team EOS releases make sure you follow @teameos on twitter and on IRC on Freenode in #teameos.
--
NOTE: Team EOS, it’s members, friends, dogs, cats, and associates are in no way responsible for any loss of data or device functionality. Use this at your own risk!
--
A quick note on Nightlies: NIGHTLIES ARE DEVELOPMENT BUILDS. They are automatically generated every now and then, and represent the compilation of the latest commits to the code repository. While every effort is made ensure that the commits that are accepted are stable and do not have a negative impact to the overall performance and function of the builds it is not possible to test every aspect of a commits impact to the overall repo prior to it’s inclusion in a given build. As a result it is entirely possible that instabilities may be introduced as a result of a given days commits. That is the nature of the nightly system, and the risk that is taken using the latest code changes to the project.
EOS is an AOSP based rom. It is developed and maintained by Team EOS and is the culmination of our own in house development efforts.
Team EOS Nightly builds: http://goo-inside.me/devs/teameos/roms/eos3/nightlies/crespo4g/
G-Apps Package
Because this is an AOSP based rom Google Apps are not included in the base rom. To install Google Apps please flash the following package after installing the base rom:
Gapps package gapps
--
Features:
Because these are nightly builds the included features are constantly evolving, we do not provide a change log manually. Instead please see the changes on jenkins for your build.
For the most up to date and comprehensive listing of the changes included in this rom please visit http://review.teameos.org
Kernel:
Kernel Note: This rom is currently using the stock kernel, so you can find the sources from aosp.
--
Installation Notes:
These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery.
Perform a full wipe (read Factory Reset) prior to installing this over ANY ICS or JB based rom.
BUGS!
If you find strange or otherwise unexplained errors please report them here: https://bugs.teameos.org/ Please include logcats and as thorough a description of the issue and what lead up to the issue as possible. With out this we will be unable to track down these errors.
Want to contribute to the Eos rom? Well you can!

In the latest nightly you will find a new app called CDMATools. I wrote it for toroplus. But I'm venturing into supporting other cdma devices as well. There is a feature called Get MSL. Can you guys test it and confirm it works? Thx.

Anyone having MMS issues?

hi,
I've just installed this ROM that looks like great! (and I've ported this thread in another italian forum...)
Only a couple of requests, if it's possible... :
Would you like to add the volume rocker wake mod, for the "almost broken power button" users like me, and, ever if it's possible, add the "quad lock screen"?
Thanks anyway!!

It's very possible. Sprint and jb have never played nice regarding mms. We had the same issue on sprint gnex. I just ended up using gosms. Not the answer I like to give but at least the sexting can go on

Ya. I think we may be able to do a tad better. It fascinates me how the demand for different features varies from device to device. Not saying that's a bad thing by any means. It's good because it spawns creativity and new ideas.

How is a sense based rom android 2.3.5 at this time?
It isn't sense based, the system folder contains CM apps, but nothing htc/sense related
Reads like an OMGB kang without giving credit to r2DoesInc.
Sorry to my readers and participants. Because of my stupidty and anxiousness to get this up, I managed to screw up the post a bit.
Changes:
*AOSP Base; not Sense (DUH..).
*Credit given to appropriate sources.
Thank you for your tolerance, support, patience, and participation.
As always, enjoy!
I recommend using your own updater-script
Edit: If I missed that you just kept that OMGB part for a reason then sorry that I didn't read all the way through

I recommend that you change your apps to the free ones.. a lot of developers dislike when you put apps that they sell in the market and basically distribute for free, and you should personalize the extra apps that they download.. like the ones you like in 1 .zip and the other google apps in another .zip

Hey, on v2, I keep getting continous and constant force close issues from talkback and skype. Do you know what the problem is? Thanks.

And this is why you shouldn't use someone else's work without knowing what you're doing.
1 do you have permission to use omgb as the base for your rom? I'm thinking you don't and if that's the case you are most likely violating xda rules
2 did you build this from source? I tend to think you didn't
3 don't post roms or anything without correct information and credits...easiest way to get kicked to the curb
4 I could go on but I await to hear more from the op
why is this even posted?
will a MOD please take this down and just post a link to the ROM that this is using. this isnt a new ROM, it's worthless. you can do what u want, but u cant do that on these forums

This is an AOSP-based build with extra contributions from many people which you can use without any type of Google applications.
Visit the CHANGELOG for a full list of changes and features!
All source code is available at the CyanogenMod Github! If you'd like to to contribute to CyanogenMod.

INSTRUCTIONS:
- First time flashing CM 11 to your Galaxy Nexus (or coming from another ROM)?
1. Do a Nandroid backup!
2. FULL WIPE (Data, cache, and dalvik cache)
3. Install the ROM
4. Optionally install the Google Addon
- Upgrading from earlier CM 11
1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. Install the ROM (your Google apps will be backed up automatically)
HOW TO REPORT BUGS OR PROBLEMS?
- Was it a hard reboot? Get me the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
- Was it a soft reboot or a "boot loop"? Run "adb logcat" and get me the full output.
- Pastebin links preferred
NIGHTLY BUILDS
Are HIGHLY experimental. Do not post issues to the issue tracker. Chances are the CM team already knows about the issue and are working to fix it. Be patient flash the next nightly. Complaning about battery life or any number of issues will not change a thing as to that these are EXPERIMENTAL builds!!!
M-Series
Something we have learned over the past few months is that if you don’t release, someone else will do it for you. Since we are open-source, we absolutely encourage it! Unfortunately, the quality of unofficial builds can vary, and we are serious about quality. Of course nightlies are always available, but we realized that having something that is a bit more stable on a more frequent basis is important. Starting now, we are rolling out our M-Series releases. M-Series builds will be done at the beginning of every month. We did a soft freeze of the code base for the last week, blocking new features in order to stabilize. Our plan is to continue this (assuming that the response is good) up until stable release, and onward.
We aren't exactly sure what M stands for. “Monthly”, “milestone”, or perhaps “MINE ALL MINE!”. Whatever it is, I hope that we are meeting the needs of community.
M-Series builds will be available under the EXPERIMENTAL tag. The filename will include the date stamp as well as the M version. These builds should be stable enough for daily use, and we encourage feedback and bug reports.
RELEASE CANDIDATE
Everything is believed to be working at the time of release.
THE FOLLOWING ISSUES ARE NOT CM PROBLEMS, AND CAN NOT BE FIXED IN CM:
* Force closes / "boot loops" / bad permissions / etc when using Titanium Backup
* Non-working third-party camera apps that access the camera incorrectly via native code
* Battery usage/bluetooth/wifi/rebooting/etc problems while using a third-party kernel
* Bugs w/ Google apps
* Bugs w/ the recovery image (i.e., turning the screen on when you charge from off)

so put that in the OP instead.
The CM10/JB gapps link on that page is a relatively recent addition (I'd assume coincidental with the official nightlies starting); people who have been flashing the unofficial nightlies (or other ROMs) have not had the benefit of that link, most likely having a direct link from the OP of their ROM's thread, and then come here and get told they shouldn't be flashing if they can't find it themselves. Who does that benefit?

Initial Impressions
This is just too tempting, so I'm going to play around with this tonight. A few things so far:
1. Have to say the boot animation is just too sweet!
2. I just ran ART and for the first time on a 4.4 ROM it went smoothly (that alone is impressive). I have tried the dialer, voice commands, camera (did not try to record yet, sorry!), Play, and settings with no FCs. Next I'm going to restore my apps from TB and see what happens. Installing apps does take longer as expected with ART but they open lightning fast.
3. After installing and setting up, the ROM froze up a couple of times. After ART installed, so far so good.
4. Those who might be wondering, the ROM can't be themed as of yet but I can live with that if things work & play well together.
I'll report more stuff after I've had a chance to use this and post a few screenshots in a bit. This is a very nice alpha build that could be labeled as beta. No disrespect but @prbassplayer & the SlimTeam seem to be ahead of the game on getting 4.4 going for this phone IMHO. Each build I have tried for CM11 so far has been a nightmare from the get go, and keep in mind I love CyanogenMod as a ROM in general. I'm sure ultimately however they will have 4.4 perfected though. This is no easy task to say the least!

With this ROM it's the same process, just enable it in developer options. The phone will reboot and you will get the usual "android is upgrading, optimizing apps". Takes a while as OP states but things are good after. Like I said, ART just hasn't work on CM11 for me so this a great. Now the next question will be if my normal user apps are going to work. Course I know if one doesn't, it's not the ROM, it's the app's inability to adapt to ART.

Does this have HALO? I do not see it in the feature list. Very interested in giving this a shot if so! Thanks for your hard work!

I hate being *that guy*, but it clearly states check the FAQs...
http://slimroms.net/index.php/faq/slimbean/349-add-halo
Two questions I didn't see-
1- Is a wipe needed when coming from another version
2- Can I change the lock screen shortcuts yet?
I have been waiting for a 4.4 Slim. Unfortunately it looks like the most current beta does not support changing the LCD density yet. 360 is just too small for my old eyes. I will try once I'm able to change DPI to 480.

Texdroider dpi in the play store works great for doing that!

+1. I can confirm that Texdroider DPI does the job perfectly. And thank God for it. Aging eyes here too, and as much as I like Slimkat, I just couldn't hack it.

Great ROM!
One question though, is there any way to get a double tap of the built-in HTC home icon to bring up the menu within apps or from the home screen?
Thanks
I'm using this kernel to enable HTC logo as menu as well as double tap to wake.

I'm wary at adopting AOSP for this phone again. I'm on my 5th One since September, with 3 of them dying with the hot battery/quick drain issue, and then dying so hard they end up as bricks. All 3 times I've been on a SlimROM. SlimBean once, and SlimKat twice.
I love SlimROMs and have had nothing but good things happen, until I got on the One. I've only seen a couple of instances of this happening with other AOSP adopters, so I know I'm in the minority. It's tough to pull the trigger though, after being through this many phones.
I'll keep an eye out on the thread, but I'm going to run stock for awhile.
Sorry this wasn't too constructive for the thread, but I guess I'm looking for positive assurance that no one else is having these issues.

[ROM][AOSP][4.4.4][UNOFFICIAL] CarbonRom [13/07/2014]

About CarbonCarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
FeaturesSimply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com/ This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.
5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
FAQ
1) Can't mount internal and external sdcard on PC
Put USB debugging ON

To have status bar opaque with a custom color, you must have low.mem set to false in build.prop. Is this what you meant?
About the "secondary keys", it is not implemented in Carbon yet (CM is the only 4.4 which has it, from my knowledge atm).
About weekly, I don't wanna do any promise for now.

Confirmed, I don't think it's device specific bug, but a ROM bug. I've reported it, and as soon as possible, if I'm wrong, I'll try to find a solution.
EDIT
I found out that's not a ROM's bug, but it's our "low.mem=true" which resets it on every reboot. In fact if you set "low.mem=true" then your settings will be restored on reboot, as it should.
So, if you want that transparency, you have to set "low.mem=false" in build.prop.

But I set low.mem to false in build.prop still notification drawer transparence doesn't stick... Anyway that's not a major problem at all...
