Hey my phone is rooted but I don't have a backup!!...I also already have Hemidall already downloaded so what is the next process??

I've never used heimdall, I have Windows but go to galaxys3root.com and there is a guide there on how to root. Just follow those steps and it should work. You will lose all the data on your internal sdcard though

Did you install that from the market? If so that app has bricked countless sg3's including mine. That app should have a warning or just be removed from the market its terrible, there are other ways to get beats installed without bricking your device!!

I agree DO NOT USE that site. But my main reason for visiting this thread was to say Beats sucks. Get good headphones and PowerAmp and you should get way better sound quality.

yes, it's real you are not dreaming, it;s that easy
the whole process takes about 3 min tops
The methods I've found when searching thru threads were all thru Odin. Via custome recovery, I'm a noob in terms of Samsung. Never really liked touch wiz, but this phones has such great hardware it can't be denied. My only riff is that they didn't go with 1280×800 Res, but that would give the galaxy nexus problems. But again its not like i posted this in the deployment section. I was always told "if u have a question you should ask". And i did so in the right forum.

Since you are on EL 29 you should be able to use the exynos exploit to obtain root without a computer by using the apk in the thread below.

I have two d710 and I too would like to know if there is a way to root with out a computer. Currently one of my d710 does not charge(I have to remove battery and charge the battery separately from device, its not so bad I have multiple batteries).
I have tried different cables to no profit. I have one of my D710 rooted rocking CM11. But would love to be able to root the wife's phone to.

If you just got your phone the BEST way by far is to just just sfhub's autoroot package http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342728
Run the root, then add the EL29+CWM+Rogue, or EL26 whatever your kernal says you have. This will give you root and CWM for flashing modems, and ROMs. Just spend some serious time reading the stickies and through the threads. You really don't want to end up with an expensive paper weight

[Root] How to Root T-Mobile Galaxy S3 SGH-T999!

Here's a video tutorial for how to root T-Mobile Galaxy S3 SGH-T999, specifically for T-Mobile.
For T-Mobile, you will have to get into CWM recovery by holding down Volume Up + Center + Power button, then let go of Power button upon reset, a small difference between other U.S. Galaxy S3s but I see most people are having trouble with just getting into recovery after flashing with ODIN so here's a noob-proof video:

Title typo.
did you all have to download samsung kies to do this as well? cause it's not showing up, and i don't really wanna have to download kies if there's a way around it.
I didn't download Kies...did this on my work computer which definitely has never had any Samsung phone software on it.
It's running Windows 7 64-bit Professional if that helps.
my home desktop (Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate) didn't need it either - just tested now. All I installed on both machines were the normal USB drivers.
Zedomax is the [email protected]?$_!(/=?N' Man!!!
i get up to where I click on PDA, select the clockwork.tar file, hit start, and it does nothing... Any ideas?

To be a bit more clear.. There indeed can be many kinds of routes, some can reset your counter, and I believe some don't. Counter is a number that changes if you root your device so T-Mobile knows you messed with it. If your counter gets reset, they can't tell if you rooted or not.
I'm not on the T-Mobile network, so I didn't really care which. Head over to the developer section of this device category and read the thread by 'Simplelife' on how to root! Pick a method best for you. I personally used option 2.

Just picked up 2 of these T-Mo Note 2's last weekend. I just used the Galaxy Note2 ToolKit v3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957720 Just follow the on screen instructions, and make sure you read all the options. It wasn't as easy as unlocking and rooting my Nexus... but all I had to do is click one more option lol!
Thanks everyone for input. I used toolkit v3 and it worked flawlessly. Got root, recovery, and jedi x11. Friggin awesome.

How do I find the root toolkit?
I think the easiest method would be to flash TWRP and then flash superzu via TWRP.
