Root Tmobile ??? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Now we have US Tmobile T889. Where and how we can root this phone ?

In it's own forum once someone discovers the root and creates the forums.
Patients, it JSUT came out.
Also, I got the white and iPhone owners are jealous. They keep doing side-by-side comparison.

HAHA. I was going to ask the same question.
I didn't realize how big this phone was until I held it in my hands (coming for G-Nex), but the thing that caught me off guard was the sheer speed. This phone is freaking FAST. Had it for couple of hours and I love it!!!!
Now waiting for Root.

did he try using CWM to install it? that's the best way to go about it. since CWM should universally work.

why? both phones have the EXACT same chipset. i'm pretty sure you can flash n7100 stock firmware on t-mobiles and it would work. the reason why previous phones were not inter-flashable was because of the differetn chipset used. both n7100 and t889 use the SAME exynos chip. this should be fun. I'm ging to buy an AT&T and flash the N7100 to get rid of the bloat.

thanks it worked like a charm

I believe you need root to install/use recovery.
Trying to root with the wrong procedure can (and did ) brick a phone. After root, flashing ROMs cannot brick a phone IF you ONLY flash from Recovery. If it doesn't work or even boot up - flash something else or restore backup.

Yes, it would be nice if a tmobile user would confirm the method they used. Want to root so I can get some titanium backups restored.

I can verify that root works with the toolkit on TMOUS SGH-T889. Selecting option 2, then option 4 [works on any build]. 5 minutes later, root and CWM.

Would be nice to know if the root method is destructive as well (wipes user data)

they are probably different radios. just because they are the same chipset doesn't mean things will work properly. if they have different radios. which they should. flashing the international will mess up your radio. (baseband, modem, etc)

Not necessary as in if you do not do it it will not work. It is optional you can do it if you want to or not up to you.

Is it possible to unlock SM-P605V Galaxy note 10.1 Verizon?

I wanted to unlock the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 from Verizon but see no where can do it?
Please let me know if you have one
I have one and we weren't able to unlock with 4.3. I am curious whether anything changed under KK... but AFAIK... The answer is no.

Just root and flash a custom ROM from here. I have never heard that you can NOT root a carrier specific device. I bought a T-Mobile version of P-605 from Germany and I unlocked it by rooting and flashing a custom ROM.

The bootloader is locked. The current CF auto root methods do not work. Odin fails. At least they didn't before. If I am wrong please let me know.

Have you tried all methods? If nothing works then maybe you need to wait until someone cracks it? I have always been able to un-brand carrier specific devices.

lol I genuinely appreciate your reckless testing. I'm not familiar enough with the process to be hopeful or hopeless about the future for dev on vzw bootloader shenanigans. I willingly let vroot attempt to get access on my vzw note 3, fail, then asked kingo to violate the sanctuary before getting it right. There's many people who know a LOT more than me who will swear up and down about risks being benign but I think it's undeniable the entire process is more than unsanitary.
I wouldn't sell my soul to the devil for root/vstrap on this device but then again... he has yet to make an offer.

[Q] Need Help - loosing root

Hi guys
Been a while since I've been on the forum.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 - Tmobile and tripped the knox protection.
The issue I'm having is that I keep on loosing root after reboot.
This is the specs of the phone as is:
Model - GT - I9505G
Android 4.4.2
Baseband - M919UVUEMK2
Kernel [email protected] #1
Build KOT49H.08.19.2014
My phone is acting funny (loosing signal, no satelite connection on gps) so I need to root again and install a new rom and kernel. maybe update the modem.
I'm using windows 8.
Please advice where to take it on the next step.
Thank you
Update to the NH7 bootloader. Or at least reflash the stock MK2 firmware and root with CF auto root

Loosing root, meaning that I root the phone, than when I check it after a while is not rooted anymore.

I was thinking to go with the other one ))
I fallowed the guide there and installed M919UVUFNH7_M919TMBFNH7_M919UVUFNH7_HOME.tar.md5
Now on start, was thinking to let the phone sit a little bit, but I am getting " Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped" multiple times. Like a lot of times and I keep on hitting ok.
Any idea why? Is that ok?
Should I just move on np?

anyone else get the prompt to update the software? are you going to update?

probably too early to know, does anyone know if this update will affect root? coming from htc, i remember updates were frowned upon as they can make rooting more difficult.
