AT&T Pre-order up.... - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/samsung/galaxy-note-ii-titanium-gray.html#fbid=XZhd3Sse7RX

Just ordered mine but I didn't see an option for white. I didn't want white anyways but worth mentioning.

Scheduled to ship on Nov 6th which is a little faster than what we were told.
Unfortunately I can't seem to pre-order the phone through my corporate portal to AT&T, so I am not sure what to do. Guess I gotta wait until release?

Did you have unlimited data? If so did they let you keep it?

Why is T-Mobile $70 more?

Just pre-ordered through AT&T Premier at no commitment pricing and kept my unlimited data plan.

I didn't see it in the premier store either, so I called to check with them. The guy told me to just order from the regular site and then call when I receive the phone to cancel the "plan" since it's not a contract. He said I would not be charged anything.

I just put my order in for an upgrade. I am on at&t premier with an unlimited data and they let me 'keep my existing plan'. The phone was initially listed at $399.99, but was later updated to include a $100 instant rebate, bringing to $299. I ended up paying $355 after taxes and was notified it would be shipped Nov 6 with free 2 day shipping.

The problem is that if I order through Premier I get $25 back and free activation, so I am trying to figure out how to do it through Premier

This is how I did it: log into my att and then click upgrade and then it took me to the premier store and there it was. Only option for me was no commitment pricing and nothing ever prompted me about my data plan.
Did it this same way with the GSIII.

Preordered!
Just ordered mine also, my contract was up but I still went with the no commitment price and I will keep my unlimited plan... at least until I switch to prepaid.

I don't yet have an account so I get into the Premier store differently I guess

T Mobile is higher because they have cheaper rate plans. So the balance the plans with the cost of the phone. Or so they say.

This past summer, I preordered the GSIII through the premier store and renewed my contract at the same time. I was given the option to keep my 4G LTE unlimited data plan, so I did it. I wonder if they're still offering that now.

I was switching from a 3g unlimited plan and they let me switch to an LTE unlimited plan without issue. It just gives you the option for unlimited like any of the others. Just from what I have heard don't select a non unlimited plan unless you want to lose the unlimited forever.

You people freak out too much.
Of course ATT will let you keep your unlimited (throttled) plan when you upgrade or buy at no commitment pricing. If they didn't it would be all over the Internet.
Chill out!!

+1 for me. Ordered the Titanium Gray. Order says it should arrive on or before 11/9/12. Can't wait. Looks like no earphones in the box but I could be wrong.

Holy crap, I did not upgrade to LTE unlimited. Hopefully at&t CS lets me do that after the fact.

I refreshed the premier store again, and it's there now - just the titanium gray one.
I think I'll keep my original order from the regular store since the premier store does not have the option to ship overnight.

No, 30 flat.
right now i pay $20/month for 5 gigs (got the android preferred data plan)
so that means... i'll be paying $20 for the "value plan" for unlimited data. YAY
I use to be a Tmobile customer but switched to sprint, i cant lie even tho
i have a year left on my contract, i might switch back to tmobile.
When will this go into effect?

The pricing is for Classic and Value plans right? Wouldn't that make us have to transfer to one of those plans?

I've never gotten a message about it on CM.
I can't really say its illegal, its just not using it through the default application. And @aNYthing24 I have an Even More Family Plan.
I'm on the value plan paying $10/month for 2gb. I will definitely pay $20 to have truly unlimited data.

My life for Aiur

[Q] Contract terminated

So my Sprint contract got terminated for roaming. It will be effective next month.
I had really bad service where I lived. My signal would sometimes just go dead and would have no data just cellular and 3g 4g speeds were abysmal.. Trying to watch a youtube video or even load a gif HURT.
My question is while I go on about selling my GS3, what are my options for service? Can my phone go on a Sprint month to month service while I can jump ship?
Question for you, did Sprint charge you the ETF or anything like that, like was there any negatives other than service being cut?

Nope. The letter stated no ETF would be applied.
Really, I'm happy. Their service was unusable and I got tired of waiting on promises of better coverage. I think at this point in my area going with an unlocked Nexus 4 on TMobile prepaid is my answer ($50 a month unlimited everything. Speeds are terrific 16mbps+ in my apartment).
Just trying to figure out what can I do while I find a buyer for my phone and jump ship
You could flash to page plus in the mean time which uses Verizon's network. Or activate a cheap phone on your line right now and sell the gs3 now

I know T-Mo prepaid has a $30 unlimited Text and data(throttled after 5GB) with 100 minutes a month. Unless you need the unlimited minutes, I'd say the $30 would be a better deal.
As for selling the phone, I'd say try EBay and Craigslist.

I was looking at TMO before deciding to extend my contract with Sprint and upgrade to the SIII. TMO does have plans that are cheaper which doesn't allow tether (unless you add it on - $15.00/month) or more expensive plans that do allow tether but aren't unlimited. It's all a cluster.

Who says there is no contract on T-Mobile anymore ??

Nobody said the classic subsidized plans were eliminated completely. Walmart, Costco, Amazon, Best Buy and other retailers who carry Tmobile phone still have the old plans because retailers get a cut when they lock in customers for two years. But at Tmobile corporate stores and online at tmobile.com, only the new plans are offered. Tmobile is all about choice, which you don't have at Att, Verizon, or Sprint

They didnt get rid of contracts, they just now offer no contract plans.
I got the GS4 no contract and the monthly payment is $50 unlimited everything and $20 if you dont want them to slow down 4G after 500MB/month.
comes out to $70, next line would be $50 and every line after would be $30.
Comes out cheaper than that $79
I signed 2YR contract with tmobile and paid 150 for mine

Because the price without contract is actually better than with contract. Let me crunch the numbers -
With Contract from Costco: $200 for Galaxy S4 + $80/month for unlimited talk/text/2.5GB web = $2,120 over the 2 year contact
Without Contract from T-Mobile.com: $630 for Galaxy S4 + $60/month for unlimited talk/text/2.5GB web = $ 2070 over 2 years period
The economics are even better if you bring a $300 Nexus 4 instead of purchasing a Galaxy S4. And if you are in a family plan, you're talking about over a thousand dollar in savings across multiple lines. BUT the biggest benefit is that after 2 years, you will pay $60/mo off contract no matter which phone you use, whereas under contract you'll still pay $80/mo long after you've technically paid off the subsidy.

Because you pay less when you bring your own phone. If you want contract there is the eip plan where you pay $20 more per month. On other carriers there is no option like this. Bottom line you pay only for service not for the device. In other carriers even if you bring your own device you still pay the same price as others with contract.

Hard for me to decide. We are paying $88 after tax and everything for 2 lines with 1000 minutes shared, and 5gb data each. No messaging plan and 5gb is more than enough, use wifi most of the time.

Because you dont want to be locked down to one phone for two years. You can pay your first phone off and get another phone. Lets say if there is another nice phone comes out 8 months from now, like the S5. If you have a two year contract, you cant do this.

T mobile global roaming quick review.

I went to Canada today for the first time since global roaming became included in our plans. Overall it was a good experience. Google maps worked well for over 100 miles. I tested out groove ip. The call quality was fair but not great. I tested zoiper with VoIP.ms using the g729 codec and the call quality was better than groove ip. A few Google searches worked as well. I'm attaching a screenshot of the t mobile text I received as soon as I started roaming. All roaming where I went used Rogers network.

I'm in Montreal this week and got the same text. I thought it seemed ambiguous. It isn't clear whether my *current* plan qualifies for free text/data or if they are telling you there is a plan that qualifies.
So I called TMo and asked...was told for my plan:
Calls $.15/min. Txt $.50/msg. Data $10/MB
Wow.
So I've been in airplane mode all week except when I have wifi calling turned on.
Needless to say I'm rather irritated about the msg from TMo as I could have easily racked up a 4-digit bill in 3 days time.
I'm on a shared small biz plan with unlimited everything.
I'm on the $70 unlimited plan. My wife has the same plan. I thought the business plans would be even better than the unlimited plans. Guess the devils in the details. Our bill is definitely cheaper than it was with Verizon. My bill with Verizon was $250-280 a month going to Canada regularly with light data usage. Were saving about $80 a month and were making monthly payments on our phones plus insurance. Aio/straight talk & go phone are a no go if you live in Buffalo and go to Canada frequently.

There are prepaid plans that there is no credit check or anything. You pay ahead of time as well. The no contract plans are paid following the month of use. So they are not all prepaid. There are prepaid and no contract postpaid.

This new data plan they have is awesome. I'm retired Army and my wife is currently deployed overseas, this new plan helps because now she can text or Facebook messenger/skype (slow) me and the kids and was able to see instant pictures of our grandson who was born a month after she left.
Ask this at no cost to us. And she gets to use wifi calling to me free and when no wifi available calls are only 0.20 cents a minute.
The call quality is Pretty good seeing she is way on the other side of the world. There's only like a 2 second delay.

Upgrade and Lose My Plan

Want to upgrade my S3 to the G3 but not only do I pay a $30 upgrade fee which I can live with but I lose my unlimited data plan with Verizon. Guess I knew it was coming but unprepared as to choosing the More Everything plan or looking elsewhere. Currently paying about $70 a month for the plan and 450 minutes plus a 1000 texts. Can't I just buy the phone at Best Buy or something and just have them activate it. I know, call and ask. I will, just wanted some suggestions. Thanks.

are you going to pay full retail? If so then i believe you are safe.
If you are planning on trying to get the phone at a discount, then I have a feeling you are SoL unless you open another line and get the phone on that line, then just swap the sim cards out. You will be stuck with another monthly fee for that line.
Whatever you do - don't get rid of your plan without talking to me first!
I'm talking. I might pay retail if I can keep the plan. Wondering if I do, if I can take the Edge route because that's a total ripoff but may be worth it in my case.
Update: Forget that. Edge is still More Everything. Just a way to upgrade early.
