2.Install application as routine apk installation and open it.

How to unroot Exploit :
Open Exynos Abuse app, uncheck disable explot & Disable Exploit on boot then select Unroot device
Restart device and wait for 10 min. and then you can check status.
Since Chainfire support our note now . if you want reset counter for warranty then download TRIANGLE AWAY from play store which will do the job.Still dont know what is it, go here for more infor http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114.
If you want to unroot for some reason :
From stock rom and root by Chainfire method all you need to do : Triangle Away app ,SuperSU / setting/ full unroot. Reboot into Recovery / Factory reset.
From custom rom : reflash stock image via Odin .reroot by CF auto root, reset counter with Triangle Away App,SuperSU/Setting/Full unroot . Recovery / Factory reset.
Can find stock firmware from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/ search for T889

Common question about reseting counter
I have reset counter but system status still 'custom'
You should have stock recovery (Opton 2)
If you already have stock recovery(CF Auto root) then reset counter first
then wipe cache + wipe data(factory reset) + re wipe cache
You should now have system status 'official'
I have rest counter but after reboot again it goes to 1
This happen if you have rooted with CUSTOM RECOVERY(Opton 1)
This is neither error of recovery nor triangle away. This happens due to new bootloader which have auto checksum for recovery, when you reboot to custom recovery count will raise.
To prevent this you need to have play version of Triangle away, and you should check (enable) 'Auto reset at boot'. Again this feature depends on kernel/recovery is supported or no

Yeah, the reason I put my thread in origin dev because i seen every forum do the same ,all I do is try to help but I guest moderator want to keep dev thread at NEVER so let it be. Toolkit is good but complicated if you choose wrong option then will be problem thats why I come up with this solution which easy to root and with out any issue .

Yes, you are right! It belongs in the general section and not stickied in the dev section (like every other phone) so it can get lost on page 8 and more people **** up their phone.
Seriously. Go in the dev section of 20 different phones and tell me what percentage have a root method stickied right at the top.

I also was able to root my phone with this method.

[Root]ATT SGS3 Tested working! Reset flash counter! Simple

First off, let me say that I did not develop this stuff and all thanks should go to those that did. Special thanks to noobnl, mskip and TeamEpic for all their work.
So here we go.
General Disclaimer:
Use these tools and this guide at your own risk. Doing these things wrong/improperly/etc. has the ability to completely ruin your device and YOU assume all risk and responsibility if that happens.
Also note that Rooting WILL violate the manufacturers warranty on the device making it ineligible for warranty repair. If you have insurance on the device however they MAY still replace it for the cost of your deductible.
Root Method Starts Here.
1. Download and install the Samsung USB drivers from Samsung's website
2. Turn on Debugging on your Phone
* Open Settings
* Select "Developer options" in the System section
* Check the box for "USB Debugging"
3. Plug you phone up to your computer using the USB cable and allow the drivers to install.
4. Download CMW_SuperUser_v3.07.zip from the bottom of this post
* I recommend making yourself a nice little GS3 folder in your downloads folder for all this stuff so it's easy to find
* DO NOT UNZIP!!
5. Copy CMW_SuperUser_v3.07.zip on to the Root of your GS3s INTERNAL storage (if you put it into a folder, you may have a hard time finding it later, but that's on you).
* DO NOT UNZIP!!
6. Unplug you phone
7. Power off your phone
^^ once u have now odin time......
1. Download Odin3-v3.04 from the bottom of this post
2. Extract Odin3-v3.04 into it's own folder somewhere where you can easily find it.
3. Download fixboot.tar from the bottom of this post to somewhere you can easily find it.
4. Reboot your phone into download mode
* Hold down Volume Down, Home and then power until Warning!! message is displayed
* Press Volume Up to continue.
5. Your phone should now be in download mode and displaying a green Android and say Downloading. If it is not, power off your phone by holding down the power button and then try to get into Download mode again. Do NOT progress until you have done so.
6. Go into the folder you extracted Odin3 into and run Odin3 v3.04.exe
7. Connect your phone to your computer via USB
8. In Odin, the COM box all the way to the left should turn blue and it should say Added!! in the Message area.
** Click on PDA and in the Open window that pops up navigate to and open the Tar With CWM from below file you downloaded earlier
** Verify that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked
** Click Start. Once the process is completed you device should automatically reboot and there will be a green PASS! box in the upper left of the window. You can then close Odin.
** Power off your device and boot into Recovery mode
* To boot into Recovery mode: Hold down Volume Up, Home and then the Power button until you are in Recovery (it should say CWM-based Recovery at the top of the screen)
**. Install CMW_SuperUser_v3.07.zip that you copied onto your internal memory
* Navigating ClockWorkMod Recovery: Use the Volume Up and Down arrow keys to change the highlighted option and the home key to select an option. The Back softkey works, but will not be lit and will take you back one screen.
Installing a zip:
* Select "Install zip from sdcard" (Yes, I know it's on the internal storage.)
* Select "Choose zip from sdcard"
* Select the zip you want to install; in this case CWM_SuperUser_v3.0.7.zip
* Select "Yes" to begin installing
**. Once the process has completed use the Back arrow to get back to the main recovery screen (remember, it works, but it's not lit) and select "reboot system now." Once your device boots up you should now be 'Rooted,' but there's still a few more things to be done
Reset counter: triangle away from playstore and reset the counter.
15. Install BusyBox. There are actually several ways to do this, but the BusyBox app in the Google Play Market is quick and easy. Install it, grant it SuperUser permissions and it'll walk you through the rest and advise you when to update.
16. Update your Binaries.
* Open the Superuser app
* Get into settings (the wrench icon in the upper right of the screen)
* Select Su binary under the General section towards the bottom of the list
* Select Update
**.Your device is now rooted and all set.
** optional: update cwm using rom manager or use img from clockworkmods website. Flash through adb.

Ohhh how I love root. Let me count theee ways: ClockWorkMod recovery (and nandroid backups), ROMs, TitaniumBackup, AdAway (/system/etc/hosts), adb over wireless, free wifi tethering, permanent debloating, kernel overclocking, CIFS (windoze) network shares, poking around /data/data in a root adb shell, yadda yadda...

[ROOT] SGH-I467 ATT Note 8

Hello, I can not post on the developer forums yet, so I will post what I can here.
I was able to get root access to my Samsung ATT Note 8 (SGH-i467). See attached image.
Thank you;
lyriquidperfection: for the packing tools. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2411243

The XDA Forums: for being available.
chainfire: for obvious reasons. http://www.chainfire.eu/
I will try to put together a complete how to when I can. For now I will link to the image files I created.
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR DEVICE NOT WORKING.
Here we go.
1. Download the i467 firmware from http://www.sammobile.com
1a. Extract the main zip file you downloaded. Leave the .tar.md5 files intact. They are the files you select with Odin in steps six (6) and nine (9).
2. Download Odin 3.07 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1738841
2a. Extract and launch Odin.
3. Download the pre-rooted I467UCAMF1 images from SAMSUNG-SGH-I467I467UCAMF1-ROOT.tar
3a. Do not extract or modify this file.
4. Do a factory reset of the device either in system settings or using recovery (volume up). Yes, I have found you must do this.
5. Boot into download mode. (Home + Volume Down + Power)
Step 6 is only required if you accepted the OTA "CAMF2".
6. Use Odin to flash all four files downloaded in step 1. BOOTLOADER, CODE, MODEM and CSC files.
6a. Let the device finish install and boot.
6b. Boot into download mode. (Home + Volume Down + Power)
This is the fun part.
7. Select PDA in Odin and select the file downloaded in step 3. Make sure all other files are not checked. Flash... Odin will say it failed. Yes, don't worry, recovery is still there.
8. Reboot into download mode (Home + Volume Down + Power)
9. Using Odin only flash the BOOTLOADER, MODEM, and CSC from step 1. Do not flash the CODE file or the modified image. In other words, leave PDA unchecked in Odin.
10. Let the device install and reboot.
You should now be able to run SuperSU.
If you want to update to OTA CAMF2 then follow these steps BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE;
Thanks to DanMc85 and others for testing. Also, usernamenotfound wrote instructions in the next post, thank you.
1. Start SuperSU and in the settings enable Survival mode.
2. Connect to a Wifi network. (Thanks aTt)
3. Go to system Settings and select About Device at the bottom of the list.
4. Select Software update on the right.
5. Go through the update process and the device will reboot. You should be at version CAMF2.
[EDIT]
Bootloader = BOOTLOADER...tar.md5
PDA = CODE...tar.md5 - Don't select this in step nine (9). Leave blank.
PHONE = MODEM...tar.md5
CSC = CSC...tar.md5
Thank you ZeroxCorbin, this method works flawlessly!
Thanks to DanMc85, crazymikey, & Danno5150 for the following:
If you are looking to update to MF2 after you root, make sure that you enable Survival Mode within SuperSU Pro and then perform the update BEFORE you remove any bloatware or make any changes to the file system, as changes in the system will cause the update to fail.
Remember to do a backup of any apks before removal as this will allow you to put them back in place in preparation for future updates. (MF3?)
Hope this helps mitigate some of the questions.
Thanks again guys!

I think that he's talking about SIM unlock maybe? If that's the case, I'm assuming that the way that this root was setup, you will probably need to re-unlock the SIM, but I'm not 100% sure.
So glad we finally have root! Won't do this until a bootloader is figured out though. But this is the first step! I wish I knew more on how to crack bootloaders to help out :/
So I know, does this method work with the OTA Update that AT&T put out in August?

If you want to update to OTA CAMF2 then follow these steps BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE;

Step six is just for you.
Only issue I had was forgot how picky Odin is about cables. Used a monoprice one and it Odin wouldn't see it. Used the stock cable and all was good.
Tablet is rooted and am in the process of debloating it.
Thanks very much for this. We all appreciate it.
Happy Note 8
Thanks thanks thanks. It worked like a charm!!! :good: I did have to find a shorter cable - wonder why my 10ft cable didn't work
I am unclear on the use of odin
I am unclear on these two parts:
Step 6 is only required if you accepted the OTA "CAMF2".
6. Use Odin to flash all four files downloaded in step 1. BOOTLOADER, CODE, MODEM and CSC files.
6a. Let the device finish install and boot.

I have not used Odin, how do you "flash" these files? It looks like you have to do them one at a time. I am just unclear how to flash the files.
Also, It looks like you are doing them twice if you have the CAMF2 update, which I do, is that the case?

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR DEVICE NOT WORKING.
Here we go.
1. Download the i467 firmware from http://www.sammobile.com
1a. Extract the main zip file you downloaded. Leave the .tar.md5 files intact. They are the files you select with Odin in steps six (6) and nine (9).
2. Download Odin 3.07 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1738841
2a. Extract and launch Odin.
3. Download the pre-rooted I467UCAMF1 images from SAMSUNG-SGH-I467I467UCAMF1-ROOT.tar
3a. Do not extract or modify this file.
4. Do a factory reset of the device either in system settings or using recovery (volume up). Yes, I have found you must do this.
5. Boot into download mode. (Home + Volume Down + Power)
Step 6 is only required if you accepted the OTA "CAMF2".
6. Use Odin to flash all four files downloaded in step 1. BOOTLOADER, CODE, MODEM and CSC files.

I downloaded the factory firmware from sammobile (took over 2 hours)
but I think the csc file is corrupt. odin gives an error when I try to select it, and windows shows that the last modified date for the file is year 3247
I downloaded the zip again from sammobile and it's still the same.
Could anyone upload the csc file somewhere like dropbox??
Thanks
EDIT: When I tried to select the csc file I was getting the error "parameter is incorrect". Googling the error shows people saying to remove the ".md5" extension and retry.
When I did, it accepted it (although I didn't flash it yet). But I just wanted to make sure that I am not bypassing the checksum and flashing a corrupt file. Is that what you guys had to do as well, assuming it is still the same factory firmware on sammobile?
Thanks
Can i use that to repair my bricked Note ?

You can find how to root here. FULL CREDITS GO TO Zionator as he wrote up the instructions.
Easy Guide to Root :
1. Go to Rooting Guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...6#post63637426
Download only the P605 modded boot IMG and then come back here. Move the tar to tablet. "In my opinion that guide is very confusing" This is much more simple...
2. Go to TWRP (download version 2.8.7.0) - https://dl.twrp.me/lt03wifiue/
Download the img.tar This file you keep on pc to flash via Odin.
3. Go to SuperSU v2.52 Beta - https://download.chainfire.eu/743/Su...erSU-v2.52.zip
Download the zip. Move the zip to tablet.
4. Reboot the tablet into download mode and open Odin on the PC then connect the tablet to PC. In Odin click AP tab and locate the TWRP and uncheck Auto-Reboot then hit start. When done hold the power button + vol up button "the vol button furthest from power button" + home button til you see red writing on top right hand corner. This can take a while so don't panic just wait.
5. When finished booting into TWRP pull Spen and click Install then find modded boot img "remember to switch between IMG & ZIP mode in the lower left hand corner" Now flash the boot img. Do not reboot just go back and switch back to ZIP mode and flash SuperSU when done reboot.
6. Wait for the boot to finish. You are now rooted.
I hope this makes it easy for you!!!
thank you for the guide buhohitr.

[Guide][Root] How To Root Marshmallow (SM-G920P) *Updated*

Hey guys, I decided to update the thread in hopes of clearing confusion.
Currently I've found two methods of rooting that seem to help people.
Method 1 - E.K IT Services: ekitservices.com currently run by senior member @djerick3 *Not a sponsorship*
Method 2 - CF-Auto Root: Very simple and easy to use, all you need a:
Windows PC (7 - 10)
USB Cable
Step 1 - Download CF-Auto Root for the SM-G920P.
Step 2 - Using either adb (adb reboot download) or hardware keys (turn the device off and hold in Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button once prompted, press Volume Up)
Step 3 - Plug the device into the PC and open the included Odin in the CF-Auto zip
Step 4 - Click the "AP" button and choose the included md5 file
Step 5 - Make sure to check the "Option(s)" tab and make sure only "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" are checked. Then switch back to the main tab and press start.
Step 6 - Wait as CF-Auto Root will begin to boot and root, note that the process can take while. Upon rebooting you should have the SuperSU app (Note. If its not there, you can find it HERE)
Step 6 - Enjoy
< ----- Optional - TWRP Install ------ >
As of right now, current TWRP releases are not working on marshmallow. Lucky though @ram9200 created a custom version of the tool that should work
Step 1 - Download the TWRP Tar file
Step 2 - Boot back into Odin mode and flash via Odin on your PC (use the "AP" tab once more)
Hope this helps:good: as always though, of you need help feel free to to send me a PM

Hey guys, after all the confusion on rooting 6.0.1, I decided to throw together a guide real quick (hope this helps)
To do this, you will need:
TWRP (This is a special version only for the Sprint SM-G920P and is meant to be flashed with Odin)
SuperSU 2.68
Odin
Steps)
1) Boot your device into download/odin mode (adb reboot download) or (while the device is off hold home+power+volume down then you will be taken to a light blueish screen saying "Warning", just press volume up)
2) Once your device is in download/odin mode, plug it into your windows PC and open Odin then in odin, click the "AP" button then find where you downloaded the TWRP .tar and press start
3) After that, your device should reboot into the system, if present use "adb reboot recovery" if you don't have adb, turn the device off and hold home+power+volume up and your should get some red text in the upper left hand corner then you should be brought to TWRP where you can flash SuperSU (to get SuperSU onto your device, you can use TWRP's built in MTP function or use adb, I recommend using adb but TWRP's MTP is also good (to enable MTP, click on the "mount" button then make sure to tap the "Cache","Data" and "System" buttons, if your PC does not detect the device, tap "Disable MTP" then tap "Enable MTP". Then your device should be detected where you can then move SuperSU to your device and flash it,

Help
Same issue here. when recovery is booted. blue update screen then original recovery. OEM is on
---------- Post added at 05:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:39 AM ----------
im getting the blue updateing as well. then goes to original recovery/ OEM is on
unchecked the auto reboot and followed directions and am now rooted. Thanks!
This worked for me! Thank you so much!
A few modifications to the overall guide:
a. Turn on OEM unlock (I forgot to do this first)
2. Turn off auto-boot in ODIN (I needed to do this, as TWRP would not load the first time)
d. Move SuperSU zip folder to phone (same as other methods)
Now just need a good custom ROM...
I unchecked auto-boot in Odin and turned on OEM unlock, but it isn't working. I boot into download mode and apply the TWRP, but it is just stuck in download mode with the white bar at like 99% complete. It doesn't hit 100%. I forced my phone off and then booted into recovery right after and now my recovery mode is a white screen. Not really sure what to do.

Hey Guys Im Back! Thank you for the support and how it blew up. I have tested this on Android 10 UI 2.0 and it works better then ever!
Also installed lineage os : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a10/development/rom-lineage-os-a10-a105f-t4078093
So i tried using afaneh92's tutorial which will be linked here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a10/how-to/magisk-root-galaxy-a10-series-t3963822
Which lead to me bootlooping or softbricking and my storage was reduced from 32 gb to 16Gb so i decided to work on my own method!
Credits go to afaneh92 for the Twrp!
BEFORE YOU START YOU SHOULD HAVE
1.Samsung Drivers installed
2.Odin Installed
3.7zip Installed
4.A data transfer cable
5.A Proper working brain
If you have all of those lets start!
A: Phone settings
1.Go in settings>about phone>software information>build number tap that 5 times until it says "You are a developer now" then you will have Developer options unlocked
2.Then go in developer functions and find OEM unlocking tick that on scroll down until you see Usb Debugging and tick that also Disable Auto Updates option
B: Download TWRP and 2 other important files
1.Dial *#1234# and it will show the AP and some others, focus on AP paste it on google and get the download for it
2.After downloaded move the AP to your download folder in your android device
3.You will get a magisk_patched.tar after its been offically converted
4.Get the twrp for a10
Download the twrp file here : https://mega.nz/#!OU1WhSDZ!vQz5K1wpqBhg0hCD59aziaHPxFlUsT_2WG8SgT8p6iY
5.After you got everything open the .tar archive and extract vbmeta.img, boot.img and you should already have recovery.img on your Desktop
6.Grab all the 3 .img files and archive them into a .tar using 7zip, Now continue to step C,
C :Unlocking The Bootloader and Getting Into Download Mode (THE PART WHERE YOU RESET YOUR PHONE)
1.Turn Off your phone
1.2.Put your data cable into your PC(dont connect your phone to it yet)
1.3.Hold Volume Up and Down then insert the cable into your phone
1.4.When you see a bluescreen let go
1.5.Hold vol up until you see another screen then let go for 1 second and hold vol up again
2.Your device will reset itself and reboot
2.1.After the device has booted in into the setup take the cable out after Turn off your phone
2.2.Hold Vol Up and Down again and connect the cable
2.3.Let go when a blue screen appears then press vol up until you are in download mode
D: Flashing TWRP
1.Open Odin
2.Press on AP then find Desktop.tar and press open
3.Press start and let it do its thing
4.After your Phone has rebooted you oficially have TWRP installed
5.If you want to know hoe to root go to step E
E: Installing Magisk
Since magisk is counted as the best rooting option rn i will be using it in this tutorial(Sorry supersu fans)
1.Install Magisk Manager
2.Press on Install (first one) then press install again and after that press Install Zip Only
3.Then go into Twrp by doing the steps below
3.1.Turn off your device
3.2.Hold vol up and power button untill you see TWRP logo
4.Press install
4.1.Find magisk-v20.4(20400).zip
4.2Swipe right on the bottom to flash it then press reboot system now.
5.Now you have TWRP,Root and Magisk Congratulations!
What happens if something goes wrong.
1.SV Error Device 1 library 0 - You installed the wrong firmware look for the right firmware. To check go in recovery mode and look at the A105XXXXXX and then look for a download. Remider AP->AP BL->BL CP->CP HOME_CSC->CSC
2.vbmeta.img error - you have the wrong vbmeta.img file. Redownload the original firmware and take out the right vbmeta.img next time you try flashing. Reminder AP->AP BL->BL CP->CP HOME_CSC->CSC
3.A blue screen telling you to use samsung switch emergency update. That wont work so just flash the original firmware and try flashing twrp again.
4.When i try to boot in it gets me into TWRP - Thats just because that your data is corrupted and to fix it while in TWRP mode press wipe then swipe after its done press Reboot To System. That should be a fix
5.My internal storage is just full of weird numbers and I can't download anything on it! Go in TWRP then wipe, press advanced wipe, click on internal storage and data, swipe. That should fix the error
6.Boootlooping or Bricked! Installed corrupted firmware or the recovery was f-ed up. Then install the right firmware and redo the steps!
If you have issues during the process send it in the comment ill try to respond as fast as i can!
i notice thread title says exynos only.. u do know they are all exynos including a102u and a102u1 right?
Oh. Alright thanks for telling me.
Press on app? I have nothing in odin saying that, do you mean ap?
Edit: guess not....i'm bricked, stuck on galaxy logo, device not recognized by pc, holoding power button wont force reboot, nothing lol.
Edit2: can force reboot holding volume down and power but instantly stuck on logo again, cannot power off or enter download, nothing...bricked. Followed this guide to the letter. I assumed when you said app in odin you meant ap since there is no app button. My bootloader unlocked then I went to flash in odin the tar i made with patched boot and vbmeta, along with recovery linked. I used matching firmware to what my A10 has also. Would not mind if i could get back into download mode, but that looks impossible now.
Edit3: Managed to get download mode but had to be so quick...hopefully I can reflash stock now.

Then install the right firmware and redo the steps!

have you fixed the storage reduced to 16gb problem?
I have a Samsung galaxy sm-a10. I've tried everything here, even combination files. The error I ALWAYS get is 'failed flashing ROM... OEM lock'
Of course I have unlocked OEM in developer options, but still I get this error in the bootloader.
Any ideas?
