TripNDroid PRO kernels for the HTC Endeavoru
In this topic you find a TripNDroid kernel based on the Linux mainline kernel. The kernels will always be under development. There will be dev and release kernels uploaded along the way.
The main goal is to provide always (almost) the latest Linux kernel that is available. For now the kernel is based on Linux 3.6.8 and will be updated to Linux 3.7.x.
Features:
- Linux mainline kernel
- Only the core Android patches added
- Linux default wifi drivers (new. modified firmware included)
- Jelly Bean kernel
- Default memory adressing
- Stock device registration
- PM QOS patched to Linux mainline
- Fast...
Since version 006 there are 2 versions;
- kernel D
default kernel to use on any aosp rom that is currently available, dont flash this on tripndroid roms that have unified hboot support
- kernel T
tripndroid kernel for use -only- with tripndroid roms that have unified hboot support, dont flash this one on other aosp roms!

Kernel T:

First for testing your kernel on aokp.
Sent with my HOX using IceColdJelly

i have some questions i thats ok.
is uv or uc possible?
how is the battery life?

It works without repacking on ICJ. Is it better to repack it?

Congrats on all your hard work Trip, I will test tomorrow. As I'm an hboot 1.28 user, I'll need to repack.

Nice one will try tomorrow thanks
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

So I can say it is smooth and f...... fast. I use it with ondemand.

No UV and OC implemented for now, battery life was good for the amount of time i had the various beta's installed. Yesterday after a night sleep and a whole day at work i had 82% left.

I find it more responsive with interactive tough, but that could also be subjective as i like to use the "standards"

Okay Trip I use it without repacking. Changing now to interactive. The temp from my HOX are very low. Great work Trip.

thx, sorry reached my limit, would have hit the button if i could.
for now i need repack on Domination to get hwa,but in next release this should worked out so no repack needed anymore, just flashed the kernel and will checl it now

Also Trip might we see a new update for your ROM?

small update, wifi doesnt turn on with repacked kernel on Domination, will try without repack now
EDIT:cool without repack wifi works,as well as hwa, nice

Heads up for anyone on hboot 1.23/1.28, kernel doesn't work correctly with repacking, it breaks WiFi.
edit: See post below for Trips explanation.

The problem with my kernels is that i always want to use latest and default drivers that arent compatible with endeavoru by default. In various cases it requires ramdisk edits and those can break with a repack.
If you manually repack you need to take the wifi stuff from my ramdisk into the new one. Then it will work. Also make sure to flash the included firmware.

Sadly I have no idea how to manually repack, but thanks for explanation :good:
I will cross my fingers all these JB issues with HTCs latest hboots is resolved when the final RUU hits.

As Trip said above you need to manually repack so you can include his WiFi driver ramdisk tweaks with mdeejays 1.23/1.28 JB ramdisk. The online repacker just swaps ramdisks as is.
Anyway I won't clog up this topic any more, everyone now knows 1.23/1.28 incompatibility.

Device gets a bit too warm(45°C) for my liking with normal use. First time in weeks the hox feels awkward in hands again.
Performance is great, battery drains fast but it's way too early to judge that

previous kernel did boot sense 4+, but with issues, maybe this one will finally allow the cid-screwed people to taste JB..thanks!

well, hard to say... from what read the nVidia chips are not that great for overclocking... also we need to understand that this device has 4 cores (+one companion core + GPU cores)... so the thermal cap is already low and the chips may not be tolerant to high OC...
lets see, till i get the kernel sources in hand, i cant say how much i can push this chip...

Chip runs smooth CPU wise.
The GPU is not much better at the moment than the Adreno 220 in my SensationXE.
But i`m a bit concerned in the Heat development.
The thing heats up around the camera area when stressed.
And when u need to make a call......, It`s getting hot around the ears.
But hey that`s the price we pay for power....

- Blinking leds
- Mass Storage and MTP supported
- Proper pinmux config (overrides hboot config)
Changelog 002:

- Update usb drivers
- Fix wifi errors
- Updated pinmux
- Update bluetooth drivers
- Update sound drivers
- Small changes
Changelog 002:
- Fix front camera
- Improve performance

Working:
Everything, but limited to stuff i tested;
- Audio (incl. headphone)
- Wifi
- Bluetooth (on/off tested)
- Wifi hotspot
- USB (both mtp+ums)
- HDMI
Still working on the OP this will be updated/changed the upcoming days with more info and a nice layout.
This kernel can only be used on HTC Sense roms, or any rom (MIUI) based on HTC Sense stock roms. Keep in mind that this kernel is intended for JellyBean roms, so not guarenteed to work on ICS Sense (based) roms.
Installation package installs modules and proper firmware for wifi. It doesnt touch the original firmware. You can always revert to stock kernel.
Now also HTC Sense users have the abillity of running a custom kernel without having to wait for HTC to release the sources.
DONT REPACK THIS KERNEL, IT WILL GIVE SOME REALLY NASTY ISSUES

It could be due to the fact that viper is heavily modded and might not work well with the kernel, but you might be right. We'll have to see if others are facing issues like these.
Thanks Trip for the Terga3 ref. kernel. Awesome!
Just some thoughts on this v001 release:
- I'm getting very high battery temps, all the time. Even while just being idle and calling.
- WiFi device won't turn on when you first put it off. It gives "Error".
Tested on ARHD 18.0 Sense with HBOOT 1.39, kernel not repacked.

You just changed TripNDroid to Hox Plus... and offcourse i want to see it gone. I spend quite to some time to find a unique name that also sounds nice and isnt use anywhere.
If you look at youre sig its quite obvious you had the "inspiration" from the name above it. I tought that atleast you would respect that

Currently trying to get a new HOX with people from here, so if that works out i'm still developing for this phone.
Otherwise i'm quiting cause with this phone its to damn hard lol
Everything works except for bluetooth, which still needs a reboot or two to turn on. Also, the notification lights don't activate unless they were already on when charging, so I don't get notification LEDs when I'm running on battery.

Okay.. I thought as a suffix to the main name that it wouldn't really matter. I like consistency? I'll change the domain the next chance I get and remove references on the site. It was never meant to annoy you in any way. I have huge respect for what you do. It was never meant to be an inspired name. I simply thought that you'd summed it up perfectly.
Edit: Purchased an alternate domain name. I'll change the DNS as soon as it's all set up

Can we see this as an update to the Black Pearl ROM or is it different? Do you use it with a specific kernel?

It's completely different like Tweak, performance etc.
Do you use it with a specific kernel? I see n3okernel in the screenshots? is it included?
Downloading now , thanks ShyamSasi .
Installed it just now.. If I want to use XM kernel 188v4, should I repack? It runs without repacking, but I mean, do I lose any functionality if i do not repack (battery optimizations and stuff)?

I haven't done any RAMDisk optimization. I'm using Shiz's RAMDisk. So it's recommended to repack. Most the optimization is system level.

[KERNEL][TW]NexTkernel: minimalistic kernel v1.0 [LINARO]

NexT kernel is not for everyone. My philosophy is to keep the kernel footprint as small as possible by trimming as much fat as possible, and at the same time keeping it stable, power efficient, and fast. You will find that it's lacking some of the bells and whistles of other custom kernels, so if you like features you came to the wrong thread.
DOWNLOAD: (Flash in recovery)
For touchwiz 4.4 roms only
All downloads can be found here, grab the latest one (check the latest month folder)
Wait for the download to start automatically
http://cnexus.co/downloads/?device=NexT&folder=d2spr
Features:
Updated to latest upstream Linux version (3.4.94)
Kernel modules trimmed and optimized
Compiled with latest linaro 4.7.4 optimized for cortex-A9 processors
Entropy (random number generation) tweaks
optimized kernel functions
fat trimmed and many other performance tweaks
fastcharge support included
faux sound control included
many other optimizations from CAF and upstream linux kernel
...and much much more coming soon

ooooooooooo excited for this
Will this kernel have color temp control (similar to infinitycolor or dkp's kernel where you can adjust via trickster mod?
Cool! Thanks for working on July 4th. Go eat some BBQ!
@CNexus - this kernel doesn't want to work for me on Validus or Liquid Smooth or AICP (so far) :crying: ... but I'm gonna keep trying ...

VM SIII - jdsingle76's deodexed 4.4.2 NDC
philz recovery/stock kernel ?
Thanks CNexus!
Have it up and running with Wicked X.
No boot-up issues, running smooth so far, will let it settle in now for a few days and see how it performs.
Once again thank you for your hard work and efforts and for sharing it with us...cbrox

Running good so far. The first time I flashed it on Wicked-X, I forgot to wipe Dalvik and Cache. An updated version of YouTube kept crashing as soon as I rebooted. After the wipe, no problems.
Oh New toy. Me like.

Nice work man :good: :good: :good:
Thanks @CNexus! Good news. For those of us who experience the issue on Ktoonsez' KT747 kernel that every third time inserting an OTG device (and leaving it in long enough to use) results in a spontaneous reboot, this issue doesn't appear to exist on this kernel.
I still have to do this in my normal, every day way (listening to music on my SanDisk Voyager Go 64GB with MicroUSB built in) three times without any kind of reboot in between to verify this.
Edit: I haven't reported this to Ktoonsez yet because I wanted to be as sure as possible that the problem's on the kernel - that and I don't know if it's worth reporting such a relatively trivial issue and Ktoonsez doesn't appear to plan on working on ND8 /NDC kernels any more.

I downloaded twice and the MD5 didn't match what was shown on the download page. Both downloads calculated out to the same checksum.
