[Audio Theme]Linda Sound Mod S3 - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Arch Energy Productions brings you
Project Linda Mod
Included Linda Voice files: Calendar, Email, Instant Message, Messages, Voicemail, Weather, Xda, Ringtone, Charger Connected, Lock, Power off, TW Error, TW Low Battery, TW Unlock, Unlock.
What is Project Linda? It is audio files of a female robotic voice announcing various actions on your S3. I used it on my Vibrant a couple of years ago and thought others might enjoy it. It is also in a Rom I put together, Gigajoule.
To get rid of the Linda Mod for the UI, flash your current Rom, with no wiping.
Just flash through your favorite recovery, It will work on any rom, just has some TouchWiz specific sounds that if not needed will be ignored.
Hit the thanks if you like it!

Anybody like?

I gave it a try but don't notice anything different. Do I need to enable something?

You will have some messaging and ringtone sounds that you can select, You should also have a couple system sounds in a ladies robotic voice. Like lock and unlock

The "power off" is hilarious. Thanks

venal,
woudl you think I could just push the original sounds back as a CWM flashable if linda and I have a falling apart? Form the looks, thats all that the mod really is. just pushes these into the appropriate folders.

yeah that is all it does

Thanks man. I just wanted to make sure. I like the sounds, but didnt want to have to re-flash so I just broke them out and re-named my UI before copying over. saved the rest in my other media files I keep so I have a chit ton of ringers.

Hey thanks a lot for your efforts.
When you say open up a ROM, do you mean this package can only be installed into a new ROM before being flashed?

Before flashing you can add it into the ROM yes.
Or you can just flash it.
So I tried to just take out the gallery and contacts apk's and install them on the device. The gallery worked fine but the contacts says "there's already a package with the same name already exists" or something similar.
If do this by flashing the zip will it overwrite the existing do you think?
Thanks again

What I was saying is.
Delete the same names .apk's in the /system/app folder.
Then just drag and drop the following /apps in my folder into the ROM then flash the ROM.
Aha, got ya. My only worry with flashing is losing what I've done so far as it's taken ages to customise all the sounds, icon positions etc. It's currently in a state of pure zen
Something tells me though, you're about to say "use <some tool> to back up first". in which case, will it remember where all my launcher folders, icons and sounds?

I'm not sure on that one haha.
Well thanks anyways, I now have the standard gallery. Only the contacts/dialler remain. Which actually isn't too bad, except the way the Favourites and Contacts tabs swap position when you click on Contacts. What idiot did that!!

Ah!
When I get the phone I'll be working on a pure AOSP clone.
That would be fab, though there are some really nice things about this ROM, which I'm hoping will be installable since Samsung released the source of the ROM. The things I'd like to keep are:
Water unlock and quick shortcuts to phone/camera/browser
Smart alert - phone vibrates when you pick it up if you have notifications
Smart stay - tries to detect eyes just before screen timeout to keep screen on
Turn over to mute/pause (when someone rings or playing music)
Direct Call - Move phone to ear when on sms/contact and it auto dials
Power control in the notifications (better than any I've seen)
Power saving mode (toggles cpu/haptic/etc)
Scan with side of hand to take screen shot
Anyways, look forward to you getting one, both for your sake and mine
I'll be keeping the Stock Samsung ROM w/ AOSP look/apps.
thanks for this. is it possible to get the stock dialer?

Did you remove the other types?
Like I said earlier in the OP?
Great work mate!!
I didn't install via recovery but renaming the Samsung apps with a .bak extension and rebooting gave me the standard apps.
The apps you provided are already in /system/apps but you need to get rid of the Samsung ones first (as you said) in order to activate them.
Only thing I'm missing is the phone application would be great if you could upload that??

[AUDIO THEME]WindowsPhone Sounds V.2

Hi all,
I was bored of annoying TouchWiz sounds, so I decided to replace them with some from Windows Phone that, IMHO, are better!
Simply flash the zip file with your Custom Recovery
Code:
Sounds replaced:
Charger_Connection
KeypressDelete
KeypressReturn
KeypressSpacebar
KeypressStandard
Lock
PowerOn
S_HW_Touch
TW_Low_Battery
TW_Touch
TW_Unlock
TW_Unlock_Puzzle
TW_Unlock_Glass
TW_Volume_contol
Unlock
To enjoy unlock sound, remove Ripple effect in Settings>Lock Screen>Lock screen options.
It could work on any device, better if with TouchWiz!
If you want to come back to stock sounds you find another zip attached!
Changelog
V.2
Fix LowBattery sound name
Many thanks to Venal_System for the idea!
thanks, worked perfectly!
Thanks a lot.....
but what if I want to restore the original sounds?
Could please provide us another file with the original sounds, so we can restore it if we want?

[mod] Misc system sound mods

I made a post on a Portal audio mod for the S-Pen and thought I would search and find some sweet sounds for different system sounds. Use a Root Browser (I used Rom Toolbox) to move them into:
System
Media
Audio
Ui
You must be rooted and have the permissions set to rw- r-- r-- on the sound files.
I will update and post new mods as I find them. Please feel free to post your mods or make suggestions.
Here is the post of my Portal S-Pen sound mod.
chuko303 has kindly shared a few very good sound mods in this post as well. Please check them out if you like the system sounds mods.

Also if anyone forgets to make a backup of the stock audio files, I have one and can upload it for whomever needs it.
[mod] Misc system sounds
Here is a low battery file that I haven't yet heard yet due to the awesome battery our phone has. It is the Pac-Man death sound we all know well.
My phone finally got down to 15% batter last night and personally I think the Pac-Man sound is f'ing sweet for the low battery sound.
Here is the like for it

This next one is a real good one for you Metal Gear Solid fans. It includes the codec open and close files for the S-Pen and the alert sound for the battery low tone.

Archer themed sound mod
If anyone is a fan of the animated show Archer then you will love this mod pack that I am working on. I currently have multiple mods for different actions but I am not quite finished yet. Below is what I have so far.
S-Pen Detach 1 - Archer "Wait I had something for this."
S-Pen Attach 1 - Archer "Damn, I had something for this."
S-Pen Detach 2 - Kreiger "Aww, pigly."
S-Pen Attach 2 - Kreiger "Aww, goatly."
Power Off - Archer "Pam, I will end you."
Power On -Archer "Don't you see me rocking this hard slab of chiseled man body?"
Message Alert - Dr. Kreiger "Zing"
Low Battery - Archer "Danger zone"
Charger Connection - Archer "Just the tip!"

* I will upload an updated zip as I make changes. *
These are awesome thanks for your time in making these.
Doing something wrong?
scratch the following. I moved them, set the permissions, deleted the noti2 files and renamed the new ones to replace them. they then showed up in the spen notification selector in settings.
I'm fairly new at all of this modding, but getting better at it I think. I copied the files over and extracted them, moved them to the system/media/audio/ui folder, replaced the files, and set permissions on the files to rw-r--r-- but it's still not making the sound when I attach and detach the pen. I can even select the files from the ui folder and play the sounds, so I know the sound is there. Is there something I'm not doing or should be doing? Any help would be really appreciated.

[MOD]Touch Sounds - Updated with AOKP Touch/Lock/Unlock and Blackberry Storm click

I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but after owning the GS3 and the Note 2, I've gotten awfully tired of the water drop sound when touching anything on the phone.
I changed my screen click sound to the CM10 touch sound and the soft buttons to a different sound pulled from the samsung rom (kind of a softer click). Both are much more suitable for me.
Just thought I'd make it a little easier for anyone else like me.
This is not flashable. Must be rooted. Download zip and extract 2 files. You need to use a file manager and paste these in the /system/media/audio/ui folder, then fix the permissions and reboot. Good habit to back up original sounds.
Should work on any GS3 and Note 2 stock based roms.
3-5-13 Fixed. New zip has AOKP touch sound, and lock/unlock sounds.

I'm trying to get an outgoing mail sound(swoosh), on my unrooted SGSIII. Would your method work for me, if i downloaded a file manager? I have the sound that i want in my notifications folder, but there's no place to put it, in order for it to work. It's the sound that you would hear, when you send out a text or email, from an iPhone. Thanks for any help that you can give me.
Sorry, you need to be rooted. I used to use ChompSMS instead of the stock app. I believe it uses the same sound when you send. It used to at least.
yeeeeeeaah!!! you read my mind!! i was so tired and wating for someone to do this!! you rthe best thaaanks a lot!!

[MOD] Sound Pack - System UI and Options

I have had issues from time to time adding custom sounds to my devices, and doing it quickly. I made this flashable sound pack long ago and decided to share it
Instructions:
Download zip and place on phone
Reboot into Recovery
Flash like a rom and reboot
Go to settings
Device
Sound
Select ringtone or notifications and scroll away!
Sound Pack:
I tried to pick sounds and ringtones that are semi-professional, I avoided immature sounds and noises (no farts, expletives, or stupid voices). There is a Scary SMS notification, that I used to freak my girlfriend out. GTA 5 fans may like the El Sondidito ringtone.... Saints Row 4 fans may enjoy Birdmachine one as well. This will not replace any sounds you have on your phone unless they share the same name. MediaServer will not scan the files either so there should be no impact on the battery. Anyways have fun!
System UI
I don't like Samsungs wet or "drippy" touchwiz sounds so I tried to pick more solid, modern sounds to replace them.
Changelog 09/24/2015 (V2):
Code:
(Ultimate Sound Pack)
[LIST]
Re-tagged Almost ALL the files to reflect their names better (no more Microsoft Designs)
Added 74 Ringtones
Removed over 100 notification tones, of duplicates and just bad notifications
Reduced the file size by almost 100 megabytes.

Thanks so much for this - the drip sound was driving me freaking nuts.
If you have a few spare minutes would there be any chance that you could bundle the straight AOSP 4.4.2 System UI sounds? Not the ringtones and stuff. I have been wracking my brain for a couple hours trying to figure out how to change that damned drip - ugh.
Thanks!!!

The system sounds are found throughout the phone. Most are found on root storage/system/media/audio/ui. Some are found in random places and addresses specific TW apps for example, I had to put the dialer sounds here: mode/system/app/SecContacts.apk/res/raw/ and modifiy the APK.
I had a bad upload or something recently and I am going back to update everything and put stock sounds to where you requested.
