D*mn, I need a family member @ T-Mobile!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

Used a family member's employee discount, $0 + tax on the full price (I think), no contract

I paid $471.91 after tax with a 2 year contract extension! Freaking Bay Area prices are outrageous. Then I get a $50 mail in rebate, which will knock it down to $421.91. Absurd I tells ya! Why is there such a huge price difference between one store and another?

You live in a state that charges tax on retail. Only 2 other states do the same. Everyone else gets tax on what is paid. Hawaii may be the 4th state to do this. So far we have been lucky, but not sure for how long.

I got the unlocked marble white from handtec for about 750$ when they first had it in stock, and the Titanium Gray from t-mobile at retail price + tax for 700$ Titanium gray is my favorite

wat. adopt me maybe? lol

you've gotta try those damn tmobile reps one at a time until one gives in.
the first rep i spoke with, she was willing to offer me buy 1 get the second free and i said no.
then the next day i called again and this time the rep gave it to me for 47.99 for 1 and i took it. then she said i have to pay $77. i said taxes are not that high, but she said they have to charge taxes on the full price of the phone. i thought about it and took it anyway. i think i got the price cause she said i had $250 phone credit since i was eligible for an upgrade.

I went to the T-Mobile website that was linked in the article and found that this is not really a good deal. This is advertised for new customers.
You have to pay $200 down on the sgs 2 and pay $20 over 20 months with a value unlimited plan. That is $600 then you mail in the $150 rebate card bringing the total to $450.
I'd rather pay $188 for an upgrade. But I am gonna try calling customer service again and see if I can get it for cheaper first.

Only bad thing is that Best Buy doesn't carry T-Mo phones in stock anymore. So, T-Mo has to ship it to you. They said it should be here by Wednesday

Why is the Tmobile version so much more???

I bought the phone the day after it came out but the total out the door was just short of $400. Then I would have gotten the $50 rebate.
I have a tmobile my touch 4g slide and it is a pretty good phone. I just couldn't justify $350 net so I returned it and paid the $50 restocking fee.
I got really ticked off when a co worker told me he got his from Sprint for $200. Then, a couple of days later, he told me that the cost was $100.

Probably the chip to support hspa+ 72 made it cost more than the lte models.
I think it's just T-Mobile's pricing structure. With my now-gone New Every Two discount on Verizon, I paid $130 with a new two-year contract for my white 16GB Galaxy S3.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I believe it's a mix of T-Mobile having cheaper plans for voice/text/data and also it could be the fact that the phone uses HSPA+.
I got mine on June 21st so I can't complain. Plus I have nothing but excellent contact with T-Mobile and excellent cell/data service.

$199.99 Galaxy Note 2....$174.99 (or more) if you work for it!

Basically Wirefly has the gn2 for $249.99 and Bank of America gives you $50 back through their Add-It Up program. I also got $25 credit from Sprint.
So my breakdown is like this: $249.99 - $25 (sprint loyalty) - $50 (BofA add-it up via Wirefly) = $174.99 + tax (I also paid $7.99 for faster shipping)
You're mileage may vary with Sprint...maybe more.
Hit Thanks if this helps....

Me too--so I cancelled the Best buy order, more for the principle of their lofty sounding price match policy than for the money.
I have had plenty of success swapping my wifefly phones. Where you run into to trouble is when you try to cancel the line thinking the only ETF you'll be paying is Sprint. I believe wirefly has their own ETF ontop of the one paid to Sprint and both will be charged to you in the event of a cancel or downsizing your plan to one that doesn't work with the promotion that they offered you.

Yeah I can't really argue that possibility. It was a middle aged lady who had me come into her office at work to get the phone and had a whole legit story for why she was selling it. Usually the janky ones want to meet in a Lowes parking lot at like 11pm and they roll up on a lowrider bicycle so I felt confident enough to go through with it.

I paid no down payment, only the "sales tax", which came out to around $60. My monthly bill, which includes Unlimited Everything, JUMP, and the $25 EIP, is now going to be $108/month. Not too bad. Before I switched to the new no-contract plan, I was paying $109/mo for my old classic plan, which only included 2gb of data & 1000 minutes & unlimited txt.
So the way I see it, I'm paying $108/mo for unlimited everything and the ability to trade in my phone for a newer phone every 6 months. Which is probably the best plan I've ever had.
Paid $582 outright (no tax+ shipping) thru overseaselectronics.com. Wanted to keep my $30 prepaid plan.
