[Q] What Happened to Tasks? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Am I a 'tard or what? On my SGSIII I had the option to put a task widget on a home screen to display sync'd tasks. I cannot seem to find that here...am I just not seeing it?

if you click and hold the home button to open recently used apps there is an icon on the lower left side that looks like a pie chart. I too love the task menu so i had to find it

Interesting...but not the tasks I was after. I am looking for the outlook tasks. I sync with exchange, and the tasks are set to sync...just no way to display

I can see them by selecting tasks under select calendars. My problem is that they are not syncing with exchange. So if I enter tasks on my phone, they don't show up on my pc and vice versa...they need to fix this bug.

Yes, you have to manually sync. The Note 1 was the same way. Menu....sync every once in awhile.

Calander Notifications

So i am using the go widgets calander, was previously using jorte on my mytouch4g. i am used to being able to setup a default notification time for any appointment i put in my calanader (ex: 15 minutes.) However i noticed i didnt get any notification today for 3 things. upon further review you only get notifications if you go and set them manually for each event when added. i searched all around the phone for a spot to adjust this so i can go back to normal of just throwing a quick start time for my appointments and go. no luck. anyone else having this issue? anyone got any advice?

I've been wondering why Samsung didn't put this option in also. I miss notifications sometimes and then I realize I never set a reminder to go off. That's the one thing I miss about htc's calendar. Just have to program myself to remember to add the reminder.

[Q] Gmail not background sync'ing all the time?

I'm running Calkulin's E4GT v2.5, and have noticed that gmail is not background sync'ing and alerting like it used to ( no idea how long its been not doing it ). I made sure background data and auto-sync are on, but it seems gmail only 'sync's when i hit the power button to check to see why i havent gotten any notifications.. then within a second or two, it does the notification thing.
Any idea how I might fix this?

Any way to make continous calendar alerts?

On my old palm pre if I did not respond to a calendar alert it would repeat every 5 minutes until I cleared it. On this phone if I'm busy and I forget to check my alert It does not notify me again.

Not sure about the stock calendar app, but I would highly recommend Business Calendar from the Marketplace for a couple bucks. It replaces the native calendar functionality, adds, much more customization, and syncs to google or any other calendar that the stock calendar can sync to.
...And perhaps most importantly, yes, not only do you get recurring alerts for meetings, but you can also configure how many it will send, (up to 50), how much time between each reminder, what sound to use, and even configure a delay between alarms when you 'snooze' that can be e.g., 5 minutes if you hit snooze quickly, or 20 minutes if you long-press snooze.
(See screen shot from one of the config pages below)

I use Calendar Snooze. Not only does it give you repeating alarms based off the stock calendar but as it's name says, it allows you to snooze the appointment for the times you get caught off guard but need a remind again say 5 minutes before the event. Another nice option is it will read out loud your appointment and location.
Very customizable and works seamlessly with the stock calendar.

[Q] Disable Alarm & notifications on calendar

Hi, I don't know how I did it but it was long ago and now I can't revers it. Every time I create an event on my calendar, it creates automatically an alarm and a notification on the screen for a certain time. How can I disable that?

Just logon to your account from a browser and go to settings to change default.

Unable to Shut Off Default Calendar Notifications

OK, this is a bit minor, but it is really bugging me. I use Business Calendar Pro for my calendar. I turn on notification with Business Calendar, and then turn them off in the Android calendar. That way I won't get two notifications. This has worked with the past three HTC phones.
The problem is that no matter what I do, I can't get the built in calendar to stop posting reminders. Every time a reminder goes off, I get two notifications. I've gone into the default calendar app and made sure the notifications are off, but when I get a reminder, it appears that the setting gets turned back on. This is not one of the apps that can be disabled either.
I've also gone in and deselected all calendars from the app, so that it should not in theory contain any appointments anyway.
I'm not rooted, but I'm hoping someone else has had this and found an answer.
