You have to replace "welcomhead.192.png" in \Windows
Image must have 640x640 pixels and same name (of course)

But, how would you take a screen shot of the boot screen ?
its perfect.... just replace the png file with anythink you want ....

What do you mean by "2nd bootsplash image"? Is Windows Mobile Logo?

No way!
Take a photo, or post 'welcomhead.192.png' file (for 2nd bootsplash)
The first one is also possible to backup fro device with the proper tools.
What are the possibilities with this program? Could somebody post screenshots of this program?

I think It's not a program. It means the .gif animation file (animated.gif) for PPC when the windows mobile is loading. This is the HTC default gif animation file you can put it in the WINDOWS folder

This a link where you can download the cab file. It's described as a gif player. And it's ripped from a htc device.
I only want to know what you can do with it. Ofcourse to play gif-files, but is it for example possible to put a animated gif-file as your wallpaper on the today screen? Why would you need this gif player?

I did put it in my windows forlder but nothing changed : first the white HTC initial screen, then the blue and green Windows Mobile screen. I didn't see any animation ?...
i would like to know as well guys....i have it installed and not sure what it is used for.

It will not speed up your boot. Your device is not timing out when displaying the splash screen (pretty much like desktop PCs), it strives and sweats to load all the files to start the OS to please it's owner
Hello i have flashed my rom from bepe 0.79 to Audison WM 6.1 v3.0 F.
My Problem is that at the startup is the bepe logo.
Had i a bad flash or is this normaly?

This is normal, what you need to do is use ROMDONALDS kitchen, and extract the nbf file, then you will have 3 files OS.nbf (or similar), main splash and sub splash, use any sub and main splash you want from any rom (or do your own in 06-Custom splash screen) and also dump the rom in 02-Dump, and change the welcomehead.96.png, sometimes this cannot be seen though and i have to use WinRAR to explore the contants of the dump, and replace it that way by creating a new welcomehead.96.png and adding it to a new rar extractable file, open it in winrar, and extract it to dump folder of the rom.
Guys I have seen cabs floating around to change the top bar icons - what I was after is a cab to change the startmenu icon to the HTC logo...
Done the usual search thing to no avail - be great if someone would package up a cab for me.
Bump. I want this too. Just want the HTC logo as start logo. Dont want to change the other top bar icons. Just start logo.

yaa that one i also looking for too...
to change the start logo you have to edit the same dll's as for (some) topbar icons (shellres.192.dll). And since guys who edit this one (me too) also change topbar icons, i'm afraid you've to do yourself if you want start icon only.

OK dudes. Here is JUST the htc logo with instructions :
1. Install Start Menu Certificates
2. Copy shellres.192.dll.0409.mui to your Windows folder.
*** The attached dll is for english version. If you have french for example you have to rename the dll to : shellres.192.dll.040C.mui. If you have other language and don't know your code just do a search in windows folder for some .mui files and see their code.
- code for french : 040C
- code for en : 0409
Be sure to backup if you need to replace the .mui file.

just in case we want to revert back to the original icon do we just delete this replaced dll file and soft reset so the orginal rom file shows up?

after copying the .mui file, your signal strenght icon is also replaced with what ?
kinda hard to believe.
Hard to believe? I followed the instructions (installed start menu certificates, copied the mui file), and the result is:
it's a left over from a previos installed "coloredtopbar" or smtg. i've never installed one of those, and i don't have this problem.
