Honda civic and note 2 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I read the Android 4.1 supports audio out thru usb, but I can't get it to work on my Honda civic, does anyone know how to set it up, it works fine with the ipod/iphone I even get albums covers on my dash, I would just like the music to play, don't really like aux cable for music only but I would do it if I really have to, thanks for the help

I am finding it needs to be a certain type of cable. Not certain of the particulars tho. I had an S3 and the iBolt car mount came with the right cable. Tis the only one I have found that works so far.

Thanks for the info I didn't know that, hopefully they make a dock for it or you think I can get the one for gs3 and use the cable only?

Bluetooth to 3.5mm aux jack

Has anyone here tried to use Bluetooth on their phone to stream music to their car's AUX jack via something like this.
amazon.com/Miccus-BluBridge-mini-jack-Rx-Bluetooth/dp/B0038MA11U/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1292165899&sr=1-2
Add in w w w. before amazon. Sorry can't post links yet
Seems like it will do what I want. Just wondering if anyone has tried this with hopefully a cheaper device.
I was wondering a similar thing, as I saw a Belkin adapter which I think is similar at the Apple store: http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F8Z492...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1292170918&sr=1-1
Kensington LiquidAUX
I use a bluetooth Kensington LiquidAUX. It works great.
I have 2 blackberry stereo gateways, one in the car and one in the house. It works great. Actually works better than it did with my blackberry for range in the house.
The blackberry gateway looks like a good deal. I think I might give that a go.
Thanks for the replies!

Find it here:

Forgot to mention that it has a remote control that you can strap to your steering wheel and change songs or answer calls with.
Yeah it works really good for me!

not a bad idea
I have a Kenwood DNX-9140 head unit in the car which has built-in bluetooth for both phone and audio. I use the audio portion quite a bit. I can stream audio files as well as internet radio that way. Works great.
Sorry I can't help .. I use a 3.5 to cassette adapter

Have you thought of using this ?
I have one on order..
http://cgi.ebay.com/3-5mm-Male-M-Stereo-Audio-Adapter-Cable-3-5-mm-Mp3-4-/320620176442
before i got a new head unit, i was using bluetooth to a blackberry stereo gateway to tape adapter. it worked well, especially for what it was.
when it was made obsolete with my new had unit, i tried bringing it inside to hook up a stereo wirelessly. i used a $.01 wall -> usb power adapter that seemed to introduce some significant audio interference...to the point that it was unacceptable. so just be warned that you may want to be sure to have a "clean" mini usb power source.
other than that, i was happy with it.
I use my phone with bluetooth on my pioneer deck(forgot the model number) and it is awesome. But there is a few pros and cons.
With the win amp app I can just hop in my car wait for the phone to connect then press next on my cd deck and music starts to play ... awesome as well as use turn by turn gps while playing music through. Its very hands free but down side is I have had it lagg and it would skip a word in the song but that might be the rom I am using.

Dock or USB to charge and play music in car

Unless Im missing something, is there not a way to plug the S3 into the USB port on the radio and charge it and play music right through the USB like an iphone? When I had my iphone I could just plug it right into my stereo and it would charge and play music. When I tried the AUX on the iphone it did not sound half as good as when using USB directly, so I assume the S3 is the same and want to use the USB if at all possible in a dock would be great. Of all the things they claim Samsung "copied" the iphone on, this is the one they should have. Its the only thing I miss or like better about the iphone than the S3 so far...
At the moment my plan B is to get a dock to charge it and then have to get something like a Samsung HS3000 as well, but even with Apt-x I cant see this being as clear and loud as using the USB
This forum moves WAYYY too fast...
Android will have this in Jelly Bean (4.1)... Android Open Accessory Protocol 2.0 supports audio out.
Alternatively, there is a specific Galaxy S3 feature: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1754102 that works in car mode...
The OEM Infuse car dock will also do this too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669567
it will probably be possible awhile after jb realese
yup.. the infuse car dock does it

Yeah, I I've been using the infuse dock for the audio out, but at least for me, I get tons of engine noise.
I switched to using tune link over BT and that sounds really good.

Ya the infuse dock doesnt use true usb connection, I dont think its possible to do this at all yet is the issue. I also dont like that I would have to take the case off the phone to use the dock so its looking more like I will have to get a dock that will fit with case on, use regular charger, then just use BT and deal with it...I hope JB will let you use the USB like the iphone at some point. But maybe the new apt-x is better than I know as Ive not used it.

Audio aux in Saab doesn't connect with sgs3

Does anyone else drive a Saab? Are you having problems with your phone connecting to aux? It works if I unhook the cord real quick from the car and push play on the phone and hook it back in. Just wondering if anyone has a fix or an adapter? I know it's the Saab input for the aux, just trying to find a way around it.
Tried buying a new cable and that wasn't it. Found a thread on another website but no answers, just questions.

Yeah, I have the same problem. I tried adding more cable length to see if it would change the impedance, but nothing helped. I was able to find an app called Headset Router that allowed you to play a song, but after it finished, it would stop.
I am going to return the phone today for the HTC 1x
What is weird is it works in my truck.. it's a Saab issue.

Audio dock?

Hello everyone have any of you have any idea of a dock that has speakers?
Basically I want to charge my phone while having external speakers. Any good brand recommendations? Budget is around $100.
Don't care much about design but rather the audio quality.
Thanks in advance!

I posted a similar thread about 3 weeks ago, and have made no progress in my search. I've had no luck myself.

Soundfreaq Sound Kick. Its Bluetooth but has USB to charge your phone. It can even charge your phone when it isn't plugged in via its own rechargeable battery. Sound is terrific for a 99 dollar speaker. Its even well made.
Online or target of all places.

Yea man tough luck. Seems like a niche market, came from the Iphone and it seems that there are a lot of such alternatives on the Iphone and much less on the Samsung s3.

an alternative would be to buy a DAC and a docking station and then connect the dock to the DAC via micro usb in the docking station, but that would result in not charging the phone, and dont know if it would work with usb host trough the docking station
a nice way to do it would be buying a wireless charging kit, a bluetooth reciever or a bluetooth speaker, then using tasker (i dont know if this can be done as i dont use tasker) to automaticly connect to the bluetooth reciever or speaker, then you have a VERY nice way of listening to you music while charging
sorry for my bad english, hope you get the point

To connect to a DAC, you need the USB-OTG cable. There are a few on eBay that do include a third connection on the cable, specifically for charging.
Thanks for the suggestions. Shall search around for the USB-OTG cable. New to all these things though so shall need to search around the Internet a bit in order not to blast anything up haha.
Really helpful people here. Appreciate all of the replies given.

Google Qi charger car mount

Has anyone come up with a good way to mount the google wireless charger in the car? If you have post a picture and give me some ideas.
Also my car is old and only has a line in are there any good bluetooth audio interfaces I could use? It would be great to just stick the phone to the charger and not need to plug in anything.
You could try sugru....
There's a qi charger called Airdock that was a successful kick starter campain I own one and love it

I was thinking a mounting arm of some kind like the air dock uses. I saw the air dock and it's good to hear it works well. If I can't figure out something with this maybe I will get the air dock.
