I am coming from a HTC Evo 4g. I loved that phone but it was time to upgrade. I got my note 2 on release day and I absolutly love this phone!!!! The camera is much better than the Evos. The only thing im starting to wonder about it can i deal with the size of this phone for the next 2 years. I currently have a body glove on it, which doesnt add much bulk to it, but somtimes i feel like im going to drop the phone when im using it with one hand. I just cant seem to get a good grip on the phone when using one hand and I have large hands.

I actually find it too big- I figure if I am paying 299 for a phone then i better not have any doubts about it and the size is giving me doubts. I am prety sure i am going to return it this week and either get the lg nexus 4 or wait for that exynos 5250 samsung device coming out soon.

Seeing as how I already sold my old phone, ill be keeping this phone for at least 9 more days and ill see if I can live with it. If not ill most likely get the gs3

Why do you need to ask others if it's too big. Only you can answer that question. Everybody will have their own different opinions and in the end you'll still have to make up your own mind. Is it too big for you?
Another question comes to mind. When people buy skinny jeans to go with their iPhone, do they feel the need to poll the public if they look too tight? People who buy/wear skinny jeans should expect them to be tight. (I call them nut huggers... hence why people tend to wear them low). Anyways, if you buy a big phone its a big phone. simple. My gf has a big (.)(.) and a big ( ! ) but I knew that going into the relationship. Thats what I like so I went for i and I'm happy.
To wrap this up, only you can make that decision bro. You dont need to ask for others' opinions because we all have different taste and use our phones differently. This is why people should not just follow what other people think because you end up with a phone based on what others think whe. makingng your decision.. Thats the wrong way to decide. Personally I dont think its too big. it's supposed to be big for a reason. I'd keep it.

I haven't actually held a Note II yet, but do plan on going into a store here soon and playing with the demo and possibly purchasing it.... BUT I did mess around with a Note I and almost bought it until I caught wind of the GNII.... I can honestly say that phone seemed like it was built for my hands.

Listen bro all bs aside i had the sensation for a little didnt like it. Now this phone just demolishes it everything just works bro and if it dont then it is rare. And as far as screen goes some people have it worse then others but even when it is bad u cant see anything in normal use. I mean unless u turn tge lights out and throw on a dark grey background and look for little artifacts on the phone. U dont do that rite?? All amoled pluses have it to a degree and i do not see it Lol u will be fine dude trust me and that is a hell of a deal it should have been done already! oh And make sure the guy is legit bro good luck

Well the sensation is a pos. Good build quality my ass. Parts fell off the damn thing. Then it stopped charging. T mobile gave me an amaze as a replacement. It is a decent phone. Camera is outstanding but the screen sucked and for a dual core phone it was rather slow and very heavy. Anyway had it 3 days and traded it for a 4 day old s2 with screen protectors and a couple cases. Loving this phone. Light weight fast and beautiful screen.

Thats what i dont get about htc phones. people who own them claim their phones have incredible build quality, yet in the sensation forums there are all these threads about screen dust and buttons that dont work.
Just because a phone is heavy doesnt mean its got "industrial build quality." if buttons dont work and junk gets under the screen then the clearences are too lenient in htcs manufacturing process.

I had a couple of Sensation 4G's. I didn't love any of them but at the time of release I was mostly happy with it. The WiFi sucked horribly, and still does. Then dust got under the screen. I really wasn't happy about that. Low ram, HTC Sense, ACER screens with a purple tinge, obvious dot pitch and low headphone volume also drove me mad. I have a HTC G2 and the hinge is terrible on it. Very delicate, weak magnets. The speakerphone, even worse.
All in all, HTC is a disappointment for me after having so many talk them up as the holy grail. I have a myTouch Slide 4G that I like but it also shares some of the same problems such as weak WiFi reception and dust under the glass.
Just saw this posted on phandroid. After looking at the recent horrible renders....do you guys think its finally time for the real deal. Personally the glimpse provided is rather sexy.

Yea. It looks almost too sleek. Like a touch screen remote or something. Its a serious stretch from what we've seen. But with the advancements this phone is supposed to usher in.....its almost kinda fitting. My OG Epic line is up in October.
Hopefully that's enough time for it to get jerked around by sprint and have a decent rumor on a release date.....

Looks like it could be the real deal tho the invite date is right afaik, the only problem is the US variant won't make it here til sometime end of 3rd or 4th quarter since Sammy didn't let this one out of the cage til September I don't see them dropping another flagship device less than 12 months from the last especially since the epic 2 is coming this summer which is basically our phone with LTE instead of wimax, but most of the specs are very similar otherwise

Honestly I could see them dropping it sooner. While the Epic 2 is known about it's pretty much a refresh of the Epic that is already there and no it's not a Epic Touch it's the Epic with the keyboard so it's the update to that model nothing more and with better specs. I could see Sammy dropping this on everyone if what they said was true about wanting to release it world wide in 1 shot instead of how the GS2 was released where people pretty much had to wait almost a year to get their hands on it (outside of the GSM version)
Also that looks like the back of the phone as many have said in that posting. I tend to agree with it as well but seriously if that really is it....Shut up and take my money please now!!!!

True the hard keyboard is nice to have at times but I have to admit after using one for so long and pretty much jumping ship to a touch only phone I don't see myself being able to go back. I love slim phones I always really have I just could not get away from the keyboards but now that I have I don't see me going back ever again.

I have a confession to make to you.
Cyan, I cheated on you... And it wasn't pretty. I'm so sorry but I thought that the grass was greener on the other side and as it turns out, those other roms only held false hopes. They were all dressed up in lacy red lingerie, with their big boobs all hanging out but inside they were empty and unstable.
Let me explain what happened and maybe you will understand and hopefully forgive me for my transgression.( too much drama?)

So I bought the GNex on Verizon the day it came out and went straight home to unlock/root it. Despite all the negative opinions I read, at first, I was really happy with it. It was the beginning of a crackflash addiction that has lasted for almost two years. Since then, I've flashed every rom out there, and there were some that I really liked.
v.4.0 (ics) was like the girl next door that was a little nerdy and homely looking so you didn't pay much attention to then one day you see her in Kroger (or whatever your local grocer is called) and she's all grown up and she's dropped dead sexy but still in that nerdy looking way with like glasses and everything. It offered a lot of new things and the things devs were doing to get the best user experience out of their roms gave me hope that I wouldn't have to buy a new phone for a while (cuz frankly, phones are way too damn expensive). And I really liked my phone and showing off to my envious *iphone friends what my phone can do.
Then came Jelly Bean.
I thought at first that I should go back to stock and wait for Verizon to release it but that is like waiting for that girl next door to become legal. so I went with one of the first releases from one of the major roms (I won't name any names) and at first everything looked okay.
I should back up a sec,
One of the major flaws in the VGNex is the radios and from the start it was plagued with issues as I'm sure most people know. So one of the reasons I like being rooted is that when a new radio is released I could try it out and see if it worked for me. Eventually, Verizon or somebody solved that issue and my phone was okay being on stock. However, after JB was released, I noticed that pretty much any rom I was running I would have tons of issues, mostly related to my network signal or Wifi or both. sometimes GPS was non-existent, and other times it was bluetooth.
That is until I found Cyan.
Cyanogen you are the greatest thing that ever happened to my phone. I started using your rom a little over a month ago ( which is the longest I've ever ran a rom) and it's weird because I didn't like you all that much when I first tried you out on my original Dinc. You never are feature packed and so I thought that was a negative. How naive i was back then.
Since that time I have been extremely pleased with how my phone behaves and I really thought I found the one. Days would go by and I wouldn't even get on XDA or Rootzwiki to check if there were any updates or anything I might be interested in trying.
Everything worked and other than a few occurrences where I noticed a little lag which was fixed by wiping chache/dalvik, I never noticed anything that prompted me to look outside our relationship. But I do have wandering eyes and I started to notice other roms that had some pretty cool features and I thought that maybe I could look and not touch. But we all know how hard it is to navigate the adulterous waters.
I should say that I'm not trying to bash other roms. I honestly think that maybe it is just the 'one' phone I got and it only works on stock and Cyanogen, Which I admit, would be a weird flaw to have in a phone. Or maybe I just don't know what I'm doing.
Maybe there was a memo that I overlooked.
All I know is that the last few days without you have been a whirlpool of frustration and desperation. I almost cried earlier when I pulled my phone out and it wouldn't power off because the last 24 hours it was constantly freezing up on me. I can't stand not having GPS or have it only work sometimes because it always seems the times I need it to work it wants to act up and make my phone look like a old man that needs Viagra. The signal is super frustrating too because not only does it not want to connect to anything when I need it but it's also a huge battery drain.
It makes me regret ever making that horrible decision to hurt you. I'm sorry I betrayed your trust in me. I never want to relive those horrible days again. The shame and guilt was... (okay, was that too much? alright.)
The point is, Thank you Cyan for being a true dependable light that I can count on, no matter what happens. And I hope that when I do upgrade my phone it's on one that you are supporting , or else I might just stay with this one until death does us part. (now, just stop it)
Thanks for listening and I hope this funny little story doesn't hurt anyone's feelings. I don't want to make anyone think that other roms aren't good or stable. My experience is exactly that so it might be a different experience for someone else. I also want to thank all the devs out there for making my half-baked/Verizon Nexus as fun as it could be without actually being a true Nexus device.

@bonebeatz1234 I bet the Note 3 will be sick... BUT I personally would rather just get a tablet and then get a 3G plan with it hahaa. If it can't fit/has trouble fitting in my pocket, that's just too damn big for me! S4 should be perfect, although not gonna lie I was a bit tempted to hold out just to see the specs/features of the Note 3.

agreed, i am holding out for the Note 3. Love my GS3 though.
i didn't spend 1 cent on the iPhone 5, it is a work phone. Thank you and keep paying your health insurance premiums :highfive:

I DID IT!!! Got $262.50 believe it or not for my S3. Brand new S4... this thing is amazing, I am in love alll over again. Safe to say my GF is pissed, although she understands cause she's getting it too hahaha. :good:

Nice. What are they averaging on craigslist right now? $300? That's not bad for not having to deal with that. Thinking about doing the switch myself plus leaving Sprint.

I'd strongly recommend you hold out for Fall then. My upgrade is available July 1st and I'll be waiting for something a bit faster (and supports tri-band LTE).

But seriously, I am selling my S3 into Best Buy (couldn't find a buyer on Craigslist after a week) and using that money to get the S4! It's been a fun ride ladies and gents. Thanks to ALL of the awesome devs here for the Sprint S3, you all made my experience on this awesome phone that much more awesomer (I made that word up). I hope some of you amazing devs soon go to the S4 as well so I can enjoy your work. Love this community and will be checking in periodically to see when ya'll finally get 4.2.2

Yeah, I watched the live stream on Android Central. I didn't think I'd want it, and I'd wait until my upgrade in may but hell I want it! So I'm getting it off contract that way when my upgrade does come if anything I can't wait until the next one!

Does the Note 3 have a RGB display like the Note 2 or does it have the Pentile display like the S3 and S4?
If it has a RGB Display it will be hard to not get. I sadly can't get it because I'm putting all my extra money into helping my parents get by right now.
It's going to suck that I won't be able to get it. I'm already depressed and once it's released on T-Mobile I'll be even more sad. It's such tough times right now and I love phone. Having the Note 2 was great but after seeing what the Note 3 can do and all of its features, I'm just so sad. I know it sounds weird but having a good phone really.. Nvm.. Gratz for everyone that can get the Note 3.

Yeah they're just toys pretty much. Not much of a necessity since the D710 kicks some serious booty still. I'm probably not even getting the note 3 on release date since I can hold out for a while with my D710. I love this phone so I can only imagine the power of the note 3. That faux leather battery cover is hideous though. I'm gong to replace that asap and stick in an extended battery lol.

Amazon is a big one. But that is usually around the time all the carriers come or with a buy one get one... I an thinking family plan style, since i have two phones that expire same time. But Amazon is notorious for the $0.01 sales from end November-x mas.

The funny thing is I just insurance claimed for a new S2 (well refurbd), It does everything I need it too....except LTE. The saving grace is that my area never received wimax, nor does the city I'm moving too. So I don't "need" a new phone, until the city I move to gets it.
I really wanted the S4 active, but I just don't see moving to at&t just to get it. Now, there is a company that will "waterproof" your phone. I may use the spray on water repellent (rustoleum maybe?) on my spare S2 parts phone to see how well it works and then do my new s2. Theres a video on youtube of someone doing an EVO, but not doing a professional job and it was effectively waterproof.
I miss having a stylus based phone (coming from the Touch Pro 2 and ppc6800), but the note 3 is large, maybe too large for me, but man would it be nice to have such a large screen for games and media. Plus the true multitasking and windowed programs looks badass, that is the next step, specially someone liek me that used to carry a small laptop around.
My concern is having the thing in my pocket, in jeans when I sit down it would probably snap the thing in half. Also using it one handed while driving, maybe a smaller dialer and localized controls for google maps and such. When gmaps released the new update without zoom buttons...what a terrible experience.
I also don't want to waste an upgrade waiting 2 years for a good phone to come out. Now that phones are getting really expensive, you kinda have to time it better. I'd love to have as S4, but I'm glad I still have my upgrade right now, on the other hand a used S4 is still $450 on craigslist, so you can get your money out of it still. But a non-contract note 3 is probably like $800, and $300 for contract, I may just get one based on the savings.

You will probably be able to pick it up under one of the prepaid programs out there once the hype settles down.
Yeah I rather wait after release since release models always have some bugs.
