No inventory clearance? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I was kinda hoping with the announcement of the new Nexus 4, Google would slash the price to $200 to clearance them out, but I'm hearing nothing. The gnex was still being sold earlier today so what's to become of remaining inventory?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

Yea strange. I guess they wanted to keep all their products aligned. 4, 7, and 10. All Nexus no manufacturer branding. No where have I seen Samsung or LG or ASUS.
Maybe they will eventually. I was thinking $249. $200 is really low.
Inventory wasn't very big to begin with and must have dropped off steeply after the Nexus 4 went into production. I guess they were selling off the remainder all this time if you think about it.

Yeah as a guy who works for a retail store, I'm wondering if Samsung bought back all the inventory. I've seen my company do it over model changes. This might be the whole point of the Galaxy Premier, the unused gnex inventory might be remanufactured into a different phone model.

Amazon Now Selling VZW Galaxy Nexus for one penny!

EDIT: With a new contract. Come on, use your sense.
Now it seems that Amazon launched this right after Verizon ended their double data promo. However, I bet there are some lucky bastards who snatched this while also getting 4gb for $30.

which nexus phone should I buy????

I want to buy a nexus smartphone but confused with S, Q variants of nexus smartphones. Which one will be best to buy???
Nexus Q is not a phone.
Nexus S is ancient.
Your only current phone option is the Galaxy Nexus.

Is galaxy nexus worth buying?
It's really up to you. Rumours are around that the Nexus phone is getting a revamp soon (within the month) however it may or may not be priced at the $350 mark. If I were you, I'd just wait it out a bit and see.

I would rather wait a few weeks for a new Nexus.
I just grabbed a gnex last week. For 349.00 it was a good deal IMO. The hardware is still relevant and pretty snappy.
Not to say I wouldn't grab the next iteration if it was priced right although I believe it will probably be somewhere in the 600 range. Wasn't that the price of the unlocked Google gnex last year?

$349 when it reached U.S. markets. When it was outside U.S. markets it was ~$700 - $649 before it had to be imported internationally.
VZW users got it for $199 on two-years with ~$529ish off contract but is incompatible with GSM networks
Galaxy Nexus will still be relevant after the next Nexus device comes out. The Nexus S is still relevant, it has good developer support.
wait for the new nexus device made by LG, it will be released within a month or two.
If not, the current nexus (Galaxy nexus) is sufficient.
i would probably wait another month or so if/when the new Nexus comes out. If you don't like it, the Galaxy Nexus will be even cheaper at that time.

Rumored that other manufacturers will release their version of a Nexus as well so there won't be just one Nexus device this year but multiple.
Agreed with what MarkGbe says. Galaxy Nexus will go down in price, Nexus S will go even lower (or be discontinued)

Why do you want a U.S. retailer when you are located in India? Not many big known 'retailers' sell GSM Galaxy Nexuses in stores. Maybe the local random shops. They are normally distributed online, but in that case why don't you order it from someone near you or in Europe? Less shipping costs.
Please do some research beforehand as you haven't done much researched before posting this thread thinking that Nexus Q was a phone. We're just here to answer your question but you need to do at least put effort into answering them on your own. If you find it confusing or whatever, then ask. And if any of us helped you out please press the thanks button.
Who knows maybe the current nexus will actually be taken off the market due to the Samsung vs Apple case that keeps going on. Apple has filed a case against the current nexus and the SG3 I believe...& i don't think they will give the new phone a $350 value they will def start it off around $700 get sales and gradually drop it down till the $350 mark as they did with the current..
I don't think it will come out till December anyway (just in time for the holidays) so if you can't wait till then I suggest you just buy this...
Sell your current phone + when the new nexus comes out you can sell this GNex for atleast a $100-$200 which is not bad at all. The previous nex still goes for $100 which is amazing.

OP lives in India not in America. That case will take ages to settle, by the time it finalizes. The next Nexus device will be out done by HTC, LG, Samsung, Motorola and it'll become irrelevant.
It was $700 because it was imported from Europe and had a monopoly, Off-contract in Europe and places were never $700ish. Prices started to stabilize and go for ~$529ish on Newegg at that point and then Google revived the store and sold the GN for $350. Rumored was that LG Nexus is starting out at 8GB, so you're wrong that there won't be a "value" Nexus device.
The difference this time around will be that Google will sell it through their Play Store stabilizing prices from day one. Google wants people to have their Nexus devices, not to make a extreme profit -- hence, $99 Nexus tablet? $199-$249 Nexus 7 tablet with $25 play store credit? they're not that greedy.
& I stand corrected...
but I still do not believe that they will release a 8gb device...If anything that will be a media player? not a phone as Samsung has been doing lately...
You make me feel like I made a bad decision now lol I am suppose to get my nexus in the mail today
I live in India too. You can't use Sprint or Verizon. If you want to buy it, you'll have to buy the unlocked GSM variant from he Google play website. Although this won't be available from India. If you have a friend in the US, ask him to order it for you. That's what I did, and I'm loving it

Fair price for this phone?

What would you guys consider a fair price for this phone on Craig's list? The prices in my area are all over the place. On ebay they are selling for 350 brand new with a one year warranty. Mine is a brand new warranty replacement. I'm going to play the waiting game and try for a nexus 4. Also I paid 350 for this phone a year ago through a hookup.
I paid 250$ on craiglist. The guy said he Bought it for 380$. The phone was practically new. So i guess I was just lucky lol. If I sell it it would be 250$ like I bought it. But I see some ppl selling it at 280$-300$. And in bad conditions.
sent from Land Of Ooo.
I paid $185 for mine, phones are a hobby to me I still don't think its "worth" that much though, just go 10 bucks below everyone so someone buys yours, you gotta think how often do people have 250 to spend on a phone

Yeah its a good and expensive phone. Beginning prices start at 300 and end at 500. Its only 50$ less than the Galaxy S3 from T-Mobile without a contract, being 500$. My S3 was 550$

Florida Craigslist w**re checking it. I've seen them for average $185-$200 in "good" condition.
Russian smashed across the interwebz from my T-Mobile Galaxy S2. Please hit thanks if I helped.
With Koodo I managed to get this phone brand new for $300 outright
If it's in good shape you should be able to get at the very minimum $200, but I would say $250 is fair.

Considering you can buy them new for $300 out of contract at walmart I'd say $250 max in like new condition.

just to let you guys know I listed my phone for $280 on CL and sold for $300 ,two guys that offered me that amount. It might just have been the timing because both were going to be gifts also the phone was flawless as well. I'm gonna miss this phone it was good as hell to me. Now I wait till the nexus 4 become available again, I heard it might February oh well, I cat wait and will be using my Vibrant till then.
That was a quick sell. And yeah, man Google didn't do too well with the Nexus 4 release. I was contemplating getting one, but the whole releasing in batches seems like it would be a pain to get one. Either way, I still wouldn't mind one, but we will see what the next few months bring in terms of new nexus devices

This. Although I might start the bidding lower to get more people to look at it and follow at the beginning of the listing. Also, set the end date for a time when people have the opportunity to look and spend time bidding up the item, such as on a Sunday afternoon when people have nothing better to do (i.e. not 4am, keep in mind time zone differences as well).
Get it unlocked, and sell it on ebay. eBay is your best best. I was getting offers on mine for $200 all day on Craigslist. I ended up trading mine for a white S2 with a bad power button plus $150 .
I want to buy my first android phone is $230 a good price in almost new condition. Should i wait for a lower price or on this or Galaxy nexus

I've been in the same situation as you, deciding between sticking with a T989 or switching to a G Nexus. In my opinion and after some research, aside from the obvious amount of dev support you get with the G Nex and a 720p display, there's nothing much that would justify that spending money to switch is worth it.
As for day to day use, you will definitely not notice any difference performance wise between these two particular devices. Might as well just wait for the GS3 to become cheaper, at least that has features worth upgrading to and about the same amount of dev support.
I paid 200 for mine

Does Galaxy Nexus still manufactured?

I bought mine one year ago, and I still see local stores, that sell it, some even didn't drop the price since than, I don't get it? where the hell the get them? or any other old Galaxy like I9000 or I9100?
Most of the ones available around me are remanufactured. There are a few scattered on eBay for BIG $ which is ridiculous. The phone is great though.

Hello there,
Giving that Nexus 4 has been out for a while and that Nexus 5 is just under the horizon, my opinion is that there are no new Galaxy Nexus'es made. That's just why prices of the SH ones are rising.
Just my two cents...

Buying through Google or Amazon?

So I've never bought a phone from Google before since I'm on Verizon and this is the first Nexus that's ever been available to me and I'm unfamiliar with their support procedures.
With the 10% cash back with Chase Freedom next week, I'm thinking about buying the phone through Amazon since it's now available there, but I've seen people commenting that Google support is very good in the case that I ever need an RMA. Can anyone comment on how long the RMA period is through Google and whether it is worth buying from them directly vs getting it through Amazon? How many people have actually needed to RMA the device?
Thanks!
Isn't it cheaper through Google--at least enough to cover the 10%? I've never needed to RMA, but wish I could have dealt with Google on my N9 which I bought from Amazon (open box, though). Like you, I've read great reports about Google support and have bought 5 phones from them, including the N6P. On the other hand, I've not read horror stories about LG (like I read about HTC). My N5 is still going strong. You will double your warranty through the visa card (no matter where you purchase) plus 120 day purchase protection-at least mine does. I used it once years ago. You still have LG warranty no matter what.
Thanks for the heads up on the 10%. I didn't know.

It's the same price now. Think it was updated on Amazon yesterday.

Google's website has $80 off the Nexus 5X for Black Friday weekend. $350 for the 32GB model, I wish I had waited for this deal.
