Quick Tips:
◘ Make sure you do a Full Wipe and then flash the ROM.
◘ DO NOT restore data via Titanium Backup. More often than not it will cause stupid issues.
◘ Lean Kernel, as verified by Woodrube (Thanks!) works rather well on this build
◘ If you have done all that, and still face issues please post a logcat. (Search on how to do that)
◘ For battery related issues, please post a relevant screenshot from an app like Better Battery Stats etc.

Thanks mate, great work!

I ran rc5 for a week and was very impressed.. downloading rc7 now.. hopefully its daily driver material
Edit.. any way to fix the home button not waking up the screen? Other than that its pretty flawless
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app

i was getting reboots every once in a while on rc5... any word on that? or were you guys aware? unfortunately i couldn't provide a log because i couldn't log in to xda. and obviously not running it anymore... just curious if you guys made note a few other people mentioned the same phenomenon.

Yesss will flash once I get home!!
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium

I had huge battery issues on RC7. It dropped to 89% after only 15 minutes

Thank you! Flashing it ASAP.

Finally in the original thread! Nice!!

Not sure why you had that issue, unless you're using a kernel....but in RC7 there's no random reboots....

Battery last forever for me bro....It might be the kernel you're running, or something in regards to a rogue app or something

I have been running this for a few days now and I wasn't sure how they could improve on RC5 but they did.
I have no excessive battery drain, however I did update Google Search and got the Google Now add-on with it. Since doing that, I have noticed more drain than usual. I don't use it, so I can uninstall with no regrets.
Other than that, I am running Lean Kernel 1.6 with it instead of KT's kernel and it runs just fine if you want another option.

Did you do a full wipe before flashing?
Also, please post a screenshot of your battery usage, with something like BetterBattery Stats or a similar app. I can't troubleshoot wildly.

Yes!!! Have been reading all about how great rc5 was and was unable to download due to the broken link. Very upsetting. I almost cried. But alas I was on the prowl for a new rom this morning, and here it is, rc7, bright shiny and new. Happy Halloween indeed. Cant wait, downloading now!

First flash and went from 87% to 15% in 3 hours.. horrible battery drain.. using KT kernel that came with ROM ktoonz governor.. anybody know what's up?

Yes I did a full wipe. I will wait for the dust to settle before trying again. Thanks for the great rom......

I am running RC7 with LeanKernel 1.7 exp1 and things are looking great so far.
I will report back later today with battery life and such.
Great work!
Update: Sitting at 5 hours of up time and only down 5% of battery. This is with some light texting and web browsing.

Holy smokes, this is fantastic. Still setting things up but it's a lot faster than I had anticipated. A few placeholders here and there but it's just as functional as anything else as far as I've seen.
Looks like it'll make a great daily driver!

Lol, seems like you guys are new to skankwich. Fitsnugly, the guy responsible for CM skankwiches has a thing for deleting spam posts in his rom threads... so unless you have anything constructive to say about the roms, all useless posts will be deleted.
In fact this post might be deleted as well

10 hours total usage, only down 20% with an hour of pretty vigorously used screen-on time. 1.35ghz OC, on demand governor, stock kernel and Wifi enabled the entire time.
No excessive amount of wakes and phone sleeps pretty well. Doesn't always go into a super deep sleep but this observation... meh... I'll wait and see some more. Need to let more time pass but so far it's blazing fast, very clean, no FCs and much better battery life than I had expected. I really didn't think these nightlies would be THIS polished.
I'll report again after more time passes. I really did not expect this to be so well polished right off the bat. Many thanks to the dev for whatever it was he's done with these releases. Saw a few of his other threads and looks like lots of satisfied users.
*** Edit ***
22 hours total time, 50% battery, 1 hour and 50 minutes screen on time. Haven't used it too much but when I have it's been pretty intensive. Very pleased so far!
Any way to add the search button to the navigation bar..?
P. S. Agree with bongd (good to see you here mate, recognise you from the Atrix forums), this is really really fast & stable!

Hey, nice to see you again too, man. It's always funny getting a new device and slowing seeing all the cats from previous sub forums get the same one lol
All right fellas, 45 hours total, 3 hours and 30 minutes screen on time, 9% battery left. phenomenal!!
On AOKP I usually banged out closed to 4 hours of screen on time but only got around 20-25 hours which I still thought was really great for that ROM. Now it's just absolutely amazing now that I'm on this CM9 ROM.
I'm having some issue with battery !:

Got Better Battery Stats? I've been getting stupid awesome battery life on CM9. Most recently 40 hours with 2:45 screen on time, half on data, half on Wifi, no sleep policy and still had 25% left. Many texts, emails, some downloading, etc...
You definitely had a rogue process or two, but AOS doesn't seem abnormal (?).
Edit: AOS a little higher than my typical ~18%
Damn Flo :-(
I went 19.5 hours the other day and still had 47% left, & I have the battery sucking LTE toro version
Is anyone else having LED notification issues with the Skankwich kangs? It works as expected for me when I use a CM9 nightly, but when I try using a fitsnugly build, I lose all LED notification capability.

Change Log:
I made this by creating a hybrid of a Crespo CM9 Nightly and Blackwing182's IceColdInsomnia build. I will be working hard to remove all AOKP left overs and making this as pure CM9 as I can. This will increase stability and functionality as well as giving you, the users, as close to ICS CyanogenMod as I can give you.
Full Change Log:
Initial Release.
NOTES:
ISSUES? Logcat them! http://www.androidinsomnia.com/learn-to-logcat-like-an-insomniac/
-Known Issues:
1. Incoming calls look strange but function perfectly. Here is what I mean. The slider button to either accept or reject the call is half way off the screen and has tracers. This is due to left over AOKP frameworks and is being worked out actively and aggressively. To answer the call, press the center button and drag right. To hang up press the center button and drag left. It works every time.
2. ROM Controls is another leftover from AOKP frameworks. This will eventually be replaced with the Cyanogen controls. For now it force closes when clicked. This is being actively and aggressively being worked out.
3. Play Store seems to not always want to download. I've seen this a lot recently ever since the Play Store was last updated. The higher your connection speed the easier this process goes. I'm trying to track down anything I can do to make this better, but it may be a Play Store "feature" not sure yet.
4. There are some random freezes and such. I haven't had anything crazy happen, but basically it's a pretty rough port. I'm learning as I go and this will settle down as A. ICS stabilises, and B. I weed out remaining AOKP code.
5. Camera. The camera (both front and back) start with having a blank screen where it should display what you are going to take a picture of. When you click the button it will successfully take a picture and will begin desplaying correctly. This resets when you switch front to back or back to front. Landscape mode is upside down. Finally, video recording doesn't work. Our top coder is working hard on the camera issues all the time. They will be hammered out as fast as we can, be patient please.
Features:
-Working camera
-Working WiFi
-I think bluetooth works, but have nothing to test it with. If not I should be able to have it working next build, just let me know.
-Everything else should work, other than what's described I've been running this for two days without major upset. Again, it's an alpha build and IS BEING HEAVILY DEVELOPED! I really hope you enjoy this as much as I have.
This ROM brought to you by JHutson456
I would like to take a moment to thank the team as a whole. You guys are all awesome and this wouldn't be possible without you all. The whole Cyanogen team and the whole AOKP team for giving us the bases for this build. I'd also like to thank cayniarb of Tiamat. You've always been right there answering questions without hesitation. It's appreciated more than you know man. The whole Infected ROMs team who have invited me into their "home" and taught me so much. SuperKid at MIUIus who has endlessly put up with me and helped me along the way, through the good and the bad. I've been able to grow a lot as a dev due to the people mentinoed above and below. It really needs to be said, "nani gigantum humeris insidentes" We are dwarves standing on the shoulders of giants.
Minus21, Brother, you will be missed while you serve overseas. Our love goes with you. "Not gone but marching far away"

Second? haha. Can't wait to see what changes were made. Also, is this just an upgrade that we can dirty flash? I know it's always better to full wipe but this ROM is going so good I don't want to disturb it!
Edit: Nevermind. Read the Quick Tips. Link is not working yet anyways so I guess I will start backing everything up.

If you want stabilty, numerous customizations and overclocking kernels than this is the s**t hands down. Haven't had any problems since I began using LiquidSmooth at all. Best rom for stabilty as far as JB roms easily. Just my opinion though others may like something else.

[ROM][WIP] [R&D] Light Jelly MB1 NOW....still need testers

I posted this in general today and it was advised that I move it here to get more help. The post from my post is general is copied below and explains everything. I am attempting to follow all rules by formatting my post correctly. If this is in the wrong section, mods please accept my apology and remove.Any feedback, good or bad, is welcomed.
I've been tinkering around making my own roms for awhile now. I just stated back because I was bored and felt like doing something. I am not a dev , by any means, so I am not making a public tom because I simply do not know how to implement bug fixes when I need them( With the advice that I received earlier from my post in general, it seems like I would get more help here. Thus the tagging as R&D.. With that being said, I've slimmed down the MA6 rom to my liking and would like help on making a few final adjustments. The rom is as follows.
Changelog

Maybe. I'm already beta testing and helping for patches for 3 other roms.

I added WIP to your title to show work in progress. Also please note which kernel you are using in the OP. If not stock then please add a link to where kernel source can be found.
Good luck with your project, this is a great community and you should get lots of help here.
You may want to keep a current bug list and changelog in the OP to keep repeated reports of the same bug.
Cheers

Thanks for the tips and will get on the right away.
So do any of you, who tested, have anything to report?
Re: [ROM][WIP] [R&D] Light_Jelly MA6--Help/testers needed
Your messaging bug comes from messaging being called secmms on touchwiz. Or maybe secmessaging
Still. That's why. Might be able fix that with some XML edits to the launcher.

Or you might be able to use aosp messaging app. Since it would, in theory, have the correct path.

I have decompiled the apk and am now trying to find where it points to. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Have made it all the way to version 1.2. Will update first post later on today(uploading right now).
Preview of changes
*Themed
*Updated to MB1
*Alternative Kernel
*Nova Launcher is stock now
*Removed even more apps
Version 1.2 is posted for you guys to check out. Thanks again.
Awesomeness. re-downloadingzzzzz XD!
So how is it working out for you guys.
Running quite smooth. Loving the Project Google theme, running a few stress tests on battery and CPU.
tweaked the K747 governors for better battery life and i'll be back to reply how long it's lasted.
I'm not really a fan of home launcher's anymore and i usually stick with stock TW BUT I am using
The Razr M launcher because of the widget it has only accustomed to it. No bottlenecks from what I see.
Self Modifications -
I removed the samsung boot up and shutdown qmg files for faster boots.
removed the poweron and off sounds.
Removed the Camera Click sound.
Changed Wifi Tethering application to Beta 2 V5
App issues experienced -
The Wifi Tether beta 2 Modv4 app kept FCing when i start it even after i cleared data / wipe cache and dalvik. I uninstalled it
and installed the Beta 2 Modv5 and it's working great, No idea if others are having this problem though but just install the Mod V5
and it should be ready to go.
All in all, Its Light and de-bloated, solid and fast when overclocked.

Oh and one more thing. A suggestion to add to your ROM, a huge flipfont clean mega pack
You guys can download it from posts on the XDA forums or google it... Or here
https://www.dropbox.com/s/602tmb2wkex4hz8/com.monotype.android.font.cleanflipfontpack.apk
You are correct with the Wifi Tether. I have replaced app in new version. The boot animation is supposed to be different but it didn't take. I'm playing with aroma right now to give more options on install. I have also toyed with a few other options. Currently thinking of including LMT launcher. How much battery life have you sucked out so far? I am also thinking of removing all sounds and making a flashable pack to put them back. Hopefully that will save me some room in the rom. I want to make it small as possible but still be Sammy based.
Reason why the custom boot animations didn't work was because you
needed to reflash the bootanimation4u file after installing the updated
k747 kernel. It has custom boot support you just needed to flash that file
after flashing k747
The sounds are only 10 to 30 kb each ( system sounds ) and the ringtones
alarms etc are 100-200 kbs so it isnt that big. TW itself is just... Huge O_O
From 7 am today to 12 pm i went from 95% to 70% but that was because i
was running battery calibration and doing cpu stress tests
If i was never doing anything at all but just screen on itd be about
somewhat 1-3 days long depending on how a person uses it.

About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
Features
Simply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously. But here is one for now:

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.
5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Guys In This Rom Boot Animation Is Not There So Relax Dont Get Panic It Will Take around 2 To 3 MIn To Boot
It Will Work On C1904 Also
@vishal_android freak
I am very low on bandwidth,so could you please tell high end games which were not working in CM are working in this rom?
And no source on this thread??
Rom sources need not be linked all the time as all the files contain apache code written in them.. I was just busy so couldn't upload them.. I'll do in sometime if its against the rules.. I am not sure about the games as i don't own the device.. It's pretty much smooth for everyday use.. No idea about gaming.. You can wait for other people's reviews..

How to install? Should i flash the boot.img first and on stock 4.1?

Lol I am acting like a noob.
Yuh the issue is solved by turning off pocket mode and a reboot.
Here is my review
1) All games working.(including the ones which were not working on CM)
2) Smother and swift.
3) Only one Fc found which is mention in OP.
A request
Can you please make min brightness more minimum(making it more darker) cause it is eating battery. And now i am out of bandwidth so could not download kernel source.
