[Q] Is the S3 compatible with NFC speakers - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm just wondering if the s3 can play music through NFC speakers like the one from Nokia. Thanks

It has an NFC chip... so yes? I don't know much about NFC and when you talk about Nokia... what exactly are you talking about?

Nokia makes NFC speakers check their website

Apple Earpods

So I just got the Apple Earpods and it seems that the microphone does not work at all. During calls and in apps. It doesn't matter what ROM I am on. However I do know the microphone on the headphones does work on other phones like the Nexus 4. Is there anyway that the microphone support could be implemented into a ROM? Or is it something hardware related that Samsung did with the headphone jack?

Like all Apple products, they decided to make their own version of TRRS jacks, so Apple reversed two of the poles on the jack. You can buy a converter here for 10.00

Thank you! But I am wondering why does it not work on the GS3? It works on the nexus 4 and according to android central when they reviewed the earpods, the microphone does work the android.

I believe in the review AC used a GNex, and if you read through the comments, people say the mic does not work on a SGS3 and even the GNex.
Try downloading Jays headset control from play store and see if it works.

What's the best microphone for the Galaxy S2?

I want to do some public pranks, but I don't know what mic to get. Since my Galaxy S2 is the only audio recorder I have. My limit is about $50.

Hello. Well my friend... I have tried recording with my Jabra headset and it works pretty well. Bought it from amazon about a year ago and it's still holding up just fine.

If you want to use the headset as a voice recorder you'll need an app called Bluetooth Recorder Lite.

It's not the best app but oh well... There aren't too many free options right now.
If you really are into that I recommend Easy Voice Recorder Pro. It costs around 4 dollars right now and it has bluetooth support.

Hope I helped :good:

The point is that it has been superseded by newer technologies, I.e. hdmi and Miracast etc.
Given the need to cram more technology into smaller and smaller spaces, something had to give.

Nope, there is no FM transmitter in the S4.
You must have been playing around with some of the old Nokia phones
with the symbian operating system to ask a question like that.
Lmao

I don't know of any Android devices that have a *working* transmitter (and all hardware on which it would depend), however, many have a tuner. The Galaxy S4 is not among those with a tuner though; Samsung feels most of the target market for the Galaxy S4 prefers digital brodcasting.

[Q] Any way to test NFC?

I have a T-Mobile S3 and a Nexus 7 but they aren't interacting with one another via NFC/Android Beam. GS3 is running root box and the N7 is running Paranoid Android. Anyway to test which one isn't working? I've thought of buying tags but want to avoid buying other items unless necessary.
EDIT: I recently had my S3 LCD Replaced but I always assumed the battery is what allowed NFC to be used and the battery (as far as I know) is original.

Nfc is built into the stock battery.
Get nfc tag info from the store and test on any rfid tag, such as security tags.
