[Q] wildfire s / hboot-1.08 / marvel (gsm) /s-on to s-off?

Hello!
i try some methods to s-off with stock firmware but i cant...
-i read that gsm and cdma are harware level identicaly and i try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416015 and install "RUU_Marvel_Virgin_Mobile_1.37.351.1_Radio_47.10.35.3029H_7.46.35.08_release_188032_signed", i done but when i power in fastboot it says me "security error" when i try to clear s58... my h-boot are 1.08, i think this is the problem but i cant downgrade...
-y try change to cdma mode with *#*#4636#*#* and automatic changes to wcdma...
-also, try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351409 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20056976&postcount=212...
try to install insink71_marvelc_signed_120411_130517 renaming this as PG76IMG.zip, and after some minutes installing got security error...

i think is hboot, but im not sure, and i dont know if i would downgrade 1.08 to any s-off able. I dont like pay for xtc-clip

The gsm version of the wildfire s can't unlock without xtc clip at this time. Please read the topics about in this forum.

i read about it and i know that gsm would be cdma for make s-off and later install gsm another time.
Some people seems sucessfully change gsm to cdma (maybe fake xd?) and i try this...
i like to know why cant...

I have tried by my self and it doesn't work. If u know who test it succesfully, plz ask him/her what she/he did and post it.

The most we've done is when fastboot, after diagnostic tests he says "cleaning S58", and later restart the phone ...
I read that phone reset when it detects no SIM card, so install the CDMA firmware, but does not work ...
I ordered samples to st for the microprocessor of XTC-CLIP (to build them). But I would like to find a software solution ...

I removed all the pre-installed software by flashing a cut down custom ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842771.
In order to do this all I needed to do was unlock and root the device. which I did via: http://www.htcdev.com/, click on the unlock bootloader link and follow the instructions, I don't remember all the details and I've only done it once, but I don't recall it being difficult. This unlocks the bootloader so you can install custom ROMs but doesn't S-OFF the phone, but it would seem that the phone doesn't have to be S-OFF to install custom ROMs.
However I am now looking to S-OFF the phone (so that I can allocate unused space in system.img to data.img), I've followed many many tutorials and guides and nothing works, reading this thread, it would seem that it's not possible for HTC Wildfire S - HBOOT 1.08.0099 or 1.09.0099 (mine is the former). Am I correct in this assumption?
I have read about Revone on other threads would this work with my phone? Has anyone tried it?

Have u unlcoked bootloader? and used cwm?

[Q] Debranding Desire HD (Vodafone): unlocked bootloader is it possible?

Hi,
I have DHD from Vodafone UK, I am looking for a way to debrand while its bootloader unlocked, ship s-on and no root.
I have made a gold card, but I am not able to install any WWE RUU for some reason!
The phone is stuck at HTC logo but I am able to do hboot and I have Ext4 recovery install. Need either to get it back to Vodafone or install any other stock roms.

Dont I need the phone running (home screen) prior to using AAHK? In my case I cant go beyond the HTC logo screen.
I tried downloading vodafone PD98IMG.zip uploaded by one of the guys in another forum. Unfortunately, hboot loaded the file but then gave me wrong rom/image message.
I also tried running another RUU, opened the temp folder and copied the PD98IMG.ZIP to the temp folder and deleted the rom.zip then renamed PD98IMG.ZIP to rom.zip but after the signature verification it gave me err155.
I am not sure if there is anything that can be done to fix this. Do I need to relock the bootloader or remove the ext4 recovery prior to doing this?

when i turn it on it just vibrate and keep rebooting. i can go to fast-boot mode and i also tried so many shipped roms but no luck at all.please help me to suggest exact rom which i need.my phone on h3g uk.i already tried the same network rom.I have also try to make s-off with xtc clip but it just stuck to waiting for radio.So it doesn't let me make s-off as well.

the XTC clip didn't work - you're probably on a simlock? - if yes: is this the network you want to use? if no: sry but there's no known method to unlock SIM besides purchasing an unlock key
Regarding rooting and S-OFF there are two guides in the General section:

You can try a progam called android flasher down the CWM and flash it with this program has helped me to install CWM 2.0 roms asking

I've followed the instructions at http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/ruu-downloads which, for my network (O2UK), instructs me to "update" my ROM to 2.13.206.1. So I've updated OTA and find I have 2.26.401.3.
The problem is that the RUU from the above website won't recognise this 2.26.401.3 ROM as 2.13.206.1 and insists I "update" to 2.13.206.1 which I do not know how to do.
Is there any other way I can unlock the bootloader? Or can I get the 2.13.206.1 ROM from somewhere else and install that?

Just proceed to step 1..............If your version is higher than specified,you can unlock your phone's bootloader

You cannot install other ROM into your phone without bootloader unlocked.root permissions and CWM recovery.

I think you're already have HBOOT unlockable (xxxx99)
Go to steps unlock bootloader without download ruu from htcdev.

You really don't need to update the boot loader and search for RUU when the HBoot ver is 1.08.xxx or later.
Just go thru this guide, will help you

I have the exact same Phone values and I got threw the prozess(the one behind the link above) and i got my wfs to ***UNLOCKED*** and i'm able to install new ROM's
buuuuuuuut
every Rom i installed is not capable to make or receive phone calls. Every time i try to do a call, the wfs says:
android.phone.prozess is shutting down
Did i forget anything or did anything wrong?
Got any help?

@clusternate, if your phone is MarvelC (cdma) then you have to flash ROM that suits your model.

I've got the europe (germany) version. so i think i need the GSM version.
I'm quiet new to rooting this devices. Are there different versions of every ROM?
I tried about 6-7 ROM's and not one of them worked. (MIUI, CM7, CM9, everyone from the wfs section of this forum)
A co-worker told me something about updating the modem of my wfs.
Is this true and is there a way to do it?
PS. Which ROM should work on my device?
PPS. There is another prozess that is failing.
Prozess.android.acore is also crashing.

Now.. I follow the tutorial to root my phone with HTC SUPERTOOL V3, but unfortunately, when i select the option 1 and then the option 3, i receive an error saying it's no possible to root my phone.
So... how can root the WFS now??
I find this thread , but i'm on S-ON.
Can i follow the tutorial anyway (requirements are A Wildfire S with unlocked bootloader or S-OFF.) or i can not??
There is another way to root my phone??

I ve been using tutorial from thread you linked while being only unlocked ( still S-ON ) and it worked, i guess you can give it a try aswell.
