[Q] Not able to connect to computer at all? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey everyone, I'm having a problem where I cannot connect to my computer at all. I have tried installing all the drivers and I even reset my phone back to stock. Nothing is working. I cannot even connect to Odin. Can anybody help? Currently running stock touchwiz on Telus i747. Cannot connect to windows 7 or Mac.
Things I have tried:
Resetting phone to full stock
Reinstalling drivers
Reinstalling Kies
Trying different roms
Trying different cables
Trying different computers
I will connect the phone to the computer and nothing will show up at all. The computer just isn't recognizing it, yet it charges.

Not right now. I reset the whole thing to see if that would work and I still can't connect. Should I root it again?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk 2

It has nothing to do with rooting.
If your on stock, have you tried installing Kies?
Edit your original post to what steps you have done as your problem is too vague.

Try to uninstall the drivers you already have.(im pretty sure the prograam is like samsung mobile something). then dowlload samsung kies and it should install the drivers for you! then if you still are running in to problems you should click troubleshoot with Kies and it should work fine because its gonna reinstall the drivers again...
just wondering when u insert ur phone does it make a sound to ur computer does it say anything is connected ?

Have you tried accessing your phone through the AirDroid app? It allows you to upload and manage your files from your Web browser. It's not a fix to your problem but it could help in the immediate future.

Is the cable/USB port working? Onetime I struggled for an hour, just to realise that it wasn't properly plunged in.

And I try to reroot my device to switch to a back up of my old 2.2 butnone of the drivers will work, and I've tried it on 3 computer 2 with 7 one wth xp and ill try on vista when my computer works. I've also tried the z4root app but it just force closes and does nothing. What can I do? Or does anyone have advice.... I posted this somewhere else and since I'm new I guess I put it on the wrong section

Uninstall the device from your computer via Device Manager. Then install the Sammy drivers, then plug your phone in.

Works on mine too, but i have 64bit windows 7. Not a huge fan of Kies tho.

I'm on Win7 64-bit and latest kies, says can't identify device or something like that.
Dont have an SGS2 yet, but i know my tab wont connect to kies unless I'm using stock launcher. If I'm using adw/launcherpro, it wont connect to kies at all. Thought I would mention this, just in case.
Kies not working surprise surprise.
Glad everything else is working brilliantly.

Have you tried Kies Air?
Supposedly it works better with the phone and much easier.
It uses any web browsers to upload or down info into and out of your phone. Pretty awesome stuff.
I deleted twlauncher.apk as I don't intend to use it. Kies worked fine before and won't connect now. But Kies air works great.
Could someone post the twlauncher.apk for me so I can put it back for now.
Thanks

i think ill only use if there ever a update for phone as seems to be a dodgy program lol
I cant get it to work either. even with the version posted in the thread here i cant get past "connecting"
Is it possible to update firmware with Kies air? I tried it but it just seemed to be for transferring music/photos.
Honestly, Kies has never worked for me. Not on my Cappy nor my SGS and truthfully it doesn't really matter. There are so many other ways to do backups and transfers that work much better. Also if you are worried about updates, someone will have it posted within the hour.
Also the "keep connection" problem here.
It just gets no connection. Yesterday and before yesterday it was working (even with root) but now it's not working anymore...
Don't know why..

Phone recognized as unknown device when in download mode?

So I cannot for the life of me get my windows 7 64 bit to recognize my phone in download mode. I have installed and uninstalled and installed the samsung mobile driver to no avail. When I try to use the extracted drivers I get a "the best driver is already installed" message. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Www.samsung.com/support. Click on sprint, d700, then press select. Select "software". Then to the very right click on the little file and it will download the drivers.
Before u do this, uninstall ur so called existing drivers.

Also make sure you are using the ports that are directly hooked to the motherboard (the back)... and not the stock cable... use an htc or blackberry or some other heavy duty cable... these epics are very finicky!

Biggorron: how exactly do you advance install drivers? When I uninstall the unknown device it doesn't show up again until I scan for new hardware. Then it automatically installs a dummy driver for "unknown device"
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Schno, the method that I have stated above. That manually installs the appropriate drivers needed.

if the goal is to return to stock, why are you even messing around in recovery?? ... nvm. just read the thread i gave you. 100% positive that you'll make it this time. uninstall all drivers, reboot, then start the procedure, while efrant guides you to the light.

I'm sorry, if you tested another usb cable and you're perfectly sure you have fastboot and drivers for fastboot interface correctly installed, and already learned how to use the android/nexus/google tools, like adb and fastboot, then I think you need to read some of this. read it all. please. so that you can enjoy your device.
