5-6 hrs sometimes...

My HOX charges really quickly, I usually charge from 25%(ish) to full in a couple of hours. Yes (2) hours.
Is this something I should be concerned about, as the battery could be filling to quickly?
And my drain is relativly good (touch wood) as I've never had my HOX die on me to date.

Are you using the USB charger? It takes me just a little over 3 hours to charge from ~5% to 100% using the wall plug, but this time will double if you use USB, since it draws half as much current (500mA instead of 1A). Also, it you're using the phone while it's charging, it will take longer, because it will charge slower (charging current = total current from charger - usage current).

One X battery fix?

Okay so I presume all of you one X power users have noticed a the horrible battery performance. I only got my one x yesterday and I'm already frustrated with the fact that i yet again have to carry my charger around with me. Is there a fix? I have root and custom recovery. So if there is a fix for this please someone let me know.m
Since I flashed the Revolution HD I got excellent battery performance. Without doing too much stuff (just calling and texting), battery remains > 50% at the end of the day. I would really recommend that rom.
I've just flashed it, going to see how it goes. But I would've expected HTC to bang a beast of a battery for the beast of a processor and massive screen its gotta run. Oh well, still early days, hopefully we'll see massive software improvements.

Not really, no. Personally I did not unlock device, neither root it, neither installed any fix. And I must say that I'm more happy with battery life than I was with my previous phone SGS2. More then 16 hours here with 4 accounts synchronization on, 3g/wifi on, and sometimes gps + music on (for Endomondo). I'm really happy with my One X.
ARHD Rom, auto-brightness, plain wallpaper, no haptic feedback, no roaming, managing syncing, and a few other tweaks will leave this devices battery life as one of the best.

Yep. Relax. I got 6 hours from first charge, 10 hours from second charge, 12 hours from third charge...
After over two weeks I'm now getting between 18 and 24 hours. Give it a couple of weeks before judging battery life.

I try to use as much as I can the first few days, and time it so that you have about 10-30% charge left when you reach home from work/school and then I let it charge overnight.
I know quite a lot of time was spent idle, but 60% after 7 and a half hours isn't too bad http://twitter.com/Dev_Meltus/status/194082996767309825/photo/1/large
I've not really had a problem with battery life so far.

Have been seriously contemplating getting the One X.
My first choice had been the Galaxy S3..... but the One X seems the better choice.... I have had the iPhone 4 for almost 2 years, so now it's almost upgrade time If the Galaxy S3 had no physical home button I would be taking it.
Had been worried about the battery life of the one x but after reading these and a few others it seems worth it and it's available in black (dark grey but darker than S3 metallic blue)
I Just hope I don't have issues with app incompatibility for the apps I use on iPhone.
With normal usgae, I've got more than 10 hours after one charge. Not so happy with it but it's good enough for me.

have you got yourself the One X? if so, how is it compared with your previous phone?
i also want to swap my iphone 4 with One X and looking for different experiences especially with the battery life
I've turned everything off and left my phone on idle, my battery issue has persisted for over 6 months now (I bought it in Singapore on release day). With screen on min brightness, static wallpaper, most apps off, my battery drains fully within 6 hours. If I actually do anything with it like make phonecalls, it drains in hours. The battery phone is constantly hot, when on charge It's almost too hot to hold. If while on charge (AC) I use it to make a call, it complains that it's not receiving enough power. Should I look to get a replacement from HTC? I'm still using stock rom so it should be covered under warranty?
Sounds like the htc amaze battery overheat..
Also get gsam battery app.. it will tell you what apps are using what % of battery.
I also use advanced task manager from play store.. it proved to me how much gmaps Facebook and other bloat was ALWAYS RUNNING!.. I got root and froze it all with big improvements
Some of us who htc amaze w no warranty bought a new battery and that fixed it

2h30 min to fully charge the one x !?

So, is this normal to wait 2h30min and maybe more (!) to fully charge the phone ?

From about 15% mine takes 3 hours

Yes, normal - mine takes 2hrs 50mins which I think is not bad for such a large battery.
Although my battery bank charges my HOX in less time at 2hrs 35mins

How the hell are you draining in 8hrs - constant use?
Normal days without gaming gets me 17+ hrs
Even streaming all day via data connection gets me more than 8 hours.
I noticed when I got mine, I thought it had low battery as I was always using it, due to the 'ive got a New phone, can't leave it alone bug'
Normal usage, few calls, bit of browsing, bit of gameplay etc should get you through your working day quite easily.

@op, yes.
this is what i got last night before i plugged my phone in to charge.
i can easily get through a day without wondering where i can plug in my baby.
i get over a days use with my battery since the last software update... but charging time does seem fast.
is there such a thing as overcharging in terms of degrading battery life?
Please use one of the existing threads on battery life and charging time.
We already have plenty of them and would like to keep everything compact.

Battery drainage on HOX

My battery on the One X I think is bad, when I check facebook or Twitter on WiFi, it drains 1% every minute and it annoys me. Playing simple games also drains 1% every minute...really annoying. Is there a problem please help?

It happens to me as well, but only if I turn on WiFi and let the phone use it´s online services.
Hoping that the Jelly Bean update with Sense 4+ brings some kind of optimization.
I have my HOX configured pretty much like my SGS3 and my S3 lasts 20, 30% longer and about 7ºC colder.
Same here, kinda want to change my phone again if HTC doesnt fix this problem.
do a battery calibration, app like this works https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&feature=search_result
before the app 1 day usage = 60% of power left
after = 85% left
HTC made too much of the safty triggers for the battery if u use it lightly every day its minimizing side effects by making new one (less charge)
How long have you had your One X, OP? It takes several full charge cycles for the battery to calibrate, it's one thing about One X that's weird. I remember being completely disheartened with battery life when I first got mine - and it was horrible, pretty much like you've described it, 1% every minute or so - but only kept it because my mobile operator wouldn't replace it before making sure there is a hardware malfunction, which could have taken weeks, and I was impatient. Then I learned from xda that this slow calibration phenomenon is a thing with this phone.
I hope you're right svucinic811 I'm really getting worried here

Will this work even without rooting my phone? I'm running on Stock Sense 4.1, but this seems like it would help a lot.
As well, if you (for a couple days) go without charging your phone in the middle of the day and let it run down until you charge it again I think you will see some results in the battery life. My battery would die everyday before school ended for me (Wake up at 7:00 AM, Phone dead by 5:00 PM). Unless it was just a placebo affect for me, its worth a try.
Does anyone else has this problem where, yes the battery drains fast, but takes forever to get charged to 100% ? FYI, I'm using the real charger, not via PC~USB
how do i calibrate betterbatterystats?

What's forever? 3 hours is about normal, unless you're heavily using it.
You don't have to calibrate Better Battery Stats. Just charge it up to full, then wait for it to happen again. Open it up, choose Since unplugged (obviously you should not have plugged it in at any point of time since the full charge), then take a screen shot of Kernel Wakelock, Partial Wakelocks and Process.
@Rohin, USB Cable quality plays a big part as well. A cheap rubbish USB cable even connected to the wall socket charger can only charge at 300+mAh, while a good one can charge up to about 750+mAh. About 85%-90%, charging usually slows down to about 200-300mAh, then slows down even more as it approaches 100%.

[Q] Is it bad to keep One V connected to charger

I don't want to go too much offtopic in the PACman ROM topic as my questions have no more nothing to do with ROMs, so I make a new topic, maybe too asked, but with One V, is it safe to keep it plugged to charger all night, I mean does it make any bad things like ruin battery or something, no I am not talking about overcharge, but still should it be good, or is it bad to keep the phone plugged to charger all night so it would be ready at 100% on morning. I did read that batteries dont actually charge 100%, said it charges usually about 90-95% and that is why the first 10% will drain faster as it really is 90% instead of 100%. Is this the thing what happens with One V too, so can i keep it plugged in charger? Does it make battery life worse?
leaving your One V charging overnight IS Overcharging...
So... no, it's not a good idea to leave it charging overnight...
Everybody says its not the good way to charge the mobile over entire night. Haa haa from 6 years I do keep charging my cell over entire night. It doesn't make any difference to me.

I still am doing this and i think it it doesnt overcharge, but i am wondering does it make battery life worse as someone said so. If not, i guess i will continue my current way to charge, but i do know it doesnt overcharge. The thing i want to know is does it make battery life worse.

Now, what I found was:
"HTC One V - battery charging questions
Should be fine, the batteries use Lithium cells and have pretty good built in overcharge/run down prevention. They are designed to be left on the charge overnight and collected in the morning. They will charge rapidly over the first 1-2.4 hours (assuming a 3hr charge cycle) then slow down. Eventually it will just bounce off 100/99% as it charges/discharges." - from HTC...
"This "smart charger" is built into the phone. It slows down when it gets near capacity. In fact I think even the LED light goes green to indicate it's full at around 95% if I remember rightly (I read it on XDA."
"Advanced state-of-the-art internal circuitry protects the HTC One V from power surges, overcharging, and short-circuiting, to significantly extend the internal battery lifecycle."
"Is it OK to leave my battery plugged in, even if it is fully charged?
Yes, it won't hurt it as long as the battery doesn't overheat.
Source: http://www.batteryuniversity.com/partone-14A.htm
Should I remove the battery from the charger when full?
It does not matter. The charger automatically cuts the charge current when the battery is full."
So, after all that, whom to believe?
sooo after all experience is to believe and your surrounding persons and their experiences.. I've got my friend's note's battery swollen soo i wouldn't take a risk.. after all its your choice

one thing that really bugged me about the original Htc one is the long charging time around 3.5 to 4 hours to fully charge,,
did they fix that with the M8??
Maybe the problem is the wall adapter and not the phone (on HTC One S, 200mAh output on Nexus 4 1,2A output)
