How to reboot phone.

I have a T-Mobile G2 and just received the OTA Gingerbread update last night.
I don't know if its because of my phone or because of Gingerbread but I can't do the three finger salute (Power + Trackpad + Volume down) to restart my phone anymore.
Is there a new combination to restart the phone?
Restart your phone? When its off press the power button a few seconds.
Are you talking about booting into hboot? If so press volume(down) and power till the screen comes up.
If that's not what you mean you need to word your questions better

I don't know how I can reword my question any better.
But lets try.
Everything is stock and not rooted to avoid confusion.
Before Gingerbread update.
Pushing the Power button + Volume Down button + Trackpad button allowed me to do a soft reset of the phone.
Now with Gingerbread on my phone, that combination of keys doesn't work anymore.
Now I'm wondering if there is a different combination to achieve this task other than holding the power button and turning phone off and on.
Volume down, camera, and power. Reboot system.

That didn't work.
Did you try Vol up instead of Vol Down ? Normally anyone of the combinations should work(not only reboot, but anything like usb-mode or so)

[Q] What do if your phone bootloops or crashes?

Normally if a phone bootloops/crashes you remove the battery. Seeing as this phone lacks the ability to do so, what do you do if your phone bootloops/crashes ?
If you press and hold the power button for 10 seconds it acts as if you pulled the battery

Volume Up + Volume Down + Power
3 finger salute works. Work made me attend a HTC training seminar the other day.

Power button hold

So I noticed since jb that when I hold the power button it takes the menu a good amount longer to pop up which is a pain since I usually use it to change your phone volume without going past the lock screen is there a file I can alter to shorten the the time I have to hold it? Thanks.

You know you can change the volume in the pull down notification toggles right?

I noticed that as well, and now there is an additional pop up that says "to restart your phone, continue to hold power button for 3,2,1(countdown) seconds"
And yes, to adjust volumes I just pull down the notification bar and hit settings. Or choose the sound profiles option in the pull down, if it's not already there, to toggle ring volume settings.
Or you can just press the volume rocker.

That option has been there forever with this device. It simulates a battery pull, all of the internal battery devices utilize this.

Power Button

To turn on my Nexus 7 I have to hold the power button for a few seconds before the unit powers on. I was wondering if this is normal

Do you mean, completely turned off or just waking up ?
For powered down device, you need to hold it for few seconds to turn it on ,however, if you are waking it up from sleep (that is device is turned on and screen has gone into sleep mode), just touching it will turn your nexus back.
I hope this helps
I thought I was the only one to notice this....I feel like I have to push the power button for quite a long time before anything turns on, around 5-6 seconds
yep to turn the device from off (not standby) i also have to hold the button for about 5 seconds before the google logo appears.

It's normal to have to hold the power button on button for a few seconds for the unit to power on from an off state.

Whats the easy way to manually go to Recovery Mode?

Press vol up and power until the lg logo and the boot error message (that appears on top left corner) come up, release power button but keep holding vol up until cwm appears.

is possible to go to "stock recovery" if the phone is not rooted yet and no custorm recovery?
Note: My friends phone has a lot of files and he forgot the pin and its phone is crack and unresponsive screen.

I have E988, and usually what i do to be able to get into recovery would be pressing both power and volume up button at the same time till the first LG logo appears and disappears. Then I release the power button, after which I do combinations of <2 down button presses then press the power button>, up until after the second LG logo appears and disappears, then recovery finally shows up. However I'm not sure about stock recovery though as i have cwm

Its kinda confusing. I tried your method but I only get a black screen and a blinking LED home button when I press the vol down and power together.
