[Q] Popping sound? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone else noticed their Note 2 making a slight pop sound every now and then?
I noticed it when the keyboard tap sounds are on, it sounds as if the speaker hisses then pops.

Many devices have this. Nobody has been able to figure it out, so we just chalk it up to normal - but still annoying.

Try factory reset first
I ahve had this problem also, but it has only happend while charging. It acts like the back button is pushed continously. I only noticed this once I switched to a six foot USB cable.

I have tried factory reset that fixed camera but still opening and closing things randomly...even when not connected to power source of any kind

How do you use the screen recorder?

Thanks
The demo video from Samsung shows recording the screen. I understand that it was disabled. But, has it been added ti any roms? If so how do you use it?

Pretty sure it's not a feature. Not sure why.
Seems like it would be awesome
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
It could be useful
I haven't tried it, but I remember seeing something in the camcorder saying "self record". I would look around in there. Otherwise, if you're rooted, you can try out Screencast. I haven't used it on the GN2, but worked pretty good on the Evo 4G.
+1 on Screencast. Used it to help another GN2 owner.

I will check out screencast

I found the self record in the camcorder and it's just the front camera.
yup. thank the mpaa. you night record something of Netflix with this feature. go to jail. if only you could rename this feature "vcr" then I suppose that would solve the legal issues

But in battery it still says discharging could it be my battery? Because I tried other chargers but its all the same...

Especially when running Google Maps. I love the phone but had to revert back to S3
It's drawing more power than the USB connection can provide.

It seems to be the usual explanation for that kind of problem, but if you're stock and fairly clean and it happens on every charger, then it may very well be something else...not sure exactly what though.

Stuttering on stock note 2

I have a completely stock galaxy note 2. For some reason sometimes when I pull down the notification bar and the icons are scrolling across the top you can easily see stuttering. Scrolling through some menus sometimes as well. Is there something I can do to fix this or is it a hardware problems?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium
Since you're completely stock I would be taking it back to where I bought it, that doesn't sound right.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
Sometimes the phone will do this when it's pulling data or installing something or looking for updates. Don't think there is really a fix for this besides maybe a custom rom

With it on it produces the same symptoms

Help trying to find out the issue with my phone?

Ive keep being told that everyone hears an echo while I on my side don't hear an echo. Idk if its my phone or what. I tried different roms, and can confirm its not the rom. I also have an otterbox case on my phone. Any ideas before I go back to stock and warranty exchange it?

Have you tried calls without the case on? I had the same issue years ago with an iphone 3g with an otterbox case on...took the case off...no echo

How do you do that
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
two things cause this...
First wifi calling to another voip number..
you can limit this by Turning volume down. and while in call tap menu button and turn off the noise reduction. Had this issue two days ago.. I was going Insane..
I also have otter box defender case. Case has nothing to do with it.. Your Mic is picking up your speaker and transmitting it back to the speaker..

Actually its not a echo on my end. More of the caller constantly hear themselves echo. I think its the phone itself, and I have to return to stock to exchange the phone. Its a shame, because I had my phone set up nicely sigh. Just thinking about selling my note 2 smh. Freaking lemon I got.

It's a kind if common problem in Samsung phones. The mic picks up them and send it back over. It's usually fixed my turning off noise reduction, did you try that?

I actually did and the caller on its end still heard echos.

That's happened to me before but it's completely random for me. Most times, they have me on speakerphone so they hear an echo. Most likely not your phone. There are a lot of factors that play in, including different wave interferences and stuff.
But since you mention that everyone hears an echo.. I am probably wrong.

I asked because I had to cut out the flaps that cover the charging and earphone ports in order to get rid of the echo.
