Xperia Play "Vertical Problem" - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey , Okay so i have this huge problem with my xperia play , i was running it on stock GB (rooted) and i did a few app updates via the playstore. Then i knew my phone was running a tad slow. it was still working fine but was running much slower than usual. so i ignored it for abit then realised my phone was doing this problem!

it was freezing all the time! anyway i got flashtool an re-installed the stock gb to clear the problem it cured it for about 10 mins then all the same problems occurred. i soon realized that my phone would work 100% when the phone was slid up to horizontally. but when it was slid back down to vertical it just froze. So i thought i could be a problem with GB so i installed cynogenmod 9 and it never cured the problem.
I am really confused i have only had the phone for about 4 month with no other problems until now. i am gutted .
Is there anyone that could shed some light on this situation please? Any info is much appreciated.
Many Thanks
Alex
P.S : Could this be a graphics problem that's gone wrong inside?
Edit: the phone still rings and is still active when its slid down. Just cannot see nothing through them crash lines. I also fount out that if you slid the phone down slowley it creates a huge black line through the screen and starts to be blury.

This is really starting to be annoying theres nothing online about this.. some tech head must know something haha!

[Q] Strange problem

The three touch sensitive key lights turn off when the phone is locked but stay on at all other times. I think it happened when I installed ether esfile explorer or mxplayer. I've restarted the phone numerous times and tried clearing the cache and uninstalled reinstalled the programs.
Has anyone else come across this? Do I have to do a factory reset? I've only just got my phone working how I wanted it
Try using the phone in the daylight. Only comes on when not light for me.
Es file explorer is also installed on mine.

As far as I know my touch sensitive keys have always stayed lit when the phone is awake. I was running the phone completely stock for around a week before I unlocked the bootloader, rooted and then flash a custom rom and kernel.
I cant say I ever noticed a difference in the behaviour of the softkeys lighting.
DAMIT!! Just did a factory reset and it was still there. then I turned the light on and now the keys have turned off. What a fool! Still annoying having them on when trying to watch a film in the dark.
Ah well can't hurt since I did my first 100% to 0% tonight. Got around 2.50mins on screen time with loads of downloading and playing on games. Hopefully it'll improve a little next charge.
Still feel stupid though!
Oh my.

In fairness I do think there is an issue with MXplayer as who want those bright lights distracting you when your watching a film. But yeah..

Camera problem with one V - showing weird/inverted colors

Hey
I've had this phone for two weeks now, and i rooted it after a week.
Since i rooted it my camera has not been working correctly. It's showing up very strange colors. In indoor lighting almost everything is blue without flash. Outdoors it seems like its inverted, blue is showing up as brown, etc...
It's not the only problem with the camera. Sometimes pictures i take looks distorted with just lines in it. Also when i zoom enough, it looks distorted.
I dont know much about the ROM, im not very good at this stuff. I just rooted it with a file called "r1-primo-superboot" using this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869667
I've tried searching a lot this problem on various forums, but looks like no one else has this problem with this device.
However, looks like other devices also had this problem, but the solution has always been resetting your settings or pushing the camera lens. Neither of those works on me. Also since i rooted it, the phones warranty is void so im currently not bringing it back to the store.
I have tried factory reset, camera data clearing, nothing helps.
Thanks for everyone who tries to solve this.

Nexus has grainy screen

Hey all; I got a Nexus 7 this past December and everything was working great until yesterday.
I took it out of my school bag and when I pressed the wake button this happened:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now whenever I wake up my Nexus the same thing happens. Sometimes it goes back to normal after a few seconds, but it continually freezes or has random slow downs.
I reset the device and erased all my data and whatnot, but still the same has happened.
Any suggestions?
What ROM are you running, stock or custom? Try reflashing a ROM (let us know if you aren't familiar with that) in case something's corrupted. Hopefully it isn't something with hardware.
This should be a hardware failure.Take it to the service.
@Pandae: Everything was stock. @GeoVali99: Correct-o, sir!
Ended up being a hardware issue so I'm getting it repaired.
I appreciate the words though!
Hi!
I've got the same problem.
Can someone tell me how to fix that Problem by my self?
I have no guaranty left...
Thanks!

Not a big deal. The LCD is fine. What happened in my case when I got exactly the same screen is that the amber ribbon (LCD to motherboard) seated wrong, and I bent a pin on the motherboard connector out of shape. You open the back cover and reseat it, but make sure you do not damage the pins. In other words do it very gently, do not force anything, and monitor it all with the help of a magnifying glass.

Screen has blue green yellow vertical lines

It was perfectly fine for a day and a half until I put it back on the charger for about one hour and then the screen was like that. Tried fixing it by resetting and restarting and turning it off overnight. Still like this.
I'd like to note that it was fixed when I changed to the convergence watch face for about 5 minutes after shutting it off for about an hour but it came back in 5 minutes. I feel like there is a solution if it managed to fix itself even if only for 5 minutes. Has anyone had this problem.
I did contact Motorola and had my case escalated so another question is if this does need to be replaced, how long does it take.
Same issue
I too am seeing the same thing on my silver 360. It just started out of the blue about thirty minutes ago. I have tried resetting charging and erasing. I'm still having the issue. I will most likely contact motorola ASAP.
I would say that either the screen is faulty or there's an issue with the SoC.

Nothing out of the ordinary, just watch faces really. I'm so lost because when I got home today, I managed to fix the problem by deleting the android wear apps on my phone. It was 1 o'clock now it's 9 o'clock and it somehow has come back. ;( I don't know why! And I can't fix it this time
It's definitely a hardware issue (bad memory I think) and software could avoid it if it knows where the bad memory is, but it's hard to know how much memory would be left. If there's not enough good memory then it would be forced to use bad space...
Sadly I think it needs to be "refurbished"

Lag??

Hi,
Just bought an LG G3 D855 16GB European model. Its running official Lollipop software (see pic) and im using the stock launcher. Ive used Nova and Apex and makes no difference to my problem. I'm experiencing lag and have done the mods where you turn on "high temperature property" and "thermal daemon mitigation" on. This has fixed it a bit but still getting random pauses and lag. I have also turned down animations to 0.5x and still have lag. For instance i open the messaging app and it opens with a little bit of lag but when i click a message it takes sometimes 3-4 seconds to open that message. Also when opening settings it lags for a second sometimes. Cant believe a device so powerful (even taking into consideration the big resolution) can lag so much.
Please View My Video and let me know if im going mad or it is lag and how to overcome it?

Thats normal, no lag there.

Normal? It took 3 seconds for the message to open. I wouldn't call that normal for a phone in 2014. I sold it yesterday.
Matt
That was normal lol...What if your next smartphone lags in opening for example Gallery and not in message? Will you sell that too?
Good luck in finding the lag free super duper smartphone !
