Anyone know where I can to buy a "usb male" to micro usb female cable/ adaptor?
I have something I want to try, but I would need one of these if possible.
Any ideas?

What would you want to try with that?
Are you referring to something like this:
ebay.com/itm/Hot-Mini-A-5P-5Pin-USB-Male-To-Micro-B-5P-5Pin-USB-Female-Extension-Data-Cable-/290699800110?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item43af0eee2e
only then with the full type-a plug on the male end?

I thing he means for Micro USB otg cable. You can get them for a dollar on Ebay.

No I mean a normal (not otg) that has a full sized usb male side to a micro usb female side.
Oh well I guess they don't exist.

you can always buy the two cables from a thrift store and then splice the cables yourself.

So are usb cables just connectors? Like can I just wire each pin to the exact opposite pin? Or is it more complex than than?

How to use the MHL adapter

I am really ignorant in the ways of using an mhl adapter. I ordered an adapter and and hdmi cable. The adapter has a port on one end for plugging the hdmi cable into to. The other end has a micro usb that plugs into my phone. On the side of it is micro usb port. Do I need to plug a power source into that port on the side in order for it to work?

Yeah man it's pretty lame. If the length of the HDMI doesn't limit movement (when playing games) then the power cable sure will haha.
I bought a good thick usb cable of the same length as my hdmi cable. my tv has both hdmi & usb ports so for now I'm a pretty happy camper. All I'm missing are bluetooth keyboard and mouse

[Q] usb host - what adapter to get?

I'm a bit lost with this usb-a and usb-b stuff.
Should I get USB-A to USB-B Micro or USB-A to USB-A Micro?
I want to use this phone as host for various DSLR's. I'm rooted and have all the software needed for this.

So it doesn't matter if the micro male is a or b? I get the regular female side...

You need an OTG Micro-USB B to Standard-A receptacle.
Could you share what exactly you want to so with dslr's?
Im a photographer and would love to use my Gnex as an alternative to Nikon's 700 euro WT-4 wireless adapter!

If you've got a spare DSLR you can send it to Chainfire so he can write code for the Nikon variant of DSLR Controller!

Excellent! Thank you, very much.
The dslr controller should work cause I use 5D mark II. But I'm more interested using this as portable hdd and then send my pictures via ftp/email to the image developer back in our firm. AFAIK this should be possible. We'll see how it goes....

No. it has the mini-USB to plug into the phone on one end, and a USB connection to plug into whatever on the other, but the cord is coiled as well.

1. New phones use Micro usb, not mini
2. How difficult was this to search for yourself on ebay? "coiled micro usb"
http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from...kw=coiled+micro+usb&_sacat=See-All-Categories
or retractable usb?
http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Ret...id=1345753631&sr=8-1&keywords=retractable+usb
more here.. these aren't very reliable since they usually wear out from constantly retracting.. i'd pick the motorola here, more durable, and the usb won't pull out the socket since it's integrated, but whatever floats your boat
I think this is what you want

Charging while using USB OTG?

I use USB OTG pretty often and I want to be able to charge my device while using it for other things. Is there any type of splitter from microUSB (Male) to USB 2.0 female + microUSB female OR from microUSB male to 2x microUSB female?
EDIT: Found this using Google- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856663
I would like to know the same thing. I noticed that Samsung sells a USB OTG cabe and was wondering if it has the ability to connect a charger to it like the HDMI adapter has. I'm surprised that no one is interested in charging their devices while using USB OTG. Someone please comment, is this possible or not. Thanks!!
