[Kernel][Apr 26] Perseus - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

This is a direct port of my kernel on the international I9300 Galaxy S3 and sidekick to the international N7100/5 Note 2 kernels.
Recap of features:
CPU overclocking up to 1.8GHz and undervolting from 600mV to 1400mV.
GPU overclocking and undervolting.
GPU scaling reworked.
Screen sharpness and colour modifications.
Extended Pegasusq and improved Performance governors.
Removed Touch Booster and replaced with custom Flexrate mechanic.
Improved scheduler power management for improved idle residencies on auxiliary CPUs.
USB charging rate limit increased to 900mA.
Application for control of various settings.
This is supposed to be merely a proxy thread. Please refer to the N7100/5 thread for full changelogs, explanations, bug-reports and other issues. Kernel for specific device versions will be posted here.
This kernel is for the North American Sprint variant SPH-L900. Versions for other variants are found in their respective forums.

Thanks for your work on this and allowing me to test! We really appreciate it! And this kernel runs really well!!

Yes, that's why it's posted here... and either through Odin or CWM/TWRP.

This is awesome, I was just wondering if we there was going to be a lack of original development on the carrier specific models. Thanks a lot for this AndreiLux, and thanks for testing Viperboy.

So you can just flash it through twrp like when flashing a rom. There is a tar file and than a cwm zip file.
Would i use the zip if flashing with twrp?
So is there ever any reason one would need odin

Yes the zip is for CWM/TWRP and the .tar is for Odin. In my case I had to use Odin to flash the insecure boot.img before able to install a custom recovery, if there is another way I am not aware, Not sure how Chainfires tool does it.

I asked about this as well. Some phones can handle 1.9 or 2.0 but the voltage bump was a little bit much. Stock highest voltage is like 1312mv, I think AndreiLux said. Don't wanna overvolt too much.

I think I'm noticing touchscreen issues. I have to smash my finger to make it see the touch. When scrolling I have to tap and wait .1 seconds before swiping otherwise nothing happens. This is very noticeable in things like the browser.

Actually he includes really extensive instructions in his description in the market, and in the app. It actual is more user friendly than the ODIN on the computer. It knows what you're flashing based off the file type selected and automatically readies your phone for everything, even going so far as to block off access to other options which would cause damage to your phone. Plus its impossible to lose root and it doesn't up your Odin binary counter OR cause that awful yellow triangle. This is a God send.

Yeah I read all of that. I think the past that I was confused about was the kernel you needed to download in order for it to work. What is the point of that extra file and will it change the kernel that is built into the ROM?

What do you mean the extra file? The extra file it downloads to get itself working when you first open the app? I'm not sure what it is.. I just assumed it was the rest of the program to cut down on a huge download from the market. But I'm not sure.

Whether you buy the app or use the free version it still uses that file and my question was what that file actually is for not if the app is worth $2.
Not sure if I am unlucky or what, but I can't get mobile Odin to flash anything correctly. I've had boot loops, stuck at Samsung splash screen and it just plain not flashing what it said it did. I am disappointed I paid for this app. Regular Odin is much more reliable.

There was a glitch he had to fix along the lines of what you're experiencing. His fix was pushed through the market. And then be asked us all to delete the file that the app downloads initially so that it could redownload an updated version. That should fix your issues. Mobile Odin has been nothing but reliable for me :-\

Stryke's Darko Build FI03 [DEPRICATED]

Rom is FI03 based (thanks Crawj), Kuban kernel (thanks Rujelus) added extended power menu ( thanks Timmetal ), AOSP lockscreen (Thanks _dan) and a few others that I forgot which ones went into this rom, and which ones went in the update I'm building now..
Also I would like to thank Pinky and the Brain (the real sitek and fryingpan) for the digital clock they made me it looks sick in here guys
I have the rom in two parts, one is stock look with mods the other is the theme. Only thing that didn't want to work were the sounds that accompanied the theme, so they are in the rom itself (sorry, they didn't want to flash from the original zip)
If you run into problems the only thing I ask is that you let me know how it's working for you. I will try to help as best I can. I can't fix what I don't know about
The usual disclaimer : I am not responsible for anything you choose to do with your device. This rom has been tested, I ran it myself for a few weeks before g_ding convinced me to release to test , and so far the only issues are known and stated below. If for some reason you/ your device are/become volatile, late for work/school, happen to cause the third world war, etc... You knew what could have happened.
Enjoy!
As always do a complete wipe, data/cache/dalvik
Rom is Link Removed - Project Dead
Theme is Link Removed - Project Dead named FrameworkMods.zip
NOTE: You have to flash the rom, let it boot, then flash the theme. Thank you to all the testers who confirmed this.
Thanks guys

I'm on stock MDB with root. Used CWM to flash. So far no issues. I don't see frequencies higher than the 1.9 for OC at this time. I also have a triangle in notification bar telling me the device has some modification and saying to reboot, coming from SEAndroid. But I doesn't bother me really. Overall still works. I suppose I could freeze the SEAndroid and the notification would go away.

I think you might wanna focus on flashing a custom ROM that already has it removed (almost all of them do), as it's easier than decompiling and recompiling an apk.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I'm talking modified TouchWiz, GApps are definitely not a problem to get tho. The only licensing issue was that Google wanted them separate from the ROM. And they are.
Roms
I see.Took the first step to install a rom and downloaded rom manager(free) (already rooted btw). I read some complaints in reviews so I uninstalled. I am curious if the paid version would be better as I heard it has a whole menu of roms in which to choose for my specific model phone Is this the track to be on for a custom rom that you speak of? Thanks.

Thanks.

DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER ON THIS DEVICE!!! It is not supported. Use Mobile Odin to flash a custom kernel such as Agat's in Original Development. Tar file is used with Mobile Odin.

+1 ROM manager will lead to serious issues, take it from an experienced user. I made a lot of Noob mistakes before I landed on these forums with this device, that was one of them. I was lucky and found the resources to fix my device, but none of them work with jellybean.

I actually made a zip for micmars that did exactly that. All you have to do is flash it in cwm. I'll try to find it today. And +2 on the not using ROM manager. App is dangerous!

Xblast looks like something I may be interested in.

No Rom required
SO,I definetly am throwing in the towel on custom Rom's.Which leads me to ask if after I uninstall Busy Box it will cause misbehaviour on my phone.I did not select to install the applets but do have Busy Box installed. Should I select this app to be uninstalled from the play store or the app itself? On a separate note-I installed an app which was supposed to remove Sprint from the lockscreen but didn't hence removal of this app is pending.

I'm talking modified TouchWiz, GApps are definitely not a problem to get tho. The only licensing issue was that Google wanted them separate from the ROM. And they are.

Thanks much for your hard work Freeza and DeeXii
Testing, hopefully will be just as stock. Nothing like a stock kernel, been missing it all this time
This one is significantly better then the 1.8 rage version, much faster without the lag and sound gain lock

Thanks deexii and freeza for updated kernel.
I'm going to run this kernel for one day and see how it stands with normal usage I'll then compare that with v1.8 another day.
For some reason old 1.1 rage has been more efficient in comparison for me, for the time being

The goal is to get the DOK2 one to be as efficient and Beast as 1.1.
A few experienced some call audio issues on 1.1.
Plus its based on the N910P and not DOK2.
Working on it...
finally a stock dok2 kernel. thanks!!! hoping for some awesome battery stats.
I like this kernel. But my phone had not gone into deep sleep. I am on OvrDrive rom.
Update. I changed kernel to 1.1 beastmode now its deepsleeping again.

As promised here are the screenshots I have obtained by keeping the phone on with all radios on. I'm going go continue leaving the phone unplugged remainder of the day.

Just a reminder I left the phone on as soon as it hit 100% not sure if these screenshots have actual meaning as of now but the kernel does allow for some great deep sleep!

Did you try clearing cache and dalvik?
This kernel has no tweaks mod or anything.. just root restriction disabled.
So not sure about all that.

Well when you flash kernel after kernal after kernal you may or may not run into an issue at some point, it's the same thing as dirty flashing some people run into issues some dont, but when you do you know it's time to clean flash
