Which will get most Dev support? 4G lte or 3g international??? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I am getting a note 2 sometime in the UK ext couple of months, but i cant decide between the galaxy note 4G lte, or the 3g version.
I was just wondering:
Which device do u think will get most Dev support?.
Which device will most people be buying?.
And is the 4G version still called the international version? Or is it a carrier branded version that company's have imported??.
Will the 4G version get the official firmware updates the same time as the 3g version? Or will u have to wait longer on the 4g?.
Thanks in advance
Cheers

There is or was allready a similar thread mate, but to answer the question i guess the Inetrnational N7100 (3G) would be the most supported one.

Yeah the N7100 appears to be heavily supported at the moment, the N7105 should get simular support as it grows in numbers.

Why is the 3g note 2 have more android devs working on it..

Than the LTE?
It's been out for longer.
Also, a lot of networks (in the UK at least, dunno how well it's been rolled out in other countries) don't even offer LTE yet.

I have been Telling people this from the the beginning. International versions of phones alway get more support. Too many people being ignorant and just talking about there LTE and how superior it is to the international note 2. Now have seen this question on xda too many times about people being upset they don't have much support for there LTE note 2. Cant wait for the port of Android 4.2 for the international version while LTE user will wait for over a year for the update lol. Carrier phones are doomed from the start with updates. Don't make a silly mistake. Grab yourself an international version so that you can enjoy your roms and updates. Also because its only 3g you will have better battery life than the LTE version.

International Note 2 or AT&T Note 2?

I have a galaxy s 3 but am getting ready to buy a Note 2 off contract. Since there the same hardware and same price should I go with INT version for more developer support?

I guess if you don't need LTE. The H+ N7100 one is the only one of the international ones with a lot of support. Most the International LTE guys are using AT&T roms it seems. Last time I was in the N7105 section of the international forums, there wasn't a whole lot going on.
Get the at&t version. Since the phones are the same any new update the international lte one gets we can port over easy!!!!

1+ only reason I'm going with the AT&T variant. Lte speeds plus ported roms from the international thread!

[Q] Note II LTE on 3G

Hi,
My Missus is on EE and I'm on O2. She's going to upgrade to a Note II and swap it with my iPhone 4S. Will the LTE variant work on O2's network or will she need to get the non LTE variant??
Cheers
It will work fine on 3g, maybe the lte might or might not have the right frequency for O2 network when they roll it out.

[Q] Anybody know if T-Mobile HD Voice works on Note II?

As mentioned in title there is a new feature out that can be read about here > HD Voice News
I'm wondering if anyone knows whether it works for Note II as well. They only list 3 phones on the story, however it doesn't explicitly exclude other phones. Just curious.
I was wondering that myself, my coworker had me call his friend that was on a Nexus 4 and the call seemed to be very clear, but I couldn't tell whether it was "HD Voice" or not since there is no indication of it on either of our phones.
We have the required chip, but I don't think the required settings in the firmware are active.

Did some research found this quote "The new SKU will apparently launch before the network goes live with the LTE radios disabled, but once the towers are up and delivering the juice T-Mobile will issue a software upgrade to enable them. Those who bought the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 may not need a new phone, though, as that phone did come with the dormant LTE radios during its first run. We imagine T-Mobile will issue a similar software upgrade for it"

Ok, but that is talking about lte radio, not the hd voice chip.

I work for t-mo
HD Voice only works, at least for now, on the:
- HTC one S,
-Nokia Lumia 810,
-GS3
GN2 is yet to be confirmed but what we do know is that it only works between T-MO phones and it HAS to be amongst these 3. ****FOR NOW AT LEAST****

If the GS3 can do it then we can do it. It just needs a patch for the firmware to use it. Which will probably come out when we have our LTE radios turned on.
What does it have to do with LTE getting switched on. Current GS3 doesnt even have an LTE radio.

Read the press release again. Current GS3 owners got jipped. T-Mobile is re-releasing the GS3 with an LTE radio.

It doesn't directly but when they patch our phone to turn on LTE they will probably enable hd voice also. Radio has nothing to do with HD voice. HD voice is dependent on the sound codec on our phone, but it makes sense to do it when you are already patching the system.
I expect the exynos security patch and maybe even 4.2 before LTE.

Well I expect LTE very soon. What would be the point of turning on LTE in Vegas if you have no phones that support it. They plan to do it in the next couple of weeks.

Well I can be the optimist and you can be the pessimist. I don't see the point of rolling out two or three software updates in a one year when they can address it all in one big update. The international note 2 doesn't even have 4.2 yet. I bet we see 412 with HD Voice and LTE radio enabled first.
Yup - we'll see. Btw, battery life might take a hit if the LTE radio is switched on. We might not want it on too soon.

My friend has an AT&T Note 2 in an LTE market and he still gets about 16 hours of regular use. I get about 16 - 18 with regular use so we will see. LTE radios have gotten better at using batteries. I remember that the first killed batteries like they were going out of style.
The other piece I wondering about is what happens when the LTE radio is activated in a non-LTE market. Does it go searching for signal in some way like the regular cell radio in a poor signal area. That is murder on the battery.

Good question. I am sure they will put a toggle to turn it on and off. How does the Note2 LTE and GS3 LTE handle it, I wonder.

[Q] question regarding tmobile LTE

Hello, i have been reading on tmobile rolling out 4g LTE sometime this year as they have done testing in kansas city and las vegas, and i live in kc. If i had the international version or an unlocked at&t version, would i be able to stick my sim card in and turn the lte on when and if they upgraded to it? Ive heard a few people say that you would be able to, but im asking this site as i know its more reliable. Thank you for your time and consideration!
I believe the international version doesn't have lte support( except for the Korean version) and the at&t version wouldn't have the bands for tmobiles lte but you would b able to pick up their 3g I believe

now with that being said, since the us version has the lte modem built into it, shouldnt they be able to push out an update enabling it?

Only the US Note 2 for T-Mobile has a built in LTE Modem that supports their upcoming network. (And the Nexus 4 wink wink )
