[Q] Random warm/shell reboots - LG Optimus G (International)

Dunno if this is an issue with wifi but it happens every now and again and I'm sure I've only noticed it while I'm using wifi. I m rooted and still have all stock apps. Anyone else experiences this?

Juice defender maybe the cause
Well it might just be an issue with juice defender gonna see if it happens again now that it's uninstalled

[Q] Wi-Fi Error

Hello!
I don't know it is only me or not but after my Epic 4G with the Froyo running for a day or two without reboot, If I'm trying to turn on Wi-Fi, after half minute or longer I'm getting the message 'Error" and can't run Wi-Fi. It is working only after I'm turning my phone off and then turning it on again.
Can somebody help me with it? Maybe you have some recommendation what to do?
Thank you!

Are you using juice defender? I noticed that problem a lot when I have juice defender running.

I get this but not always. Wifi always works the first time after the phone is turned on, but after that it's about 50-50 for me whether it will come on again the next time I try vs. if I'll have to reboot the phone. I'm on Quantum 2.7 with EXT4, no juice defender/app killer/anything like that.
Unfortunately, I have no solution for you (or me), but I have found that I have a slightly better chance of getting wifi to actually turn on if I do it from the "settings" menu, rather than the status bar button.
Yes. I have a juicedfender. You think it might be the problem?
It's the DK28 rom that is the problem. The one you are running is based on the leak. I had the same problem when I installed the leaked update. Wifi would cut off sometimes and when I turn it on from the notification area it would try for a bit then say error. Going through settings to turn it on would work.
Didn't have juice defender so I'm pretty sure that isn't the prob. Soon as I switched back to DI18 never any problems.

For me with juice defender it happened very often. Without it not as much.

In no way is it Juicedefender that is causing this issue. Juicedefender simply causes the wifi to be turned on more often so you notice it more, IF you have it set that way.
This is a DK28 issue. It happened to me every day when I was running the stock DK28. It has happened to me a lot less often, actually not at all, from running custom roms based on DK28, but I have only been running those for a few days. I have not intalled juicedefender on any DK28 rom I have run, so that is why I am sure it is unrelated to that program. My only theory is that juicedefender is just making the issue more apparent by constantly toggling the wifi.
I have the same issue and I dont have juice defender. I always thought it was after I had been using 4g but I do randomly get it and have to reboot. I'm on dk28 also
On any dk28 wifi only freezes itself.never ever works. ever. No JD or anything like that installed.

If I remember correctly instead of rebooting my phone when I would get that error on dk28 I would just go into the built in task manager, go to ram management and clear out both level 1 and 2. Then if I try to turn wifi on it usually works for me.

That worked for me as well. Also if you go into settings to the Wifi settings and disable it and re-enable it in there is usually worked for me.

That fixed it for me! Will I receive the official release if I installed the leaked 2.2 a few months ago?
Anyone has found a fix for this issue? I'm still getting it on EB13. Is there any utility included in Busybox (or custom) that we can reset the device manually?

I'm on EC05 and still have this problem. It seems that after several on/off cycles of the wifi it starts to do this. Rebooting solves it. Haven't tried the level 2 memory clearing. I'm running juice defender and a location-based app that toggles wifi on and off for me. Between the two, wifi gets toggles a lot.
I'm running EC05 stock, rooted.

[Q] Mrien Browser

Anyone else having trouble with Miren Browser running in background? The last two days watchdog has notified me that it is running unusually high. Watchdog has never notified me about anything else ever so I don't think that is broken but does any one else run Watchdog and have any luck with it?? Side note though even if it is running does not seem to be effecting battery life 10.5 hours and still have 68%. But I would always like better if possible.

Having issues with juice defender

I'm fairly confident its causing random reboot on my system.
MIUI 1.09.16 running tiamat kernal v. 1.13 and OC 1.4mhz.
I disabled it for two days and no random reboots. I turned it back on today and it just rebooted again.
I'm running that very same combo, minus juice defender, and I've had only one problem, and that was when I tried to upgrade to 1.9.23

me too. I was stuck on boot. I learned a lesson there.
Yeah I tried juice defender for a while, and while I didn't experience any random reboots, I still felt like it was a little bloated and was slightly slowing down my system.
Since it seemed like the main benefit of JD was automatically disabling my wifi when I left home, I disabled JD and now I'm using a program called Y5, which is a dedicated app for location-based wifi toggling. I'm liking it much more than juice defender.

I might give it a try. I haven't had any reboots today, that i've seen. If i keep having issues, I might give that a try.

[Q] Wifi and cell Reception stop working after screen is shut off?

When I turn off the screen of my phone, I lose my wifi and data connections. The icons of them in the status bar turn white rather than the usual green. The only way I have found to fix this is to put the phone in airplane mode then take it out. Which is really inconvenient EVERY time I want to use this. I know that when the WiFi turns green it means that the phone is connected to Google. But it never goes back from white to green even after I let it sit for a few seconds and try something to push data through. Even when it's green it doesn't work until I reset the radio.
Things to know:
1. I am rooted.
2. It is the AT&T LG Nitro HD (LG P930)
3. It is the V10f software version.
4. I have not tried a factory reset yet because of the hassle. Yes I know about titanium, it's just time consuming.
If anybody else has this problem, please let me know. Hopefully we can get this fixed.
Update: I fixed my problem by installing Wi-Fi fixer. But it still makes me mad that this occurs. Maybe we can try to find the source of the problem.

Maybe you are running some battery saving app like juice defender? Check the settings there.

Nope, I'm not running juice defender. The only task killing app I use is Advanced Task Killer which I only ever use when I need to quickly restart an app, I don't use it every 10 minutes like some people do.
I had a weird incident where I lost my wifi radio...wouldn't detect any wifi ssids...don't know what caused it. But your situation seems similar...sadly I have know idea how it got fixed...rebooted phone a couple of times and haven't had a problem since.

Juice Defender and CM10.1

Is anyone using JD with CM10.1? Is there any reason to use it anymore being that it hasn't been updated in ages? I've been using it, but I don't know if it really makes a difference, and BBS shows that it causes wakelocks throughout the night. I don't know if the wakelocks cause more drain than JD saves.
Thoughts?
i haven't used juicedefender since I had a g2, but i don't think it makes much of a difference now. try without it for a few days and see how your battery life fares.

Only used Juice defender when I first rooted this baby. JD drains more then helps. I've tested. You could test it on your device as well..
Ok. I'm going to be reflashing everything tonight, so we'll see how it works without it for a little.
Let me know as well. I just flashed PACman and use juicedefender.
JD was awesome with older phones...
Now it just drains more than it should help. Just like task managers and battery calibration apps, its useless.
Android now takes care of everything I haven't had to use JD in any phones after my old Captivate. And that's old
Get rid of it, flash a kernel, tweak it out and you'll get 5x as much juice then what JD would of done

Greenify is new and getting good reviews.

No more envy of your friend's iPhone which never become slow and battery hungry after lots of apps installed. With Greenify, your Android device can also run almost as smooth and lasting as the first day you have it!
Greenify help you identify and put the bad behaving apps into hibernation when you are not using them, stop them from battery leeching, memory hogging and stealthy running, in an elegant and unique way! They could do nothing without your explicit launch, while still have full functionality when running in foreground. Like what iOS apps act!
App Analyzer will analyze and show apps in your device that keep running persistent services and those launch itself automatically on a regular basis (when network connectivity changes, or every time you unlock your device, install / uninstall / update your apps, etc).
